Chapter 401: Chapter 399: Rich Tourism Culture
After reaching an agreement, Mr. President enthusiastically invited the human diplomatic team to enter one of the latest models of the airship car.
But a somehow comical and pathetic scene occurred, as due to the robots’ substantial weight, the airship car ended up severely overloaded after just loading a few of them. It trembled and shuddered even more violently than usual, resembling an old ox pulling a broken cart.
Throughout the process, the President’s heart trembled, dreading the possibility of a tire bursting by accident... That would have been incredibly embarrassing.
In the end, after spending an hour, they finally arrived at the first stop of the scientific expedition—the large historical and cultural museum—without any mishaps.
...
Days passed one after the other, and the diplomatic inspection proceeded very smoothly, without any particular high waves arising.
As time elapsed, the Taipu civilization’s overreaction also gradually ceased. Under the strict restrictions of the high-ranking leaders, the Taipu diplomats were very polite. Although they were extremely curious about this alien civilization, they did not dare make any rash movements.
The robots controlled by humans certainly wouldn’t deliberately provoke the other side either, so both parties coexisted peacefully.
A wealth of information began to pour into the Mother Ship.
In just a few short days, the population on the ship began to roughly understand the culture, history, and current technological state of Taipu civilization.
It must be said, this airship culture possesses a unique, rugged beauty that’s quite interesting to experience. Everywhere you went, the "putt putt putt" of airship motors filled the transit area with a noisy yet busy atmosphere, which you get used to after a while.
These human diplomats, journalists, and scientific experts immersed themselves completely in experiencing the culture of this alien civilization, setting a rhythm of envy that resonated through the corners of the internet.
Fortunately, they did not forget their primary duties and recorded everything...
Firstly, in terms of technology, the Taipu people were equivalent to humans in the early 21st century. In some countries, the internet and computers had already emerged, but there was no invention of airplanes, rockets, or satellites yet. Due to extremely uneven economic development, the vast majority of countries were not yet connected to a global internet.
The Taipu people were very accustomed to utilizing buoyancy in their civilization’s technological products. Whether it was airships or cars, both had similar airbag structures, developed to the point of perfection.
They even liked to fill some high-end clothes with helium!
These clothes looked like puffed up down jackets when worn, making one feel unusually lightweight...
Taipu civilization was also structured around family units with two-gender reproduction, so some aspects of their lifestyles were very similar to those of humans. They had also developed science, so understanding and communicating with them wasn’t difficult, unlike the religious civilization of the Riley people.
Some mathematicians, already eager, had sent over reports to Zhang Yuan, wanting to engage in a series of mathematical exchanges with the civilization’s mathematicians. Even if their mathematics were not as developed as humanity’s, it would still be good to have such exchanges.
But leaving that aside for now, from a military perspective, a few small countries on the planet were still engaged in local wars, with thick smoke from gunpowder hanging over the conflict zones.
These countries were not even aware of humanity’s arrival, and humans did not interfere but merely observed silently.
Such internal affairs, when old grudges and new hatreds intertwine like a tangled mess, humanity had already seen plenty of that within their own civilization. What business did humans have interfering with theirs?
However, a few of the major countries that were being visited by human civilization felt embarrassed that aliens were witnessing their internal wars. It really was a blow to their pride.
The Tai Pu people of this planet, however disjointed they might be, were still a single civilization. Although they had different races and borders in normal times, with the visit of an alien civilization, they could only be collectively referred to as "Tai Pu Civilization."
It was a uniquely unpleasant taste to lose face in front of aliens...it could even affect their own interests. The leaders of these major nations were using their countries’ influence to mediate the conflict between the warring parties.
Even if it was just a temporary mediation.
This behind-the-scenes peacemaking effort was something humans could not directly know, but they could deduce it from the direction of the war and its abrupt cessation.
After reviewing the military report, the military said, "According to our military satellites’ observation, the weapons used by both sides are mainly centered around massive ships and big guns. Light, floaty bullets slow down very quickly in the dense atmosphere, so gunpowder firearms are not very effective."
"Only high-mass shells, with enough inertia, can be projected far enough. These two countries are not powerful, yet some hints of this can be found. Without satellite navigation and strong information technology, it’s hard for their concept of warfare to keep up."
Zhang Yuan nodded in agreement, "This is also determined by the natural environment. Having never used satellites, they naturally do not understand the key to information warfare."
"...In fact, our weaponry, including electromagnetic guns, lasers, don’t serve much purpose in such an environment, with the atmosphere being so thick... The most effective thing is to have air superiority so that you can freely drop nuclear bombs. Just this alone is something they cannot defend against."
The last part of the report dealt with biological and geographical surveys, which were of great interest to the public.
The central big screen showed a video where airship traffic, as the preferred mode of transport, seemed very leisurely and comfortable in this diplomatic journey, with a clear view of the pristine forest below.
The plants here, generally not very tall, with the tallest trees reaching only eight or nine meters, were teeming with primitive life flourishing in the forest.
A good-looking female robot explained on TV, "This is a tree called Lai Wood by the locals. It grows very slowly, taking about three hundred years to reach a height of five meters. However, it is extremely hard and hosts many animals. The locals use the leaves of this tree to make paper."
The birds flying in the air were also quite peculiar; to overcome gravity, these birds evolved very unique physiological structures. Not only are they light, but when facing danger, they can swell up like pufferfish and then jet out from their air sacs violently!
They were natural jet planes!
"The fish in the water, on the other hand, are very similar to those on Earth, probably a result of convergent evolution in similar environments."
"The only difference is that the muscles of these creatures are generally exceptionally sturdy, and their strength is frighteningly formidable."
The robotic journalist tried to catch a fish, but it splashed water all over the camera with a "swoosh" and zipped away. Some anxious Tai Pu locals nearby wanted to help, fearing that these alien guests might get upset and trigger a civilizational clash, but they were also refused by the humans.
These fascinating cultural and natural landscapes had sparked great interest in tourism to this planet among the people from the mountains, at least... much more interesting than the once-visited Riley Star!
