Chapter 280 - Chapter 280 Chapter 280 Earth Era Time Officially Sets Off

Chapter 280: Chapter 280 ‘Earth Era Time’ Officially Sets Off Chapter 280: Chapter 280 ‘Earth Era Time’ Officially Sets Off Fifteen days had gone by in the blink of an eye, and the day had finally come for the “Earth Era” spacecraft to officially embark.

Humans and Glizerians bid each other a warm farewell, and even lit grand fireworks in the cosmic void to celebrate the occasion!

It was simply a carnival belonging to two civilizations!

The first generation of 500,000 interstellar migrants reminisced about that bygone era, recalling their spirited and ambitious departure from Earth with a hint of longing. Before they knew it, more than three thousand years had passed and they still sighed over it to this day.

In the Tenglong Space City’s technology exhibition hall, Captain Zhao Qingfeng’s speech was playing on a large screen, repeatedly met with waves of applause.

Behind him was a huge holographic screen displaying a pale blue planet, Earth; a bare planet, Moon, representing the former home of humans;

a slightly yellow planet, Gliese 581g; another bare planet, Satellite #1, representing the current habitat of humans.

“Ladies and gentlemen, leaving our original world, our original civilization, we have no regrets.”

“Because a powerful Human Civilization has been reborn from the ashes on this planet.”

“Now, the second interstellar journey of the ‘Earth Era’ has begun once again!”

Apart from the middle-aged individuals reminiscing about the past, nearly three million of the new generation of humans born on this planet were fervently sending off the spaceship.

Most of these new generations were young people in their twenties and thirties, whose pursuit of the stars and seas was no less passionate than that of the initial 500,000.

“The first journey embraced all the glory and dreams of Earth Civilization; the second journey now carries all the thoughts and memories of the Gleize Civilization.”

“This vessel of a truly radiant voyage…”

“In the dark universe, there will never be a ship greater than her.”

“Here, we sincerely hope that in the boundless space, the dark universe, a brand-new civilization can be nurtured.”

“We wish for the Gleize Civilization to successfully reach its destination and embark on a new chapter of history, truly breaking free from mediocrity. We also thank all the scientists and engineers for their noble contributions over the years, thank you!”

As the final second passed, the reactors inside the Earth Era spaceship ignited simultaneously, ejecting bright plasma pulses!

Due to the massive load of cargo and crew, this enormous ship’s acceleration was inevitably slow, approximately one-third of a millimeter per second squared, relying solely on the push from its nuclear fusion engines.

The first task was to break free from the satellite’s gravity.

“Report to the captain! Main engine is operating normally, reaching rated power; auxiliary engines are working fine! All units online!”

“Deploy the Light Sail and accelerate forward!”

Once the Light Sail was deployed, lasers from the planet’s surface shone upon it, reflecting brightly like a giant mirror. Humanity had already promised to provide technical support for the voyage of the Earth Era.

“Captain’s order, increase the thrust of the lateral auxiliary engines!”

As the spaceship’s speed gradually increased, after orbiting the satellite two and a half times, it finally broke free from gravity and slowly drifted away from the planet.

Looking at the colorful fireworks around, the grand celebration ceremony continued, while simultaneously checking various parameters on the screen, everything seemingly normal.

One of the Pangolin assistants, suppressing his excitement, asked, “Captain, will we ever come back here… back to this planet, our Mother Star?”

Ganyador sighed, “No, we will not come back.”

The assistant clearly paused, “Why? What about our remaining tribesmen… most of our people are still here.”

Ganyador was silent for a while, then said indifferently, “It’s hopeless… Alan, don’t think too much about it.”

“The good you perceive, the right you believe in, they don’t see it that way. All the Glizerians who share our ideas have already boarded the spaceship… What’s the point of coming back? How do you think we should save those whose ideas differ from ours?”

The assistant opened his mouth, wanted to say something, then remembered the tribesmen on the Mother Star, living in oblivion.

The only method he could think of was to change through war, physically killing those individuals with differing ideas. Trying to convince them verbally, to reason with them, was utterly impossible and could possibly result in our own assimilation.

But then, what was the point of eliminating them physically?

It would be better not to return…

Alan said resentfully, “Captain, what will the humans do to them?”

“What will humans do to them? I don’t care… Thinking too much is pointless,” Ganyador glanced at the various parameters on the screen and sighed, “Because we are now two different civilizations. Thousands, tens of thousands of years later, if our descendants make a stand on that Alien Planet, how could they possibly remember the once Mother Star?”

“Would you identify with ancestors from tens of thousands of years ago?”

Alan was stunned, “Yes, I wouldn’t… We have already forgotten. Even if we rise again in the future, this part of history has already become a humiliation.”

All the Glizerians looked at their Mother Star, excited yet somewhat sorrowful.

Goodbye, Mother Star.

We…

will never return.

A huge spaceship thus silently vanished into the dark Universe, disappearing into the dim horizon…

Waiting for them was an unknown tomorrow.

Even though the new humans had given as much support as possible, rising again in the reaches of space was no easy task. Even with over three million courageous Glizerians stepping into this universe, this civilization still had many internal issues to resolve.

So many indeed…

Contrasting with the civilization of Glize, was the fervent New Human Civilization which was holding large-scale farewell and celebration ceremonies at every Starry Sky Port and in various living areas on the surface!

The flashes of cannon fire briefly illuminated the starry sky, visible even to people on the surface. Despite being two different civilizations, the warm send-off resonated through the heavens. What was even more exciting was the start of a long 12-day holiday.

Indeed, this was the first major project completed by humans in this Star Domain!

Throughout the decades-long construction of the Space Elevator and interstellar docks, a large number of high-tech talents emerged. The Earth Era Spaceship had left, but these talents would not vanish.

For those who had contributed, recognitions and rewards were in order.

Many engineers and scientists grouped together in twos and threes, reflecting on the gains from this massive project and wishing the “Earth Era Spaceship” well on its second journey.

Meanwhile, many were discussing the second generation of the Mother Ship. People were trying to use the massive productivity of universal manufacturing, and the latest material technologies, to build a Super Carrier far surpassing the Earth Era and the Golden Sun.
