Devastating The Murim with My Little Sister
Chapter 51: Planning in the meeting.

Chapter 51: Planning in the meeting.

I move back a little to speak to everyone.

"I have been hearing some rumors about the Golden Manor Merchant group preparing to attack us." As I say this the atmosphere in the room changes.

"Fear not, it is not the entire Manor moving, it is just their First and Second Young Masters." I say trying to put them at ease.

"You say it’s just their Young Masters as if that is not enough to threaten us." Dang Shoo says.

This statement causes the people present to panick.

"Where did you get this information from Dang So?" Dang Woon asks me.

"Sorry but, that is not important Patriarch, and yes, just those two could pose a threat to us but, depending on how we play our cards, we could not just cross this but also maybe gain an ally." I say, replying to both Dang Woon and Dang Shoo.

As I say this the room goes silent as if waiting to hear what more I have to say.

I take a deep breath and then began to speak...

"Apparently, news has somehow gotten to them about what happened here two weeks ago, that must mean we have a mole amongst us since we killed of all the members of the Golden Manor Merchant group that were present that day.

We would need to figure who that person is but for now, we have a matter at hand

As I said, the siblings are now aware of what happened here, though, it seems they are trying to keep it under wraps and rather than informing the Manor Master, they are trying to deal with it themselves so as to gain merit in their fight for the Manor Master Position.

So I propose that rather than gathering and seating here ranting about bullshit, I think we should plan out how the fuck we are going to go about this."

The whole room goes silent for a while.

"What do you suggest we do Dang So?" The Grand Elder suddenly asks me.

I turn towards him and reply;

"Ummm, it’s a difficult situation but I have two ideas, one is that we attack them and silence them before they make their move, but doing so would require alot of planning, man power and equipments."

"But then we most likely wouldn’t be able to pull that off, as you know, we are no longer as strong as we used to be and even if we somehow managed to pull it off, we could be branded as villains and be attacked by the entire Orthodox Faction." The First Elder states.

"Yes, that is true, that is, if we don’t pull it off well enough, but first, please let me finish.

The second idea would be that we negotiate and align ourselves with one of the siblings, that way we at least wouldn’t be pressured by both sides and we could buy ourselves some time." I explain.

Everyone ponders on what I had just said.

They mumured between themselves for a while and everywhere gets rowdy.

After a while of mumuring, the place gradually begins to quiet down.

"So, what do you think is the best choice Dang So?" Dang Woon asks.

"Patriach, I don’t think we should..."

"I want to hear what she has to say Dang Shoo." Dang Woon says cutting short Dang Shoo.

"Well, if it was just me, I might have gone for the first idea, but considering us, as a Clan, I think the second idea would be best." I reply.

"And which of the siblings do you suppose we side with?" The First Elder asks.

"I’m not really sure, I have too little information to be able to give a definite answer." I say to the First Elder.

"So we need more information." The Grand Elder says.

"Yes." I reply.

"And more discussion, join us Dang So, from this point on, you have been appointed as a Special Advisor." Dang Woon says.

"But Patriarch!..." Dang Shoo and the Clan Mistress try to oppose.

"I also think that is a good idea Patriarch." The Grand Elder says raising his right hand.

"She may be young but, I agree to this decision of yours Patriach." The First Elder says, also raising his right hand.

And like that I was appointed as a Special Advisor.

Maybe I’m doing too much, cause I was trying to avoid responsibilities like this for a while so I could focus on my training.

"I just had to be a smart ass." I say to myself as I smack my face with my palm.

Over the course of one week we researched and planned our course of action.

Of course we remained with following my second idea of aligning with one party.

We also had to get a lot of things in place, such as peace offerings and stuffs Incase things don’t go as we plan.

Today was the day we left for our journey.

We decided to meet with the First Young Master of the Golden Manor first.

The people going out for this journey were;

I, The Patriarch, The Second Elder, and some guards.

It would have been safer for us going if we took more heavy hitters like the First Elder and the Grand Elder but we need people to guard the Clan in our absence.

We don’t know what could happen in our absence so it is best to always be prepared for the worst.

Dang Hyuk really wanted to go along but I and Dang Woon somehow convinced him to.

In the absence of the Patriach, Dang Hyuk could use this opportunity to train in acting as the Clan Head.

There’s something going on between him and Dang Ki Ran and I don’t like it.

I’ll find out what it is when I get back.

And so we began our journey.

There was a carriage and several horses.

I, Dang Woon and Dang Shoo rode inside the Carriage.

The Journey was smooth over the course of two days up until when we entered the land of the Unorthodox faction.

Moving across a path in a forest we came across a roughed up young man with thick black hair laying unconscious on our path.
