Chapter 68: Facing the Assassin.

P.O.V -Davd.

Looking at me straight in my eyes the man asks a question;

"Who are you?"

"Hmmm? why would he be asking me such a question?" I wonder to myself.

"And why should I answer that question of yours?" I ask him back.

"I heard the Patriarch call you Namgoong Yeong, but I know no Namgoong with black hair and there is no way a Namgoong would be so skilled in dagger arts, so who really are you?" He asks again.

As he says this The Patriarch, The Second Elder and Dang So look at me in a weird way as if doubting my identity.

Damn, is this dude trying to blow my cover?

Why is he dropping all this information and asking who I am.

"I do not understand what you are saying, I am Namgoong Yeong, though I do not have a strong affection for the members of my family I am a proud member of the Namgoong Clan." I reply him.

"Hmmm, but that does not make sense, then how are you so..." Before he could finish speaking he suddenly turns towards the Patriarch, he swings his scythe in the air blocking two needles which came flying at him from the Patriarch.

The Second Elder dashes at him and I notice he was injured on his arms. just above the metal gloves he wore.

He tries to land a hit which his blocked.

The man in black tries to slice down the Second Elder but he is stopped as he had to use that same scythe to deflect three needles which come for his face.

While blocking it the Second Elder manages to get a scratch in but the man in black moves back fast enough.

Looking at the site where the Second Elder had struck there was no injury.

The Second Elder was only able to cut his clothes.

The man drops his scythe to the ground and pulls out two daggers.

"Well, I wanted you all for just myself so I guess this is fine." The man says.

He dashes at The Patriach and it was clear the Patriarch could not react, neither could The Second Elder.

He stabs the Patriarch at the right side of his abdomen.

The Second Elder tries to attack him but he leaves there and goes on to kill all the other guards present in an instant.

The Patriarch and Second Elder couldn’t do anything but watch their guards killed in an instant.

He stops and looks at the Patriarch and the Second Elder.

From his eyes you could tell he was smiling.

He looks over at Dang So and he dashes towards her.

He appears at her back and swings his hand to slash at her but as if expecting it, Dang So dodges it by bending without looking.

As she bends to dodge it I land a punch on the face of the assassin sending him flying down the stairs.

"I didn’t need your help." She says to me.

"I wasn’t helping you." I replied.

"Watch out!" I suddenly hear the Patriarch yell out to us.

When we realized it the assassin was standing almost between us.

Before we could react he hits us both in the chest, each with one hand.

We both fly crashing into the walls.

Damn!

That was a hard hit.

My chest feels like it could break if I apply a little more pressure.

Damn, he is fast.

He is a Martial Master after all.

I don’t know how Dang So was able to dodge his first attack but I was able to know where he would be since I was an assassin myself and I trained top notch assassins.

"Ughhh, fuck!" I groan in pain.

I don’t think I’ll be able to take on this guy without using the Heavenly Demon Technique or the Phantom technique.

But using it would call for suspicion.

"Let’s see how this goes first." I say as I try to get up.

I get up and I see the assassin toying with The Patriarch and The Second Elder.

He was making little cuts on them.

He could have killed them both but it looked like he was trying to have his fun.

I get up, pick up a short sword from one of the guards and go to help out the two.

He notices me coming and leaves.

He appears at my back and unexpectedly Dang So stabs him from behind.

Surprised he immediately moves out of her way.

Before he could breathe I rush at him.

He dodges my sword and hits me away.

The Patriarch sends needles flying in and he dodges it.

Dang So attacks him.

He blocks and hits her.

The Second Elder attacks him with the Patriach sending needles from behind.

His movements gradually becomes slower.

I guess there was poison on the dagger.

"Well of course there was poison on the dagger she is from the Dang Clan." I said as I get up.

I look towards Dang So and see her trying to get up.

For some reason I smile a bit.

We both get to our feet’s and began launching a flurry of attacks on the assassin along side the Second Elder and the Patriach.

Slowly we were getting through, though we were also taking damage.

After a short while the Second Elder was hit away.

He couldn’t go on any longer.

The three of us continued.

I and Dang So were now the only two active attackers while the Patriarch supported us from behind.

After a while I slit his thigh, while Dang So slit his hand.

I slit his chest and Dang So slices his back.

I slice his neck and Dang So slices his left eye down.

He drops to his knees and The Patriarch throws a needle which lands right in the forehead of the assassin.

He was bleeding from all parts of his body

He knelt there panting, his hands down by his side.

His daggers drops from his hands as he knelt before us.

"Th...the You...Young Master warned me, he warned me not to underestimate the Dang Clan... I guess that was true." He says as his voice shakes.
