Chapter 95: Ember’s Monsterization (8)

"Yeah?" The Vampire Queen’s tone was calm and she didn’t show any sign of hostility.

She didn’t had even the slightest idea about why Nellas had suddenly screamed her name.

So, as soon as she appeared, she asked what Nellas wanted from her with a single ’Yeah?’.

Hearing it, as fast as he could, Nell opened his mouth and spoke.

"My wife is in danger. Can you please help me get out of the dungeon and go see her? I am afraid that something might happen to her, and I have to make sure she is alright."

Nell was a bit panicking, and his voice was also shaky.

He had an idea about how dangerous his wife’s situation could be, and so, he was very worried.

He knew, if anything were to happen to her then he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself.

And, that’s why he was desperate to leave this dungeon, and meet his wife as soon as possible.

"..."

However, hearing his words, Lunéa, who was in her shadowy form, went quiet.

Nellas was looking at her with a desperate expression, waiting for her to answer him.

"Can I ask you something?" Lunéa broke the silence and asked the man, whose gaze was still on her.

"What?"

Nell was a little surprised and his mind was a mess, so, his tone came out a bit too fast and a bit harsh.

However, the vampire didn’t seem to care and continued to ask.

"Your wife, the person you are talking about. Is she the same person as the one in your mind?"

She asked the question, and Nellas’ eyebrows raised.

"Huh?"

He was not expecting this and didn’t know why she was asking him this strange question.

The person in his mind?

What the hell was that supposed to mean?

He was dumbfounded, he didn’t know the true meaning behind her words and was completely clueless.

"Hmm," The Vampire Queen noticed his confusion and decided to enlighten him by giving him some description of the person she was talking about.

"It looks like you don’t understand what I am talking about,"

Saying it, the vampire queen shook her head, and continued.

"Well then, let’s change the question a bit. Does your wife has crimson hair and leafy eyes? Does she have a very beautiful face and a pair of perfect lips? Also, a pair of soft and smooth hands that can give anyone a warm embrace."

As Lunéa described the person, Nellas’ brows furrowed as her descriptions matched his wife’s.

"It seems that you are familiar with the person,"

Saying it, a sigh escaped the woman’s mouth, and the shadow covering her began to contract, revealing her human form.

"It is just as I thought,"

Lunéa’s figure was now visible. She was no longer shrouded in the black mist, and her voice sounded a little scared.

"What are you talking about?"

Nellas’ eyes were narrowed and his gaze was fixated on the Vampire Queen, who had an indifferent expression on her face.

Because he had already seen her and was worried about his wife, he didn’t have the time to be astonished by her beauty.

"Nothing, just saying that you can’t go and save her."

The vampire answered, and a slight smile formed on her face as she looked into his eyes.

"Because, I am not gonna let you."

"Huh?!" Hearing her words, Nellas was taken aback.

"What are you saying?"

He was dumbfounded, and his heart was beating faster as panic began to creep inside him.

"You heard me, I won’t let you leave the dungeon,"

Lunéa repeated her words, and a smile was still on her face, her tone was a bit mocking, and she was acting as if she was talking to a kid.

Nellas could feel the anger burning inside him. But, he knew he needed to calm down and keep his emotions under control, since, it was a Vampire Queen who was in front of him.

So, he breathed, and tried to calm his mind.

"Why?" He asked, "Why won’t you let me leave the dungeon?"

His voice was still a little shaky, and his words were coming out in a low tone.

But, never mind that.

"Why should I let you leave the dungeon? Give me reason. A reason good enough for me to allow you to leave."

Lunéa tilted her head and answered his question with a another question.

She was now smiling as if she had the upper hand in the situation, and her words were coming out of her mouth with a hint of mockery.

"What?"

Nell was speechless, he didn’t know what to say, and how to respond.

"What reason do I have to give you?"

He was still a bit panicked and the only thing going through his mind was, ’He was wasting time. The more he stays here, the less chance his wife would have of survival.’

"What, what about the fact that my wife is in danger?"

With his panicking mind, he was unable to find a proper reason and could only muster up those words.

"So? Do you think that matters to me?"

Saying it, the woman shrugged, and a laugh escaped her mouth.

She just wanted to waste his time because she had a feeling that if his wife is saved then something bad will happen to her whole vampire race.

’If it is the same girl I saw in his eyes then I mustn’t let him leave.’

The vampire was determined to stop him, no matter the cost.

"I–" Nellas’ mouth was open, and no words were coming out of his throat.

He was not expecting this, and didn’t know how to convince the Vampire Queen to let him leave.

He could have easily came up with a solution to this situation before, but, now, his mind was not in a proper state and his thoughts were a mess.

"Now, tell me why I should let you leave?"

Seeing his troubled expression, the woman’s eyes shone brightly, and she once again asked the question, "Give me a reason,"

She had won, and she knew that Nellas won’t be able to say anything in response.

"I..."

Nellas tried to come up with something, but, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to say anything.

He was at a loss for words.

The silence stretched and the vampire kept staring at him, waiting for his response.

Ding!

[Host, for some reason I am disconnected from your wife. I can’t sense what is happening to her.

But, I can reopen the dungeon’s gate if you want.]

Just then, a screen appeared in front of Nellas, causing a faint smile to materialize on his face.

So, with slow movement of his eyes, he looked behind the Vampire Queen and a surprised look appeared on his face, causing him to gasp.

"Wha–"

His voice trailed off as his eyes widened in shock, and his mouth was wide open, "Va-Vampire God?!"

Nellas’ shock was clearly visible on his face and his trembling legs only added to the effect.

Lunéa didn’t sense any presence behind her, but, seeing his reaction, she got a little curious and turned around to take a glance back.

However, what she saw was not what she was expecting, and a surprised ’Eh?’ left her mouth.

There was nothing at her back. Only green trees could be seen far from her.

She was a little confused and her eyes shifted back toward Nellas, who was now looking at the other side of her back.

"Huh?"

Surprised look appeared on Lunéa’s face, as she slowly turned her body around.

Her gaze was scanning every inch of the surrounding area at her back, however, there was no presence of anything behind her, and no one was present there.

’What is he looking at?’

She was baffled, and a look of uncertainty was on her face.

However, as soon as she finished thinking, sounds of foot steps began to come from behind her.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

"Wha–"

Surprised, her head instantly moved, and her eyes widened as they landed on Nellas, who was running toward a portal which was swirling just two steps away from him.

"You!!"

Seeing his escaping figure, Lunéa was furious and she screamed, "STOP!"

The vampire was enraged, and her voice was filled with anger.

She wanted to use her powers and stop the man, but, well, it was too late.

Nell was gone and the portal was just as big as a football, now that it had began to shrink.

The woman stomped her feet on the ground and her hands turned into fists, causing her nails to dig into her skin.

"Dammit!"

Curses left her mouth, and her eyes were glaring daggers at the shrinking portal.

"I let him fool me again."
