Chapter 213: Chapter 213: She Said, You Have to Give Him Back to Me

Ashton Marshall dropped Bella Woods off at the school gate.

Previously, Bella Woods had been reluctant for him to drop her off at the school gate because his car was too expensive.

Later, whenever Ashton would drive her, he would switch to a car worth only a few hundred thousand.

"I’m going to be busy tonight, so I’ll have Tim Season pick you up. Come to the company and have dinner with me, okay?" Ashton Marshall reached out and tousled Bella Woods’ hair, asking her.

Bella Woods thought of that warm and unique hot pot from that early morning.

"Is hot pot still on the menu?" Ashton Marshall knew what she liked.

Bella Woods nodded, "Mm, okay."

"Then give me a kiss before you get out of the car, okay?" Ashton Marshall held onto her arm.

Bella Woods was about to get out of the car, but when Ashton pulled her back, she frowned instantly, "I’m going to be late."

"Mm, you’re going to be late, so you’d better hurry." Ashton Marshall turned his cheek to her, his intent clear.

Bella Woods felt he could be a bit of a rogue sometimes.

But she couldn’t help but laugh.

She raised her head to kiss Ashton’s cheek, but just as she was about to, Ashton suddenly turned his head, and Bella Woods ended up kissing him on the lips.

Bella Woods was momentarily stunned.

Ashton Marshall pretended to sigh, "I just asked for a cheek kiss, but I didn’t expect you wanted to kiss me on the lips. Next time, just say so, it’s not like I wouldn’t let you."

Bella Woods: ...

She punched Ashton Marshall’s chest unceremoniously and immediately pushed the door open to get out of the car.

She reminded him, "Don’t get out of the car, I can handle it myself."

With his face, if he got out, he’d become the center of attention in no time.

Bella Woods didn’t want to attract too much attention.

Fortunately, Ashton Marshall also knew that he couldn’t show himself too much to avoid being photographed and causing trouble.

Bella Woods’ art supplies were all on the back seat, and she skillfully got them out.

As she closed the car door, she saw Ashton Marshall still turned to look at her, waving with a smile and mouthing ’see you tonight.’ Bella Woods pretended not to notice.

She shut the car door and walked straight into the school.

Ashton Marshall sat in the car, knowing that Bella Woods intentionally avoided looking at him.

The little girl was soft and gentle to everyone, without any aggression, but she had quite the temper with him.

But he liked it.

He wanted to nurture more of her little temper, make it a bit sharper, and a little more arrogant.

Ashton Marshall curled his lips, as if he could foresee Bella Woods growing into a proud and outstanding young woman, filled with expectation.

...

Inside the school.

Bella Woods headed directly to the activity room with her things.

Today’s course was primarily painting. Although she was going abroad, she had two pieces to complete.

One was for a small test that had to be submitted in the next few days.

The other was for submission to a foreign school as a review piece.

Although Cyan Marshall helped her handle it, and she didn’t need to prepare the review piece for the foreign school, Bella Woods had a strong reverence for her major.

She was proud in her way.

She could paint, and was confident that her work would not only pass but be of high quality, so she wanted her instructors to see her foundation.

After a full day of classes, Bella Woods was mostly focused on painting.

The teacher had noticed her mood before and had told her not to paint, so today they were more attentive to Bella Woods’ state, and since she seemed to be in good shape, they didn’t interfere.

"Bella Woods, someone’s looking for you."

While Bella Woods was mixing colors, someone knocked on the door from outside the classroom and called out.

It was lunchtime, and most classmates had gone to eat, leaving only Bella Woods and two other students in the activity room.

Because of the call from the doorway, the other two students looked towards Bella Woods.

Bella Woods made an apologetic gesture, set the paint aside, and walked out.

Thinking it was Calvin Marshall coming to see her, Bella Woods walked to the door with a smile, but her smile stiffened when she saw Nina Sutton waiting outside.

Her brows furrowed, not feeling there was anything to discuss with Nina Sutton.

"I checked; this hour is your lunch break. Can you come downstairs for a walk and talk with me?" Nina Sutton asked politely.

Bella Woods explained, "We do have an hour, but we have a deadline for our assignments, so time is tight."

"I just want to have a good chat with you. An hour is too much, but twenty minutes would work."

Nina Sutton was persistent, "If you think I’m wasting your time, it’s okay. I’ll wait at the door until you’re done painting and have time to talk."

Bella Woods frowned, unhappy with her remark.

"So you’re saying I will talk to you, and you’ll just wait around like this? Fine, you wait if you want." Bella Woods wanted to leave.

"You have quite the temper," Nina Sutton called after her, "but you’re not at all what I imagined. From what I know, you’re a girl who lacks love and is really gentle and self-conscious."

"Have you ever seen a girl who has been top of her class in high school? Have you seen a student granted admission who is self-conscious?" Bella Woods was displeased with Nina Sutton investigating her.

She lacked love and craved it, so she was obedient and compromising, but that didn’t mean she was hopelessly self-conscious, nor did it mean she had no temper.

Of course, Bella Woods also knew in her heart that she couldn’t be too calm when facing Nina Sutton.

There was always a kind of unspeakable anger.

Jealousy, perhaps.

Jealousy that she had a past with Ashton Marshall, jealousy that they might have a future together.

Jealousy that she wasn’t Nina Sutton, just a fleeting presence in Ashton Marshall’s life.

"If you don’t talk to me, I won’t just wait at the door, but every ten minutes or so, I’ll have a classmate knock on your activity room door, asking if you have time to talk to me."

Nina Sutton’s attitude was firm.

Bella Woods stared at her, negotiating, "Just talk for twenty minutes. After these twenty minutes, I don’t want you to come to the school to find me again."

"As long as you talk to me, I can do that," Nina Sutton promised.

Bella Woods didn’t really trust her, but she didn’t want to be bothered by her any longer today.

Silently, she walked forward, and Nina Sutton followed her.

There weren’t many people at school at this time, and Bella Woods led Nina Sutton to the small lake on campus.

This place is a common dating spot for couples in the evening, quite romantic, but during the day, it’s rarely visited and peaceful.

"What exactly do you want to talk about... What are you doing!"

As soon as Bella Woods turned around, Nina Sutton kneeled right in front of her, startling her to the point of backing away repeatedly.

Nina Sutton looked up, tears on her face, "I haven’t been able to sleep for days, Bella Woods, I beg you to save me, to let me go."

"What exactly do you want to say?"

"I’m asking you to give Ashton Marshall back to me, okay?" Nina Sutton pleaded, "You’ve taken over his life for so long, shouldn’t you give him back to me by now?"

Bella Woods stepped back, unable to believe the words coming from Nina Sutton.

And unable to give a response!
