Chapter 1515 862 Sigrid and Lanci Had a Great Time_8
The two talked and walked, unknowingly crossing the laurel grove and stepping again onto the temple's white jade steps.
The temple was brightly lit, dots of candle flames swaying gracefully, the air filled with incense.
"The main hall of the temple is empty now, we can go in and play."
Sigrid held her breath, concentrating intently, listening closely.
"Should we bring another Forget Dust Star next time and play again?"
"Where to play in the dream?"
"Go to Herram for another date? A whole day last time wasn't enough, I didn't even let you see all my outfit changes."
"You look good no matter what you wear."
Sigrid and Lanci walked side by side on the road, nostalgically discussing all the bits and pieces of the Forget Dust Star dream realm.
"Really, there's an outfit I've been wanting to try, but will you accompany me to try it?"
Sigrid gently bumped Lanci with her shoulder, her hands held behind her, asking.
"What is it?"
Lanci turned her head.
"Not telling you."
Sigrid stuck out her tongue, quickened her pace, signaling Lanci to catch up and look inside the temple.
Moonlight streamed through the Temple of the Moon Goddess' stained glass, casting colorful light and shadows on the marble floor.
The air was filled with intoxicating incense, purifying the soul, devout believers gathered here to pray to Elseya, the Goddess of the Moon.
"This was where we passed on our way to the lakeside."
Sigrid gazed at the corridor built with pure white jade stone and deep gray columns, speaking to Lanci.
"I remember it was quite lively here in the afternoon, now it seems really late, can't even see the priests."
The two slowly walked into the temple, strolling through the corridors.
Every few steps, they could look out from the gaps in the stone corridor towards the main hall.
Winter moonlight bathed them.
A gentle breeze brushed past their hair, a leaf gracefully fell and perfectly landed on Sigrid's skirt.
She bent down to pick up the leaf, the veins translucent in daylight, vibrant and glistening.
"Look, doesn't this leaf resemble my hair color?"
Sigrid handed the leaf to Lanci.
"Yes, what tree is this leaf from?"
Lanci took the leaf, fingertips brushing over its intricate veins, under the silver moonlight, it indeed bore a shade of Sigrid's color.
"It's a leaf from the Moon Goddess tree. It's said that giving the leaves or petals of the Moon Goddess tree to the most important person brings them under the protection of the Silver Moon and the Healing Goddess, blessing them with health and peace throughout their life."
Sigrid looked towards the statue of the goddess in the temple, clasped her hands in prayer, her light-colored hair cascading down, shimmering in the diffused light.
She was entirely absorbed, her visage full of devotion, lips silently moved as she prayed for the goddess's guidance, her tightly shut eyelids slightly trembling, pink lips softly moving, pious and focused, her fair complexion resembling the finest mutton-fat jade, appearing increasingly serene and gentle in the flickering candlelight of the temple.
Lanci did not come back to his senses until Sigrid's prayer was finished.
The girl also opened her eyes, clear and deep as autumn water.
Her gaze met with Lanci's, and a smile bloomed at the corner of her mouth.
Warm light seemed to veil her, and all the starlight was shining for her alone.
A gust of wind sent blessings their way, petals drifting along.
In that moment, Lanci almost envisioned her in a wedding dress, blinking his tired eyes just awoken.
"What's the matter?"
Sigrid asked Lanci, curious.
She noticed Lanci seemed to have been lost in thought for a long time.
"I just realized Mr. Bishop is really beautiful."
Lanci smiled, relieved, murmuring to himself.
"Why did you suddenly say that?"
"It spontaneously came to me."
"You're being annoying, annoying!"
The moonlight was hazy, covering the slumbering earth.
Outside the temple, the bright moon hung high, the galaxy sparkled brilliantly.
Sigrid and Lanci strolled amid the moonlight scattered on the ground, conversing leisurely.
