Well, okay, they did not forget to give orders even when leaving. But at least she could go in there again!

Despite feeling wronged and resentful, Tian Jiaojiao knew she had to endure. Being transferred from the headquarters was bad, but it was better than being unemployed.

By the time she finished everything, it was exactly the end of her shift, and there was not even a handover.

"Alas, I really am just someone who runs errands!"

Tian Jiaojiao clocked out reluctantly.

But Feng Jiaming’s little assistant did not wait for her and left already. The reason was a sudden business cocktail party; Manager Feng had arranged for her to attend.

The word cocktail party cut into Tian Jiaojiao’s heart like a sharp blade.

It was a blatant show-off.

Having been at Lingxiao Group for more than half a year, as the chairman’s assistant, she had never had such an opportunity. It was truly sad upon reflection.

So, she decided to treat herself to a good meal to make up for it and perhaps turn her bad luck around.

Unexpectedly, just as she reached out to hail a taxi, she heard a familiar, deep voice—it was Huang Yi, Assistant Huang.

"Do you have plans tonight? Come on, get in the car, and let’s talk about Lady Tang’s matter on the way."

Right! Tian Jiaojiao had forgotten about that.

She was supposed to secretly assist Tang Xiaowan, who was to be the future chairman’s wife.

Lady Tang was also going to that company!

Upon realizing this, Tian Jiaojiao hesitated no longer and got into Huang Yi’s car without any reservations.

Soon, they got into serious discussions.

Huang Yi told Tian Jiaojiao that her transfer from the group headquarters was the chairman’s decision.

First, it was to train her, and second, to conceal Tang Xiaowan’s special status, as everyone at headquarters was keen and could easily see through it.

Moreover, the new company had only been acquired not long ago; the departments were still unstable, so it was normal practice to arrange for some of their people to go there.

The paperwork for the job transfer would be sent over first thing tomorrow morning.

There was a designated person responsible; all she needed to do was sign.

Tian Jiaojiao listened and nodded; her anxious heart gradually settled down.

"Will Lady Tang... be a manager?"

Huang Yi shook his head: "Not sure, the chairman didn’t say. Right, you can recommend interested friends to try it out there; the employment terms are still quite good."

"The new company is hiring?"

"Yes, it started yesterday morning. There are quite a few positions, and honestly, the terms are really good... I’m quite tempted myself, but unfortunately, I don’t have the opportunity, haha."

Tian Jiaojiao nodded thoughtfully.

She thought of her best girlfriend. If they went together, wouldn’t they be like fish in water?

And so, the two of them chatted, and before they knew it, they arrived at a high-end restaurant, located in the bustling downtown area, luxuriously decorated.

Tian Jiaojiao knew the dishes here were not cheap and felt a bit embarrassed, but Huang Yi insisted on treating her, and in the end, she had to accept.

Huang Yi led Tian Jiaojiao to a quiet corner and motioned for her to sit.

After she sat down, Huang Yi smiled and said, "Come, let’s have a good meal today and properly reward ourselves. I know you’ve been very tired these past few days, and you still came in to work overtime when you should be resting."

Looking at the smiling man before her, Tian Jiaojiao felt a wave of warmth in her heart.

"Thank you, Assistant Huang."

Huang Yi nodded and continued, "The sudden transfer from headquarters... it was indeed abrupt, but it’s all part of the chairman’s plan to better train you. Don’t be discouraged. Adjust your mindset as soon as possible and seize this opportunity."

"I know, I will comply with the arrangements."

"That’s the best attitude."

At that moment, the waiter came over and asked if they were ready to order. Huang Yi took the menu and asked, "Jiaojiao, what would you like to eat?"

Tian Jiaojiao smiled awkwardly: "Anything is fine. You decide, I’m not picky."

"All right then, I’ll take the liberty of deciding." Huang Yi said softly and then ordered several signature dishes from the restaurant and a bottle of red wine.

Soon after, the beautiful sounds of a piano began to play.

As they were tasting desserts, Huang Yi told Tian Jiaojiao that in fact, her performance at the group headquarters had long been recognized by the chairman and other department managers.
