Chapter 80: B.G?

*Halton Inc*

"Mr Halton, the shareholders of Prime star agency have all placed their shares up for sales, just as you predicted." Jen announced to her boss.

Ethan grinned. It wasn’t that he predicted that sort of thing happening, but rather he made sure it did. By not lending a hand to Luther in prison, he made the investors uneasy.

If the richest man in the city couldn’t help Luther, then who could?

"Contact them immediately and let them know I’m willing to buy the shares off them-" he was saying but Jen cut him off.

"Sir, the shares have already been bought." She sheepishly said, hiding half her face behind the black folder in her hand.

He raised a questioning brow, "Bought off?" He pursed his lips, ’I never thought people would actually be interested in purchasing shares of that substandard agency.’ he mused.

Relaxed he ordered, "Complie a list of all the people who bought the shares and how much they bought them-"

Jen inserted, "Sir, it’s just one person, who bought all the shares from the previous investors."

Ethan’s eyes nearly fell out of the socket. "What do you mean one person?" He asked in disbelief.

Jen braced herself, as she explained, "Last night, a woman purchased all the shares from the investors. Right now, she is sitting on thirty percent of the shares of the agency."

The more she spoke, the angrier Ethan got. "What?!" That was ten percent more than his, which meant that this woman would hold more away than he would in Luther’s agency.

Ethan, whose plan had been to acquire the remaining thirty percent and have more shares than Luther himself, had just met a sharp dilemma.

The thought provoked him! He got out of his chair and charged at Jen, before the woman could prepare he landed a harsh slap on her face, sending her crashing miserably to the floor.

"Didn’t I tell you to monitor those shares?! You were supposed to purchase them before anyone else! How did you let her pull one over me?!" he raged, balling his fingers into two tight angry fists.

Jen quickly explained, "Sir, I did make the bid, but she paid a higher price than what you allocated me. Before raising the price, I thought to consult you, but you weren’t answering-"

"Bullshit! Didn’t I explain just how important this was?!" He groaned, resting a hand on his hip and the other on his hair.

"Get me a meeting with this woman immediately, I need to purchase those shares she has." He ordered.

Jen sniffled, holding the side of her cheek, "S-Sir that’s not going to be easy. The woman has not revealed her identity, no one knows who she is."

Ethan lowered himself into a squat and grabbed her by the hair, "What nonsense are you sprouting?"

"Sir believe me it’s the truth! I made my investigations, but not even the investors themselves are fully aware of her identity. The only information in circulation is that she goes by the initials, B.G."

"B.G? Who the hell is that? Could it have something to do with Damien?" He asked.

Jen gently shook her head, despite the pain of nearly having her scalp torn off. "Everyone in the business circle is currently fixated on this woman, and for good reason too. After all, she paid a handsome amount for the shares."

Ethan let go of her hair and straightened his shirt, "And just how much did this woman pay?" He scoffed. "By how many thousands did she pay above me? Fifty thousand? A hundred thousand?"

Jen shook her head as she got off the floor. "A hundred million."

Ethan looked over his shoulder, his eyes widened and his jaw fallen to the ground. "A hundred what?"

Jen hugged her sides, "She paid a hundred million more than you offered and bought the shares. I hear even the investors were stunned by her offer."

Ethan was so stunned that he had to rest his palm on his desk to support his weight and steady his balance. "A hundred million more?" He whispered to himself, still in disbelief.

There were only so many rich families in the city, which should’ve narrowed down his options, but none of their names were a fit for the initials.

"B.G? B.G?" He chanted rhythmically, rubbing his chin, "Who could that be?" He wondered, "And what is this bad feeling in my gut?"

Brooke left the jaws of the judges fallen when she agreed to carry out the audition without the script.

"Miss Brooke, you do realize that the script we sent was over a hundred pages. Or have you not even gone through the whole thing?" The casting director asked.

Brooke held her head high and answered, "The script you sent out had a hundred and seventeen pages, I am aware of the length. But I don’t have any other choice, do I?"

The casting director scoffed, "You sound awfully confident for someone who couldn’t remember to carry the script, how do you expect to remember the lines?"

Brooke inhaled sharply, she knew that their anger was justified, after all she had pushed the progress of their film back. And had placed their production agency in a negative light.

However, she wasn’t about to allow that ruin what Mr Grayson had planned out.

She turned to the director that had given her the challenge, and said, "I accept your conditions, and I look forward to whatever scene you would like me to act out. But before that, I would like to offer my apologies." She suddenly announced.

Her statement left the panel stunned.

But Brooke went on. "I’ve read the script and I can attest that’s it’s brilliant, the people who were involved definitely placed all their hearts into this passion project. And I sincerely apologize for being a part of the reason for all this trouble caused for this movie." She bowed her head slightly, to show she was remorseful.
