Chapter 215: Chapter 215: This Move is Not a Loss
Early summer had stealthily arrived, and the previously gentle warmth of the sun was now spreading its scorching heat everywhere like a scattered poison, the oppressive heat continuing from morning until afternoon.
The sweat poured off the journalists working outdoors, fighting through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, regardless of winds and scorching sun, they still held their ground on the front lines of battle in order to gather firsthand data.
This was also true for the journalists under Yang Yu’s dormitory.
The incident between Yang Yu and Tico yesterday had caused an uproar, with rumors getting more exaggerated as time went on. In order to write a headline-worthy piece for the Library newspaper, these journalists had set up tents under Yang Yu’s dormitory since midnight and kept their vigil.
However, they hadn’t expected Tico to blast open Yang Yu’s room window and whisk him away through the sky, turning their entire night’s effort into naught.
Journalists who had chosen to interview Tico followed him all the way to Yang Yu’s dormitory, but ultimately they couldn’t catch up with Tico and could only watch him disappear into the distance, sighing in frustration.
Fortunately, they had managed to ask Tico many questions while in the classroom, their sadness lasted only briefly before they each turned around and went back to write.
With the information "provided" by Tico in the classroom and a little "deduction," they managed to craft quite a few "good articles."
The journalists under the dormitory, who had gotten nothing, watched other journalists return home in chagrin, grinding their teeth with anger.
"If you guys wanted to interview Tico, you should have just done that properly. What’s the meaning of forcing him to take our interviewee away too? It’s improper for you to snatch our business in such a way!"
Had the Library rules not strictly forbidden private fighting, these journalists would have long since taken up forty-meter-long swords, chasing down those who had left to hack them.
Now, they could do nothing but rue their bad luck, feeling even worse than if they had eaten something distasteful.
They should have stormed in earlier, taken Yang Yu, that important deity, pampered him with the best care, urging him to spill all he knew.
But, that was merely a wishful thought.
The old lady managing this dormitory had extraordinary and terrifying strength. Long ago, someone tried to raid this dormitory and ended up becoming a servant for the old lady, promptly bringing her foot-washing water every evening and always ready at her beck and call, becoming a servile servant.
With this lesson learned, nobody wanted to follow in those footsteps.
Thus, all they could really do was think about it, grumble a bit in their hearts, then begin the difficult internal debate.
Several journalists packed their things, planning to try their luck elsewhere to find some minor news and occupy one or two columns.
But the majority chose to stay, not believing for a second that Yang Yu wouldn’t return.
For the sake of capturing the most valuable news, waiting in one spot for several days was routine for them, this minor difficulty was nothing.
Besides, if they couldn’t interview Yang Yu, they could still pry some information from his partners’ mouths; either way, they wouldn’t lose out in this situation.
From morning, they waited until noon, and from noon until afternoon.
Suddenly, a small black dot appeared in the sky, Tico flew overhead with Yang Yu and Keke Ai.
All the journalists, as if seeing hope, stood up in unison. However, Yang Yu and the others only hovered above them for a while before Yang Yu announced in a clear voice,
"You have worked hard. Though I would like to grant you an interview, I still have urgent matters to attend to. If you really want some sensational news, come to the transmission park at noon tomorrow, and I will be there to answer your questions and clear any doubts. Today, you should stop waiting, before the situation is completely clear, I will choose to remain silent."
Having said that, Yang Yu let Tico continue their journey.
The journalists present exchanged dismayed glances, shocked at Yang Yu’s rare response to the rumors, and disheartened that they would have to wait until tomorrow for any news.
Ultimately, they all chose to leave; rather than wasting time here, it was better to see if there were other interesting pieces of news elsewhere.
Yang Yu also wanted to settle things with these journalists in one go, but without a strong bargaining chip, it would only embolden the journalists’ recklessness.
He had to make one careful step at a time, not exposing any flaws, leaving the journalists with nothing to question or discuss.
If everything went smoothly, the rumors would disperse completely after today’s discussions and tomorrow’s press conference.
And he would then be able to unravel Ying Luo’s complications and extract critical information from her.
Honestly, Yang Yu wasn’t sure if he could persuade Tico’s mother within half a day, but he certainly wouldn’t give up easily, wanting everything to return to peace without any repercussions; Keke Ai and Emily were indispensable pawns in this plan.
The opportunity for dialogue might only come once, and absolutely no mistakes were allowable.
Flying through the wind revealed the vibrant scene of the living area below.
The living area was even more prosperous than Yang Yu had imagined.
Most people who passed the Library’s examination did so for a stable life and secure protection.
Not aiming to become star-level members, they led lives no different, even more relaxed, ofTypefaces than those outside. In two or three days, they could earn enough Contribution Value to support themselves for a week; living in such a harmonious place, they desired nothing more.
Of course, there were also some who genuinely loved the All Things Library. As long as the Library did not close down, they would continue their monotonous lifestyles, tirelessly between the Library, cafeteria, task center, and dormitories.
Just the books that the ordinary members were allowed to read in the Library could sustain them for centuries. By maintaining a certain work frequency, and after about a decade or two, they could become advanced members, enjoying the endless knowledge accessible to them.
Flying in the air with a panoramic view of the various walks of life below, Yang Yu smiled appreciatively, feeling truly alive in this world.
Using flight to overcome countless obstacles, they arrived at Tico’s villa earlier than expected.
Everything was just as it was when Yang Yu had first arrived.
Tico didn’t immediately lead them into the villa but rather tilted his head upward, looking towards the empty void,
"Mother, I have returned. I have some matters I wish to discuss with you."
There was no response; instead, there was the creaking sound of the iron gate grandly opening.
Tico led Yang Yu and Keke Ai into the villa, the path ahead clear, extending all the way into the hall.
Inside the hall, silver hair cascading over the back of a chair, Emily was elegantly sipping tea, thoroughly enjoying the leisurely afternoon,
"Welcome, I also have some matters I’d like to discuss with you."
The mature and magnetic voice struck Yang Yu’s soul once again, but this time he was unshaken, merely giving Emily a slight smile,
"Madam, good afternoon. It’s a pleasure to see you again. Please feel free to speak your mind; in exchange, I also have some matters I would like to discuss with you."
