Chapter 52: A Reminder Of Her Reality

Ethan angrily stormed into the house, and began to shout, startling the maids who had come out to receive him. Serena had made a feast to congratulate him for getting out of prison, but Ethan did not seem the least bit pleased.

"Where is she?! Where is Cassie?!" He demanded in a loud voice, rolling up his sleeves.

"Ethan, she’s been in a bad mood all day, she’s resting-" Serena was saying, but Ethan walked past her towards the staircase, his steps heavy against the floor.

Serena could sense something was amiss and followed, calling her husband, her heart beating a hundred times a minute.

"Cassie!" Ethan tried opening her bedroom door, but she had locked it from inside. "Fucking come out here!"

"Ethan, what is wrong?" Serena gently tried to touch his arm, but he shoved her aside and continued to bang angrily on the door.

After about a few violent knocks, Cassie finally opened the door, only for Ethan to force his way into her room, his eyes searching for something.

"For heavens sake, don’t just barge into my room!" Cassie raised her voice, closing all her drawers. "What the hell are you doing here?!"

Ethan scoffed, "You’re talking to me so cockily, it’s almost as if you’ve forgotten your place."

"My place?" Cassie scoffed back, she folded her arms across her chest and sent him a harsh glare. "You seem to be mixing something up Ethan. I am not your wife who you can treat however you want. I am Cassie Crane, an A-Class actress, so you’d better treat me with respect."

Serena gasped, ’When did Cassie become so daring? Doesn’t she know she’s talking to Ethan? What has gotten into her?’

Ethan clapped his hands, "You finally show your true colours. I should’ve known that a woman who can spread her legs for her sister’s husband can spread her legs for anyone!"

Cassie angrily charged at him and raised her hand to slap him, but Ethan grabbed her by the wrists and glared harshly into her eyes. "That bag, it was the Grayson heir who bought it for you, wasn’t it?"

"How did you..."

He frowned, "So it’s true! You call yourself an actress, but you open your legs for anyone. Tell me, is that how you won that award? Who did you sleep with whore?!" He threatened in a loud voice.

The mocking grin on the Grayson’s heir face flashed before his mind five times, and his words sounded in his head, making him five times angrier.

Cassie slipped out of the grip, "What? Are you jealous? That a man better than you has taken an interest in me? Serves you right. I’m an expensive woman, so of course only the best sort of men would go after me."

"You bitch!" Ethan raised his hand and slapped her tightly across the face. "I own you, I own your fucking career, I own everything about you! Don’t forget whose baby you’re carrying!" He reached for her hair, but Cassie slapped his hand away.

"Your baby?!" She laughed hysterically. "This child-" before she could finish speaking, Serena rushed inside and hugged her daughter.

"Ethan please forgive her! She doesn’t understand anything, I told you she’s been in a bad mood all day, she’d just trying to vent out her anger." Her mother pleaded in a crying voice.

Ethan hissed, "Teach that daughter of yours some common sense! The first one is already giving me a migraine! My patience can only go so far." He raised his voice, before leaving he said. "I don’t want to see that bag in this house by tomorrow morning! And take down all your posts with it! Orelse you’ll regret it."

As soon as he stepped out, Serena checked Cassie to see if she was okay, "Cassie dear, what’s going on? What bag? And what did he mean about Brooke?"

Cassie pushed her mother aside and rested her palm on her cheek, "Tch! That bastard! How did he even find out?" She muttered under her breath.

She had never told anyone that it was the Grayson heir who got her the bag, so how did someone as clueless as Ethan find out.

"Cassie dear, you have to be careful, Ethan has had a rough day. You should go and apologize to him-"

"Over my dead body! So what if he finds out? I don’t really give a damn about that loser anymore. Didn’t you see the news, everyone’s been talking about him, do you think hanging around someone whose been to prison will help my career?" She scoffed, getting off the floor.

Her mother frowned. "But Ethan is your sponsor-"

"Not for much longer. I have my sights set on someone much higher, much better than that piece of scum. Brooke can have her useless husband back." She announced, her lips twisted into a grin.

"In fact, I think I should do her a solid and return him, don’t you think?" She asked not expecting an answer.

Serena felt uneasy with her daughter’s words. "What do you mean by that?"

Cassie picked her phone from where it was charging and smiled sheepishly. "Mother, do you still have their marriage certificate?"

"Brooke’s and Ethan’s? Yes. You told me to keep it away from Brooke." Serena reminded Cassie of the time she made her steal Brooke’s marriage certificate, just to stress her older sister.

Ethan all of a sudden returned home that night demanding to see the wedding certificate, but Brooke wasn’t able to find it and got a huge scolding from her husband.

"Yes. I do-"

"Go bring it to me! Now!" She ordered.

Her mother nodded and went to bring the certificate, unsure of what Cassie wanted with it.

She returned with the certificate. Cassie strictly took the certificate out of her hands and took pictures of it, wearing a menacing grin on her face.

"Brooke, you stupid bitch." She recalled how the Grayson heir took Brooke’s side earlier. "You think I’ll let you get him? Dream on! I think you need a reminder of your reality."
