Chapter 86: The Unyielding Vampire Queen

Chapter 86: The Unyielding Vampire Queen

As he was laying against the hard and rough surface of the tree, Nell didn’t have the strength to lift his hand, let alone do anything else.

The reincarnation stuff, him killing Ember, and her being his wife in the past life too, everything was just too much, and his brain was having a hard time processing all of it.

It wouldn’t have mattered to him if he and Ember were only reincarnated, but, when the husband killing his wife adds up to the story that is when his worries wouldn’t leave him.

He was just laying there with his eyes closed and body relaxed, and was not planning to do anything else.

Well, it wasn’t like his body was hurt or was tired, no, he was just emotionally drained and needed some time to get over the doubtable fact that was given to him.

He still had the urge to deny everything and was denying it with his entire willpower, and yet, a voice at the back of his head was telling him that he couldn’t ignore the dreams he had every night.

’They weren’t dreams, they were nightmares.’

Nell corrected himself, and the corner of his mouth twitched, as the memories of his nightmares came rushing back.

In those dreams, he was always standing in front of a person, a person who he was married to.

Sometimes, he would strangle her with his own hands, and other times, he would watch as she slaughtered him with her bare hands.

No matter how many times he watched his wife killing him in the dream, the pain in his chest was just the same.

Maybe, those are alternate future versions of what was going to happen.

He wasn’t sure but it wasn’t impossible.

There was a high chance of it happening.

’If I put all the things happening around me together then I think it makes sense.’

The voice notifying him of his past life sins, the dreams in which there is only blood, the strange connection he has with Ember after just a few days of meeting her, and the weird feeling in his chest when he looks at her, all of them make sense.

’I think...’

He thought and opened his eyes before slowly sitting up straight and looking at his hands.

’I must have been a terrible husband in my past life.’

That’s what Nell was thinking, and that’s why his hands were slightly trembling and his eyes had a small hint of fear and sadness.

He was scared. Not because of the thought of his death, but, because of his guilt and the thought of him being a bad husband.

He was scared because of the unknown future and the fact that if Ember remembered whatever had happened in her past life, she would completely break down.

She had already suffered a lot, and he didn’t want her to suffer even more.

He knew how she lost her parents and brother five years ago, and knew how she was suffering for the last five years.

It was an unknown, unnatural, and unexplainable pain that made him feel a burning sensation in his chest, and an overwhelming desire to hold her in his arms and hug her when he heard her stories.

She had told him everything about her life and her parents, and although it wasn’t much, Nell didn’t miss the sadness and pain in her voice and eyes.

So if she ever came to know that the only person she believed in, and the only person she held close to her heart, was the person who killed her in her past life, what would happen to her?

’No, she can neve—’

Boom~!

Before Nellas could finish his thoughts a loud explosion shook the entire 1st floor and cracks in the ground began to spiderweb toward him from afar.

His eyes were widened, and the color had vanished from his face.

These cracks were coming from his right, where the entrance of the dungeon was.

Nell’s body was frozen, and the ground beneath him was trembling as a powerful wave of aura and a strong wind blew through his body.

The trees were moving along the wind, and the ground was cracking due to the immense amount of energy.

Nellas, too, was also blown away a few meters and his body was pressed against another nearby tree.

"What’s happening?!"

Nell yelled, stood up from the ground, and looked at the source of the explosion.

His hands were shaking, and the veins on his forehead were throbbing, indicating the nervousness and tension he was feeling.

"Shit! Don’t tell me!?"

He let out in a low tone and gritted his teeth, as his legs moved and carried him as fast as they could toward the place where the cracks originated.

Soon, after some minutes of running, and enduring heavy waves of air blowing against his body, Nell reached the dungeon entrance.

There, he saw Lunéa standing there with her clothes having some tears, and there were a few cuts on her exposed skin.

Her face was emotionless, and her gaze was fixed on a certain point.

Nell was curious as to what she was looking at, and so, he moved his head, and his eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat.

He felt a lump forming in his throat and the air in his lungs froze.

His whole body trembled, and his legs felt weak.

He didn’t have the courage to say anything and just kept his eyes on the two figures, who were standing opposite of each other.

’Mr. Knight?’

His eyes were locked on the person in silver armor, whose face was hidden behind the helmet.

He knew this person.

It was Mr. Knight.

However, he wasn’t the only one to concern Nell. The other two people standing behind the knight also caught his attention.

He knew who these two were.

One was Divine Maiden and the other was her boss, Divine Slayer.

"Hmm, you are quite strong. I am actually impressed."

Divine Maiden spoke and took a step forward causing the cracks on the ground to spread and a soft breeze to blow.

"You held on for a very long time against him, and that is something that we didn’t expect."

The woman’s words were calm, and she had a smile on her face.

It was as if she was talking about a simple game that someone played instead of a life-and-death battle.

"But, I am sorry. It’s your loss."

Saying it, she lifted her hand causing a humongous sword to materialize in the sky, right above Lunéa.

"Die."

With a slight movement of her fingers, the sword plunged down with an enormous force.

The blade was glowing brightly, and the air was screaming, but, the sword didn’t make contact with the Vampire Queen’s body.

No, the blade had pierced through the ground and had split the land in half.

"Huh?!"

Divine Maiden’s mouth was hanging, and her eyes were wide open.

She was sure that she aimed correctly and was sure that the Vampire Queen didn’t have the power to escape or block the sword.

So, why is it that the person she wanted to kill was still standing a few meters away from her, and not dead?

’Did I miss her?’

She thought, but that wasn’t possible.

Because, her sword, which was 30 meters in length and 10 meters in width, couldn’t have missed.

’Then how?’

Her lips parted and her eyes narrowed.

She wanted to ask how, but, she didn’t have the time as the Vampire Queen raised her head and looked at her with her crimson eyes.

Her face was expressionless, and she wasn’t showing any emotions, but her eyes were gleaming brightly.

"Heh,"

Suddenly, the corner of Lunéa’s lips curled up, and a chuckle left her mouth.

"Heh, hehe,"

Her chuckle soon turned into hysterical laughter, and her head tilted backward.

"HAHAHAHA!"

She was laughing and her shoulders were slightly shaking.

The laughter continued, and after a few seconds, the Vampire Queen stopped laughing and lowered her head before opening her mouth and speaking in a low tone.

"Is this your best?"

A smile was still on her face, and her crimson eyes were filled with confidence and joy.

"Now, do you want me to show you my best?"

Saying it, she raised her hand which soon got covered by a red smoke-like aura.

The aura was red and thick, and it looked really sinister and was spreading around her arm.

"Kneel,"

With just a slight movement of Lunéa’s finger, Mr. Knight, Divine Slayer, and Divine Maiden felt an enormous pressure pinning them down.
