Chapter 366: Chapter 365 When Native Civilizations Meet Interstellar Civilizations

From high above, the Riley people on the primitive battlefield resembled ants tearing at one another.

"Mr. Wang Junpeng, do we need to stop this barbaric war between the natives?" asked Anfei, a young female diplomat. Through her binoculars, she saw so many aliens brutally slaughtering each other on the ground, their strange blue blood splattering, and she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy.

"No, barbaric? You’re mistaken. They’re not humans, and whether it’s barbarism or elegance, we can’t impose our definitions on them. What you call barbaric may, in fact, be an essential means of survival for them. Without war, they might not be able to feed their population. Would you want to strip one side of their right to survive? Or perhaps you’d prefer to feed these people?" Wang Junpeng replied offhandedly.

The female diplomat realized she had misspoken and blushed with embarrassment.

Wang Junpeng continued, "Besides, whether they fight or not is of no concern to us. We’re simply picking out a flat plain to land on."

"I certainly don’t intend to interfere in their internal affairs... Of course, once our spaceship lands, they probably won’t be able to continue fighting."

As they chatted, the sky was filled with a tremendous rumbling noise as the human transport plane approached the ground, its jet engines spewing bright white ion flames in reverse thrust.

Boom!

The ground below was scorched by the high-temperature ion flames, melting sand and mud into a glaze, with nearby grass and trees burning to ashes.

A large group of Riley people, gliding in mid-air, saw this miraculous sight and fell to the ground one after another.

Especially when the shuttle landed on the ground, the enormous vibration caused chaos in the battlefield several kilometers away, with both sides simultaneously dropping their weapons and prostrating themselves on the ground.

"God... the Divine has punished us!"

"Demons bring about apocalypse!"

"No, it’s not demons! Look, it ignites! It ignites! And... gems! Those are gems!" A few scouts with sharper eyes started screaming, forcibly believing the ground scorched by the transport plane’s ion flame had turned into crystal-clear gems...

And to this ancient civilization, the burning phenomenon was considered a blessing from the Divine.

To them, such an event was an incomprehensible and momentous Divine sign.

Since a miracle had occurred, it must be the Divine, not a demon.

"God...has Your envoy descended?" The Archbishop from the rear of the battlefield heard about this and was so excited that he nearly fainted, his heart filled with exhilaration and trepidation.

The excitement stemmed from the belief that if the Divine truly had come, their side would undoubtedly achieve a true victory in the war!

The trepidation was because... what if the true God was on the side of their enemies? The opposing forces were also cheering loudly and praying.

"No, that’s impossible! It is our Divine," the opposing priest insisted resolutely, his faith never seeming so firm.

With that thought, all the Riley people began to strengthen their faith, praying and praying...

The lower-ranking soldiers became even more convinced and excitedly frenzied.

Soon after, both sides on the battlefield realized the other was celebrating and immediately started roaring and screaming at each other, each believing that the Divine Messenger was undoubtedly on their side, and it seemed the smoke of war was about to reignite.

However, for the leaders of the two nations, the higher the officials, the greater their apprehension. What punishment would they face if the real Divine Messenger arrived? So-called religious wars were just a way for rulers to gain wealth under the guise of religion.

Most were pretexts for acquiring wealth and land; was there any real justice?

And as for these upper-class individuals, what vile things had they done, and had they followed the strict doctrines? Surely the Divine knew all.

This caused them extraordinary panic as each of them looked up, squinting, trying to make out more details of the huge unidentified object in the distance.

"Click!"

A few minutes later, the air pressure locks gave a soft click, and the Human diplomat Wang Junpeng stepped out from the shuttle, followed by a group of soldiers clad in Power Armor, guns at the ready.

This is a vast plain, where the landing and takeoff of aircraft are quite convenient—it’s a carefully chosen location.

"The air is really good."

He took a deep breath, and even though it was only the oxygen from within the Power Armor, it felt fresher somehow.

All the surrounding staff were very excited, including a few young assistants who were marveling at the beauty of this planet.

The scenery before them was a bit different from that of Earth and Gliese 581, with its vast forests and farmlands, clearly depicting an agricultural era culture.

And the nearby forests featured trees that were on average over 50 meters tall!

The sky was a pale green, like a gigantic green emerald, possessing a unique gradient of colors which had many people transfixed for a while.

"Dear viewers, I am Jina, the reporter on this special mission. The reason why the sky of this planet is pale green is due to the composition of the atmosphere being quite different from Earth’s. This planet has a lower concentration of oxygen and a higher content of nitrogen. Also, the oceans of this planet tend towards green."

"At our landing spot, it seems that the native civilization is in the midst of a war, but now they have all been stunned by our arrival. Ha ha, who knows what kind of impact our trip will have on this backward civilization?"

"Please stay tuned!"

As for the ratings... Of course, they are extremely high!

Dealing with such a low-level civilization is indeed a first for us...

The feeling in people’s hearts is one of eagerness and curiosity, with not a trace of fear, probably because Human strength far exceeds that of the other party.

Oh, and that peculiar sense of superiority!

This strange sense of superiority is more or less present in everyone’s hearts, it’s inevitable. The so-called cruel wars seem ridiculously amusing.

Wang Junpeng saw the reporters setting up their cameras and couldn’t help but laugh, "Alright, don’t randomly capture the traces of the battlefield. Arms, internal organs, blood—let’s not directly broadcast those; even the kids in school are watching."

Even though his status has risen over the years, deep down he’s still a layman... Facing such a civilization, how could he not feel superior?

To put it vulgarly, isn’t the reason why Human civilization relentlessly whips itself forward... to avoid becoming a similar Ordinary Civilization? Civilizations inevitably differ in strength and weakness, elegance and barbarism, as well as hierarchy.

The so-called freedom and equality, mutually beneficial trade; these are all gifts from Humans to them, not something they fought for themselves—these are two different concepts.

Of course, this touch of superiority is only buried deep in the heart, never to be shown outwardly, lest it undermines the manners and culture of Humanity itself.

Being proud of one’s civilization is not wrong, but arrogance is going too far.

"This feeling is really good, no more need to walk on eggshells."

Wang Junpeng stretched out his limbs and said through the headset: "Everyone, we’ll temporarily pick this location for our research base. Engineers, first use the materials we’ve brought to build a sterile living quarantine area. The researchers collecting biological samples can start working, but do not go beyond 500 meters from the main base..."

"And you, come with me."

A group of Power Armors clanked their way onto a series of vehicles and headed towards the battlefield, where the Riley people were still in a dazed state.

The Riley people lacked metal, but that didn’t mean they had never seen metal. Seeing bodies entirely covered in gleaming metal solidified their beliefs even more...

Some of them couldn’t help but start to worship!

Only Divine Messengers could possess such wealth!

"Axi ba!"

"Axi ba!"
