Even After My Death -

Chapter 115: Chapter 98 The First Day Ends
Jiang Ning returned to her tent and tidied up the mess Huo Ziheng had made of her things, and the two rabbits she had caught for dinner were tied by the legs outside the tent.
After Jiang Ning entered her tent, Nong Chun also returned to his. Unsurprisingly, Huo Ziheng had also left his belongings in disarray, the most noticeable item being a bag of naan that was more than half empty.
Nong Chun set the naan aside and swept the other items to one side, thinking he would sort them out later.
Lying on his back inside the tent, Nong Chun comfortably sighed.
He had walked in the forest for half of the day, and his legs were so sore that he felt as if they weren’t his own anymore!
Nong Chun’s left hand subconsciously reached into his pocket, and halfway through the motion, he suddenly remembered that the production crew had taken everyone’s cell phones on the yacht... Not using his phone for a day felt somewhat unusual.
As Nong Chun lay in the tent, lost in thought, a voice suddenly came from outside: "Nong Chun? Are you resting?"
"No," responded Nong Chun reflexively, immediately getting up, opening the tent, and finding Best Actor Ling and several other guests standing outside with hesitant expressions.
Only being close to Jiang Ning and not acquainted with the other guests, Nong Chun felt socially anxious seeing Best Actor Ling and the other celebrities at his tent and asked, "What’s up?"
"Um... the naan that Huo Ziheng took from here, we’ve all eaten it," stated Ling Bo with some embarrassment.
Jian Tiantian at his side also said, "We’ve come to apologize. We were just so hungry today, we couldn’t help ourselves."
With their words, Nong Chun felt a bit embarrassed: "No, it’s fine, no need to return it. The naan was made by my grandmother; it didn’t cost anything."
"Yeah, thank you," Ling Bo nodded, then asked, "Could you tell us about what you did after entering the forest?"
Since the production crew was still nowhere to be found, and the day was coming to an end, Ling Bo and the others decided not to sit idly by but to venture into the forest themselves.
However, none of them had ever been in such a wilderness before and were uncertain about it, so they came over to ask for advice.
Nong Chun nodded: "Sure."
What Ling Bo and company wanted to know most was how to find water and food, and upon learning from Nong Chun that the stream was nearly an hour’s walk away, they realized it was too late to go looking for a water source today.
Jian Tiantian couldn’t help but lick her lips: "So thirsty..."
Having previously dismissed their own water, Nong Chun wasn’t foolish enough to take the bait, but he did offer them a clue: "You can look at the map, the production crew has placed some supply packs nearby. You might find some there, possibly even water."
After hearing this, Ling Bo and the others asked a few more questions before leaving.
As Nong Chun watched them head toward another tent, not sure if they were going to check the map, he was too exhausted to care much more. What he had told them was all he knew.
After Ling Bo and the others left, Nong Chun zipped up the tent and continued to lie down inside, taking a rest.
[Ling Bo and the others are pretty decent too, coming to apologize to Nong Chun openly]
[Yeah, their attitude in admitting their mistake is respectable]
[Nong Chun is also nice, not getting angry, not like Jiang Ning... In comparison, it feels like Jiang Ning is a bit too petty.]
[Huh? Are you sick? Is there any need to put one down while praising another?]
[Huo Ziheng did do something wrong, and Jiang Ning has the right to be angry, especially since they already had a history.]
[Exactly, imagine if someone I disliked came into my room, I’d be angry too!]
...
Jiang Ning also rested in her tent for a while.
She had been training at the Martial Arts Gym a lot recently, with a high volume of exercise, and thus her body was adapted to this intensity, so the trip into the forest didn’t faze her as it did Nong Chun, who felt tired and sore all over.
Jiang Ning emerged from the tent with the two rabbits and a Survival Knife in her other hand, clearly intending to butcher the rabbits.
Nong Chun’s tent was right next to Jiang Ning’s, and as soon as he heard the zipping sound from the next tent, he immediately peeked out from his own tent and asked, "Sister Jiang, are you going to the beach to slaughter the rabbits?"
Nong Chun called her "Sister Jiang" very smoothly, not because he thought Jiang Ning was older, but because of her impressive survival and hunting skills displayed in the forest that day.
In his mind, Nong Chun had already determined that, before the production crew arrived, he must firmly rely on Jiang Ning, this pillar of strength!
He would be Jiang Ning’s number one lieutenant!
Jiang Ning nodded.
Immediately, Nong Chun said, "Wait for me! I’m coming too!"
Standing outside the tent, not seeing the other guests around, Jiang Ning didn’t pay much attention.
Five minutes later, the two appeared on the beach.
Jiang Ning’s knife work was swift and proficient as she dispatched the rabbits.
Nong Chun looked away after just one glance.
He was no help in killing rabbits, but Nong Chun had come to try his luck at finding some seafood. Jiang Ning stopped him and told him to pick up any bottles or jars he found as well.
Though it was a desolate island with no inhabitants, the beach still had traces of household trash washed up by the waves.
Nong Chun gave a thumbs-up and started searching diligently.
