Chapter 1345: What Am I Missing?
Allison’s response to the angels came with a roar that tore through the skies. With a single motion, she vanished.
In a burst of speed, she reappeared midair, claws slashing for the silver-haired angel’s throat. He parried in time, but the blow sent him flying backward. The golden-haired one came next, blade spinning. Their weapons danced like flames.
If Enel were here, he would have been impressed. Allison was very capable. She darted between them, her claws meeting blades; her form was a blur of black light from her claws, and little traces of wind mixed with cosmic energy.
At such a time, a flashback hit her.
The Underworld.
The scent of brimstone and blood. She had hidden in the shadows as a spy, infiltrating this dirty society. She had been running from the Gluttony Royal Demon family for days. Her body bore scars from missions she was never supposed to survive.
She remembered slitting a demon’s throat with shaking hands and praying that some miracle would occur for them to stop chasing her. And when it did, when the fallen angels came for that forbidden treasure she had held tight to her chest for days, they had treated her like trash. They said she was not even worthy to die by their hands.
Me... Not worthy?
Back then, she had already sworn to at least punch the face of these so called proud beings. The only thing that had kept her going were His words to her—"You don’t survive because you’re strong," Victor had told her. "You survive because you must."
Allison surged upward, claws bursting with cosmic energy. The heavens darkened as she screamed a werewolf battle spell:
"O’ great moon, grant me your fury!"
Obsidian light encased her arms. She lashed out with a cosmic claw that left glowing scars across the he-angel’s chest. He screamed, reeling.
But the she-angel immediately attacked. She had taken advantage of the fight between Allison and the other angel. Since Allison had just sent out a move, recovery would take a brief microsecondbefore the next attack.
Divine magic burned as her wings became darts that shot through the sky. If it hits, Allison would become sleeves in no time. Allison turned. Her eyes narrowed.
BOOM! Clouds went up all around them.
When the smoke cleared up, Allison stood tall. However, she was now in her werewolf form. Full white fur. Some of the angel’s attacks had hit, but her fur was like glass and defended against the attack.
Since coming back in time, Allison had become much stronger. This was the perfect opportunity to display that strength. The kind of power she had seen Victor use in battle.
Then again, she was his heir, and therefore carried the purest blood of her origin. And right now, she was pissed.
She howled to the sky. A deafening roar.
It pushed both fallen angels back. So far back that Lightning suddenly struck, but the he-angel moved just in time. He looked up at the guardian angels at the gate of heaven.
The warning was clear. If he got too close to the gates, he would suffer for it.
Then again, Allison was not going to go easy on them.
She was a raging beast as she rushed at them. The exchange was brutal. She used everything to fight. Her claws, mouth, and even the glassy fur. Anything that could inflict injury on her opponent was greatly utilized.
Soon, even the angels began to have scars. On their bodies, wings, and even their divine energy faltered. But that did not mean that Allison did not feel it too.
If they fought any other place, they would have destroyed mountains. No—whole continents if not an entire planet. But here, just the clouds were displaced.
Allison breathed heavily. She too had wounds on her body.
"Brother... I misjudged. This entity is more interesting than the demons..." The She-angel admitted as she clasped hands with the other angel.
—The angels began to chant.
"Gloria Luciferum. Da nobis flammam tuam." This was Enochian language.
Their wings burst into black flame. The white feathers turned to charred blades of ash as their energy cores ignited, burning from within. Their speed doubled. Allison barely dodged their next attack. A sword grazed her side, slicing through muscle and fur. Blood poured. She fell back, gasping.
Lightning.
Crack! Boom!
Somehow within the fight, the tables had turned, and she was now the one closest to the gates.
A bolt of divine lightning rained down from one of the colossal guardian angels by the gate. The battlefield was lit in furious radiance. One of the fallen angels dodged. The other wasn’t fast enough and took the edge of the strike, smoking wings flaring in agony.
Allison tried to use the opening. She leapt, spinning midair with claws extended. She raked across his chest, pushing him back.
"You will not win!" the she-angel screamed.
"I’m not here to win!" Allison roared. "I’m here to finish it!"
They clashed again. Her magic flared in radiant bursts of violet and black. She used her claws to shape the terrain, forcing molten rock into spikes and barriers out of thin air.
Her fangs caught one angel’s shoulder, ripping sinew free. But they countered with divine blasts that ripped her into the air.
She landed hard.
Crack.
Her left arm dangled. Broken.
She was bleeding heavily now. Gashes marred her form. Her silver-white fur was stained crimson. Still, she crawled forward.
The gate loomed near. But she did not know how to enter. It had been the most frustrating part of this fight. After all, Death did not yet exist and she could not kill these angels.
She looked up, breathing heavily. The angels advanced again. The guardians of Heaven’s Gate turned their eyes, charging another lightning bolt.
Allison gritted her teeth.
"No... It can’t end here. What am I missing?"
And then it hit her. Love had said that the moment her body was no more, her soul would be released.
She looked up at the guardian angels. Instantly, she understood.
The Fallen angels before her did not expect this. She turned and gave a huge leap towards heaven’s gate.
A huge lightning Stroke.
