Chapter 216: Chapter 216: He Can Sense Her Little Emotions

Bella Woods didn’t want to look at Calvin Marshall, but Calvin just had to pester her.

When they were going up the stairs, he deliberately poked Bella with his finger.

Bella ignored him, so he poked her even more.

He poked Bella so much that she got angry and opened her mouth as if to bite Calvin’s finger, scaring him into quickly pulling his hand back.

"So vicious," Calvin said on purpose.

Bella glared at him like a little angry puppy, with a face that said if he dared to tease her again, she’d really bite him.

"Third Brother, your little girlfriend is bullying me!"

Calvin boldly made the most daring decision of his life and tattled to Ashton Marshall!

"Ashton, your sister is bullying me!" Bella also tattled.

As if she couldn’t tattle!

Bella straightened up to look at Ashton, not caring one bit that her legs were wrapped around his waist, glaring intensely at him.

"Third Brother, you can’t be unfair. She just tried to bite me..."

As Calvin went upstairs, he saw Brother Season at the door and quickly grabbed him for support: "Brother Season, come over here and help me judge this."

Brother Season had just come out to meet someone he hadn’t seen in a while, but was suddenly dragged over by Calvin for some unknown reason.

"Judgement, what judgement?" Brother Season was baffled.

Calvin complained to Brother Season first: "It’s her, Little Bella just tried to bite me! You tell me, she’s so vicious, but my Third Brother is still helping her. You must stand up for me!"

Brother Season: ???

Bella wasn’t about to let Calvin tattle first, so she quickly said, "She started it by poking me."

Halfway through, she realized talking to Brother Season was useless and turned her gaze to Ashton.

She cupped Ashton’s face and said, "Just now, your sister was teasing me. And I didn’t even bite her; she was the one who poked me first. I don’t care, if you don’t help me, I won’t be with you anymore."

She pouted and acted coy like a spoiled little girl.

Seeing this, Calvin clung to Brother Season: "I don’t care either, if you don’t stand up for me, I won’t be with you anymore."

"Oh my, young lady!" Brother Season jumped at Calvin’s demeanor and quickly moved a meter away from her: "There’s nothing between us, don’t mess around. I’m afraid of getting in trouble."

Everyone knew Calvin was the most adored Sixth Miss of the Marshall Family.

Not just her parents, even her cousins and siblings treasured her like she was precious.

Once, Brother Season had a crush on Calvin and almost got torn apart by the Marshall Family.

Having learned his lesson, Brother Season dared not act out.

"Are you going to stand up for me or not?" Bella asked Ashton, staring intently.

Ashton had been smiling at Bella all the while she was tattling, not saying a word, just watching her with a helpless smile.

When faced with Bella’s insistence, Ashton smiled even more indulgently: "I’ll stand up for you, definitely. Nobody can bully my darling, right?"

"Ew!"

Calvin and Brother Season both exclaimed simultaneously, feeling uncomfortable with Ashton’s sappy words.

"I don’t care who stands up for whom, I can’t deal with this, I’m going inside." Brother Season hurried back into the private room.

"Count me in; I’m not addressing this injustice, can’t take it anymore."

Who would’ve thought, the usually aloof Third Young Master Marshall could be so mushy? It’s enough to spook anyone.

With Brother Season and Calvin both retreating, Bella actually felt a bit embarrassed.

She struggled a bit: "You can put me down now."

"What’s wrong with you today?" Ashton had no intention of putting her down.

"Nothing, what could be wrong?" Bella didn’t expect him to notice her off mood today, so she pretended everything was normal and smiled cheekily at Ashton.

"Really nothing?" Ashton asked again.

Bella insisted, shaking her head: "Really, nothing at all. Do you think because I’ve been painting all day, I’m just a bit tired, and that’s why you think I’m upset?"

"I never said you were upset." Ashton stared straight into Bella’s eyes, indicating that she was giving herself away.

Bella didn’t expect him to pull this move, and froze, not knowing how to respond.

At the same time, Ashton walked to the private room door and called to the two inside: "Go ahead and order; she eats everything except lamb, we’ll handle something."

With that, Ashton carried Bella to the bathroom at the end of the hallway.

There was only one bathroom. Ashton carried Bella inside, locked the door, and placed her on the counter.

He placed his hands on both sides of where Bella was sitting and bent down to look at her: "Hmm?"

Bella felt guilty under his gaze: "Don’t look at me like that..."

"Then look at me properly," Ashton said, pinching Bella’s face and forcing her to look at him.

"I don’t know what there is to look at." Bella felt guilty.

As Ashton pinched her jaw, her eyes began to wander.

She hadn’t expected Ashton to notice her minor mood.

Today, with Nina Sutton and Ethan Marshall repeatedly approaching her, Bella was just exhausted.

It made her fall into an internal struggle that was hard to express. It took a lot of effort for her to cheer up and face Ashton.

And yet, he still noticed.

"Do you think the age gap between us is just for show, hmm?" The man stared directly at her.

He was telling her that the age gap was not just a number.

It also concerned their life experiences.

Even if she was a school genius, smarter and more sensitive than her peers, in his eyes, she was still just a little girl.

Her every word, every tiny emotion, as long as he was attentive, he could see through it.

"Tell me, what happened?" Ashton asked directly.

The next moment, he added: "Little Bella, I’m asking you now because I hope you’ll share your unhappiness with me instead of waiting for me to figure it out through other means.

That would be a disrespect to your privacy, and you..."

"Don’t investigate me!" Bella quickly said.

She was afraid that if Nina Sutton’s matter got exposed, there would be no chance for them.

Bella selfishly wanted to have a good time with Ashton during her remaining days in the country.

Just a few days left, she really wanted to spend them well with Ashton.

Every day with him was precious to her.

Bella pouted and pleaded, "Don’t investigate me, please?"

"Your attitude tells me you definitely have something going on." Ashton confidently stated.

"Nothing’s wrong, it’s just too much homework making me a bit tired, that’s all." Bella insisted, "Can you just not investigate me and stop asking, please?"

Bella looked directly at him, pleading.
