Just as Ember finished saying those cold words in an emotionless tone, the ring on her hand began to shine with black smoke which soon covered her whole arm.

[Darkest Night’s ability ’Dark Energy Manipulation’ has been activated.]

After the system’s announcement, the black smoke that was covering her arm turned into a black mist.

The black mist then moved from her hand toward the assassin’s wrist and wrapped around it.

"W-what the hell is this?"

The assassin asked and looked at the ring before looking at Ember who didn’t answer his question.

"Do you think I am scared of you?"

The assassin raised her hand and punched Ember’s already bruised face, but, it didn’t have any effect on her.

She endured the pain and her grip on his wrist didn’t falter.

"Huh? Let go you bitch!?"

The man punched her again, but, Ember didn’t care and was just looking at his arm with an empty stare.

"What are you looking at? Fuck—!"

The man shouted, but, his shout was just an incomplete sentence as Ember’s bruised lips which now had blood on them, parted and said,

"Blow,"

First, only one word came, and then, after a little pause, the second one followed.

"Up,"

The assassin’s arm blew up, and the bloody stump which used to be his arm was now hanging from his shoulder.

"AAAAAHHH!!!"

A scream of pain rang in Ember’s ears and the smell of fresh blood assaulted her nose.

A smile appeared on his face and she slowly got up from the floor, still holding the bone which was one inside the man’s arm.

All of the skin, muscles, and nerves had been ripped off and were splattered all around the bathroom, along with the blood.

Some pieces of the meat were even stuck on Ember’s face and her clothes, and as she got up, the bone slipped from her hands and fell on the floor, causing the sound of a ’Thump!’ to echo in the bathroom.

The meat also slipped down Ember’s face and landed on the ground before she took a step back and stood a few inches away from the man who was now clutching his bleeding shoulder.

The assassin was lying on the ground and was holding the remaining part of his arm with his other hand while his eyes were bulging out of their sockets.

The pain was unbearable, and he was rolling left and right, trying to lessen the pain, but, it was futile.

A chuckle left Ember’s mouth, and she took a step forward, her foot landing on the man’s bloody stump, which caused him to let out another scream.

But his painful and sorrowful screams were just a piece of beautiful music to Ember’s ears, and it only caused her to feel more excitement.

Slowly, her mouth opened and a small laughter escaped before it turned into a maniacal cackle.

"HAHAHAHAHAAAAAH~!"

She was laughing, and the blood was dripping down her chin, making her look like a maniac.

"AHAHAHAHAHAA~!!"

Ember’s laughter was louder, and the man was now staring at her with fear.

His eyes were moving everywhere and he was thinking of escaping, but, before he could do so, Ember’s laughter died down.

"Ah~, finally,"

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, letting the smell of fresh blood engulf her.

"Finally, I feel alive."

Saying it, she opened her eyes and they were glowing a bright green light.

"And you, my friend, will help me feel even better."

After saying those words, she bent down and her hand moved to grab the man’s head.

"I hope you can keep up."

She said, and with her hand, she grabbed the man’s ear while her other hand clutched his head, and then she pulled.

"AARRGGHHH!!"

The man let out a scream and Ember threw the ripped piece of the flesh across the bathroom, which was the man’s ear.

Just as Ember ripped the man’s ear, the system’s notification popped up, informing her that her ring had absorbed 4% of the man’s life force.

The amount of health she had recovered was 4% of her max health points, which was currently at 67%.

Ember’s lips curled into a smile, and the anger and the rage inside her had already gone down.

She felt satisfied and a warm feeling was present in her chest, which was slowly growing.

The girl mumbled and reached out for the man’s other ear.

Saying it, she ripped his other ear off too and threw it behind her, not even giving a damn about it.

As she was doing this, the system was sending her notifications every time her power rose and her health was restored.

She stood up and walked to the wall in which the dagger was embedded.

Reaching closer, she began to move her hands across the wall to find the handle of the dagger.

After searching for a while, her fingers finally touched the cold metal and her hand immediately moved toward the handle.

Slowly, she pulled it out and a ’Shink!’ sound echoed in the room.

Once the dagger was out, she held it in her hand and walked back to the man.

The assassin watched as she approached him with the dagger in her hand and the fear grew inside him.

He was pleading with Ember to spare him and he was willing to do anything just to be freed.

But, Ember didn’t care and her grip on the dagger tightened.

Her tone was playful, and a grin was visible on her face.

Saying it, the girl bent down and her hand moved over the man’s chest as if she was examining it.

"Hmm, I don’t know about that. You did beat the shit out of me."

Her hand kept moving for some seconds before she stopped and pointed her finger out.

Ember spoke and pressed her finger against the man’s chest in three places.

After saying it, she raised the dagger some inches above the man’s chest.

In an instant, the blade was plunged inside the man’s chest and he let out a scream.

Blood began to seep out of the wound and it was oozing down his chest, but, Ember was not done.

While the dagger was deep inside the man’s chest, her hand was moving left and right, causing the wound to open even more and the flesh to get torn apart.

"Argggghhh,"

The man’s screams didn’t die down, and his mouth was wide open.

His eyes were also wide and tears were trickling down his cheeks.

Saying it, Ember pulled the dagger out of the man’s chest and blood came out gushing.

The man withered and wriggled in pain and was not able to stay still.

However, Ember was not bothered by his struggles and just continued.

Saying it, the girl moved her hands a bit and plunged the dagger into a different place.

She did the same as before and plunged the dagger inside his body in his abdomen.

After saying that, Ember took the dagger out and stood up, and the man was now lying on the ground, his eyes wide open and his mouth gaping.

His chest was moving up and down with sudden movements and the pool of blood beneath him was increasing.

The white, foam-like liquid was coming out of his mouth and he was barely conscious.

Soon, after a moment of relentless swerving, the man’s eyes glazed over and his movement halted, and he finally died.

However, even after his death, the system was continuously sending notifications to Ember.

The last notification appeared and disappeared but Ember was just standing there with her eyes wide open and her hand trembling.
