Chapter 118: Chapter 100: There’s Meat to Eat with Jiang Ning (Two in One)_2
Ling Bo picked up the conversation, "What method?"
Yuan Wei shifted his body, his tone edged with menace, "A fight! The two of us against you, whoever wins gets to stay in the better tent."
[What the heck? Is that Yuan Wei?]
[No way! Two against one? Can’t believe you have the nerve to suggest that!]
[This is clearly unfair to Best Actor Ling!!]
[Suddenly so two-faced, when he just joined the production yesterday, he kept emphasizing that he’s a fan of Best Actor Ling... That magazine he placed in his luggage must not have been genuine at all!]
[Get it, get it, it’s all for the persona. He pretended to be a fan of Best Actor Ling in front of the cameras to gain followers using that image, and now that he sees no benefit in it, he readily discards his facade to seek new advantages for himself.]
[What about Huo Miao and Jian Tiantian standing next to him? Have they lost their voices? Those two also proclaimed themselves fans of Best Actor Ling in front of the cameras.]
[Gross, it’s all just marketing]
[Thinking back to before they joined the show yesterday, Best Actor Ling was the star of the moment, and look at him now, about to sleep in a shabby tent... Sigh]
[How many in the entertainment industry are truly sincere?]
Of course, Ling Bo would not agree to fight with Yuan Wei—he was alone, while Yuan Wei and Lin Qi were two strong young men, clearly putting him at a disadvantage.
Mu Mingxuan, Huo Ziheng, Huo Miao, and Jian Tiantian, who were spectating beside them, kept silent throughout. Naturally, the four of them had already claimed the two best tents for themselves; it didn’t matter to them who ended up in the shabby tent, as long as their interests weren’t affected.
Clutching his fists tightly, Ling Bo suppressed the anger in his heart, took his backpack, and walked toward the dilapidated tent.
[Waaaah, my heart aches for him!]
[So they’re bullying our Best Actor Ling, huh? Alright, fans of Yuan Wei and the others, consider this feud set!]
[Clearly, Mu Mingxuan and his group are not fit to be leaders. Now both Yuan Wei and Ling Bo have no choice but to bow to power, but Mu Mingxuan and his group are only concerned with their own comfort, indifferent to the lives of their underlings, and they simply watch as internal strife unfolds—how is this any different from those negligent rulers of ancient times?]
Sitting in front of the fire roasting rabbits, Jiang Ning also heard the commotion among the other guests. Although she couldn’t make out exactly what everyone was saying, she could tell from their tone that it was a very unpleasant conversation.
It hasn’t been that long, and there’s already infighting.
As Jiang Ning turned the rabbits in her hands, she suddenly felt it wouldn’t matter if the production crew arrived late—she quite enjoyed watching Huo Ziheng and his group suffer and go hungry.
The two rabbits sizzled and dripped with fat in Jiang Ning’s hands, their tempting aroma occasionally wafting into the noses of the nearby guests.
Irritable and annoyed, Huo Miao tossed and turned, her beautiful eyes filled with loathing, the intensity of her emotions almost taking on a tangible form.
After the rabbits were done, Jiang Ning generously offered one to Nong Chun.
Nong Chun was stunned by the rabbit thrust in front of him.
He thought he would be lucky to get a piece of the rabbit, but he was given an entire one!
"This is... too much," Nong Chun stuttered in disbelief.
"Take it," Jiang Ning pushed it into his hands, "We’ll catch more tomorrow."
Moved to tears, Nong Chun accepted it, "I can’t catch rabbits or chickens, but I will try hard to find seafood and supply packages."
Jiang Ning gave a faint acknowledgment.
[Ahhh, just as expected, following Jiang Ning means meat on the table!]
[Those guests must be blind, look at the treatment they get following Mu Mingxuan and his crew, look at the treatment Nong Chun gets.]
[Best Actor Ling! Stop following Mu Mingxuan and his group, join Jiang Ning’s team instead, then you can mooch off Nong Chun’s tent to sleep!]
For the other guests, tonight is yet another torturous night.
In the dead silence of the night, a slender figure was hustling through the forest, walking alone in the darkness. Amidst the occasional chirps of insects and roars of wild beasts, he remained undisturbed, clutching the glowing Small Night Lamp in his arms, his steps unwavering, heading straight toward Jiang Ning’s camping site.
In front of him, a little creature was hopping around in the underbrush, as if guiding him.
The night passed without incident.
The next day, just as dawn broke, all the guests emerged from their tents in succession.
After spending the night hungry and being bitten by mosquitoes, no one had slept well.
Standing on the rocks and looking out, they still couldn’t see the production crew, which everyone found both expected and disheartening.
But they didn’t have time to ponder why the production crew and rescue team hadn’t arrived because they had already eaten everything they found yesterday. Waking up after a night, their stomachs growled with hunger.
Mu Mingxuan came out of his tent and had everyone split into two teams: one halve to the sea to look for seafood and the other half into the forest to search for supply packages and rabbits or chickens.
In the end, Jian Tiantian, Huo Miao, and Huo Ziheng were tasked to go to the seashore to find something to eat, while Mu Mingxuan, Ling Bo, Yuan Wei, and Lin Qi entered the forest.
After glancing at Jiang Ning and Nong Chun’s tents, which showed no activity, Huo Miao urged Jian Tiantian and Huo Ziheng to hurry up in a low voice, as she wanted to get to the seashore and collect all the seafood herself!
Huo Miao had seen the breakfast that Jiang Ning and Nong Chun cooked that morning.
A pot full of seafood, so much that the two of them couldn’t even finish it.
If Jiang Ning and Nong Chun, just two people, could find so much, with three of them, she refused to believe they’d still be hungry today!
Huo Miao was full of confidence, and Jian Tiantian and Huo Ziheng had similar thoughts.
But once the three of them actually got to the seashore, they realized after a round of head-down wandering that they hadn’t seen a single piece of seafood!
[Hahaha, I’m dying of laughter, just walking back and forth, how could they ever find seafood?]
[There was no rain last night, and so there wasn’t much seafood that crawled up, indeed it’s a bit hard to find.]
[Turn over the rocks! Turn over the rocks!!!]
[I just saw a crab hiding right beside Huo Miao’s foot, and she didn’t even see it... sigh!]
After searching for over ten minutes, only Jian Tiantian spotted an octopus.
The octopus was still alive, just stranded in a small puddle. Jian Tiantian screamed in fear, and Huo Miao didn’t dare to grab the squishy, live creature. In the end, it was Huo Ziheng who hurried over and, after much effort, finally caught the octopus.
[Thank goodness it was just a small puddle, cut off from the sea; otherwise, with the way these three are, the octopus would’ve long swum out to the ocean.]
However, capturing the octopus made Jian Tiantian realize, "Some seafood seems to be hidden under the rocks; we should turn some rocks over."
Upon hearing this, Huo Miao and Huo Ziheng nodded lethargically.
After flipping rocks at the seaside for over twenty minutes, amidst a flurry of clumsy actions, they managed to catch two crabs and several sea snails of various sizes...
Just as the three of them were out of strength and exhausted, Jiang Ning and Nong Chun, who had finished freshening up, were walking towards the seaside.
