Chapter 72: Hyuk vs Assassins.

P.O.V - Dang Hyuk.

"Stay close to me." Dang Hyuk says to Dang Ki Ran.

I can sense four presences around us with killing intent.

They were five but I killed one with that needle I threw just now.

He is not fully dead yet but there’s no coming back for him.

Who are they?

Are they here for me?

Well of course, why would anyone attack Dang Ki Ran.

"I’m probably the one they are looking for, I’ll try and lure them away, you two remain inside and do not come outside." I say to Dang Ki Ran.

"But..." Dang Ki Ran tries to object but I don’t let her.

"I will be fine." I say with a smile trying to assure her.

She looks at me worried for a while.

"Ok, come back safe." She says as she holds my hand.

I smile and before I could say anything one barges into the house through the door throwing daggers.

Standing in front of Dang Ki Ran and Rin, using my daggers I block some but some tear at my flesh on my arm and sides.

But I was able to protect the two behind me.

Looking at the person in the house now I could tell he was an assassin from the way he dressed.

He wore all black with mask that covered his hair, nose and mouth but not his eyes.

His whole body was covered in black aside his eyes.

"Who are you?" I ask as I pose with my daggers.

He says nothing and then another assassin flies crashing through the window to attack me.

I quickly push Dang Ki Ran and Rin out of the way.

The assassin lunges unto me with a dagger but I manage to block with my arms which had steel bands around it.

I throw him off me and the two began to attack me.

They were skilled.

I’ve never faced assassins in my life.

This two are not yet at the Level of a First Rate.

They seem very close.

They are most likely Peak Second Rates.

But still they shouldn’t pose any threat to me.

And yet my life feels like it’s on a thin thread facing them.

Maybe because they are assassins?

Little by little they made cuts on me.

This is just two, and I sensed five presences.

With the one I killed it means there are two others I haven’t seen.

While fighting them I was trying to scan where the other two could be.

While scanning I sensed something.

Someone was approaching Dang Ki Ran from behind.

It was the third assassin.

I immediately threw one of my daggers towards him stabbing him right in the forehead.

I was glad I had protected Dang Ki Ran but since I got distracted and threw one of my daggers the two assassins took the opportunity and they both try to stab me.

I managed to block one with the dagger I had in my left hand but I couldn’t block the other.

Though I turned my body to avoid major organs from being hit I still got stabbed.

I kicked away the one I had blocked and taking my dagger to my right hand I stab the other in the neck and kick him away.

The one I blocked comes back charging at me.

I dodge and land a heavy kick to his belly.

As he bends from the pain, with my left hand on where I was stabbed I stab him at the back of his neck with my dagger.

He drops to the ground and I stood there panting.

Its remaining one more.

"Where is he?" I say to myself as my eyes move left, right, up, down scanning for him.

I was still scanning for him when I suddenly felt killing intent behind me.

I immediately turn and what I see is a sword coming right to my face.

I try my best to dodge but I still get cut on my cheek.

I quickly back away.

"What? I couldn’t feel his presence at all until I felt his killing intent."

Damn, that’s scary.

He dashes at me with a sword in hand.

I block with my dagger.

This one, he’s stronger.

He is a First Rate Martial Artist.

We exchange blows for a while and he was having the upper hand.

He was faster than me.

I got cut and cut and cut again.

At a point I decided to go all in.

I throw needles at him and as he blocks it I appear behind him to stab him but he blocks my dagger by turning to face me.

"Why is he so fast?

All I need is a scratch on him and the poison on my dagger would begin to work." I think to myself as we clash blades.

All of a sudden he jolts and he looks behind him looking at Dang Ki Ran who’s arm was stretched out.

He pulls out a needle from his back.

Angrily he proceeds to attack her but before he could reach her my feet reaches his face first sending him flying through the furnitures in the living room.

"Are you ok?" I quickly ask without taking my gaze off the assassin.

She nods her head signifying she was fine.

"Thanks." I say to her with my gaze still fixed on the assassin.

I see the assassin rise to his feet.

He looks at me and charges at me.

He has gotten slower.

I block and hit him in the guts.

He also hits me in the face.

We traded blows.

This time I could cut him.

Gradually the fight came to a stop as he drops to his knees.

I stood above him panting heavily.

I slit his throat and he drops to the ground.

I look towards Dang Ki Ran.

"Are you guys ok?" I ask still panting.

She rushes towards me, her eyes filled with worry as she checks my wounds.

She didn’t even answer me and she began asking if I was ok.

"I’m really fine, it’s just little injuries." I say laughing it off.

"Let me treat you please." She says.

I would have loved that but I need to go figure out what is going on.

I smile at her and say;

"I need to go now, but I’ll come back, I promise."

She looked worried but she understood.

She nods and I smile.

I pat Rin’s head and turn to leave.

I take a step towards leave when she suddenly pulls be back and I feel something extremely soft and nice on my lips.

She kisses me.

I was too shocked to do anything.

I just stood there shocked.

She stops, backs away a little and with a smile she says;

"I will be waiting."

I was speechless.

My heart was pounding my face was red.

"O...ok" I stammered.

I turn to leave and as I step out the door I regretted not doing more.

I should’ve held her.

I should have kissed her back.

"Fuccckkk!!!"
