Chapter 84: Unwelcome Guests

Once the trio was inside the dungeon, the dungeon entrance vanished again and the crowd began to scatter.

After some time, only a few people were left and even they were leaving.

Divine Maiden’s words were not just a joke, after all.

It was an order, and it was clear that she didn’t want anyone to be there when she would come back.

So, no one would dare to risk staying there.

"Do you really think he is here?" The words were the ones Divine Maiden heard as soon as she entered the dungeon.

They were said by her boss, Divine Slayer, who had dark lines under his eyes due to not sleeping for the last few days and his body was a bit skinnier than before, indicating his malnutrition.

"Yeah, he is,"

Divine Maiden replied and moved her gaze to her left side and continued, "Isn’t that right?"

She said, and the person, who was the target of her words, appeared out of thin air.

"Yeah, I have been following him for a few days after you ordered me, and I have found a few things."

The person said and Mr. Knight, while keeping his eyes on him, asked, "A few things?"

"Yes, Mr. Knight."

The person answered and nodded his head.

"The night before he came inside the dungeon. He went to an anonymous old man’s house where he got an artifact which changed his appearance and even his voice."

The person continued speaking.

He was sent to watch Nell’s every move by Divine Maiden.

He had been spying on the man and had found that he had been living with a blind girl which he refers to as his wife.

However, from the info he got from Divine Maiden, Nellas isn’t married.

’I don’t know who this girl is, but, she is definitely not his wife. She is too young to be his wife.’

He thought and added, "Moreover, there is a girl who is living with him. They call each other husband and wife, but, from the info Divine Maiden gave me he isn’t supposed to be married."

Hearing him, Mr. Knight and Divine Maiden stayed silent and didn’t say anything, prompting him to add, "That’s all."

He was finished speaking and the atmosphere was silent.

However, after some time, Divine Maiden, who had her hands crossed and had a deep frown on her face, broke the silence.

"Alright, you have done a good job. Now, all you have to do is to go and kill his so-called wife."

She ordered, and the man bowed his head before vanishing, leaving the trio behind.

"Boss,"

Divine Maiden called, and the person she was referring to raised his head to look at her but didn’t say anything.

Seeing her boss’s action, Divine Maiden took a deep breath and spoke again.

"Let’s go and kill the person who killed your wife."

Hearing her words, Divine Slayer’s eyes twitched and he gritted his teeth before clenching his fists.

His knuckles were white, and his body was shaking, but, he didn’t say anything and just nodded his head.

He already knew that his wife wasn’t killed in a Breakout, instead, she was killed by someone, and as of now that ’someone’ was in this very dungeon.

Divine Maiden had told her everything since she didn’t want her boss to keep blaming himself and live in depression.

That was not the boss she respected.

The person who stood in front of her was not the one she followed.

That was why she revealed the truth and helped her boss recover from his grief.

Now, the Divine Slayer was back and he had his will and desire to take revenge.

’Now, there is nothing to stop us.’

Thinking that Divine Maiden began to walk forward with the men following her from behind.

However, before they could even take some steps ahead, the ground beneath them shook and a figure appeared in front of them.

"Hello, I have been sent by the Vampire God."

It was a vampire. He had one of his hands on his chest and the other on his back while he was bowing his head.

Divine Maiden’s brows were furrowed, and she opened her mouth and asked, "Vampire God?"

"Yes,"

The Vampire answered and raised his head.

"I am a Vampire."

He introduced himself and smiled before adding, "And, the Vampire God is the current ruler of the dungeon."

The trio was silent, and the vampire also didn’t say anything.

He was just standing there with a smile on his face and his hands in the same posture.

"Can I ask the reason for your intrusion?"

He was the one who broke the silence and asked, but, Divine Maiden didn’t answer and continued looking at the man.

Her eyes were moving and were scanning the vampire from top to bottom.

To her he didn’t seem that powerful, but, she knew that looks can be deceiving.

"Can I ask the reason for your intrusion?"

The Vampire asked once again, and this time the Divine Maiden answered.

"No,"

She replied and raised her hand causing five swords glowing with golden light to appear in the air.

The Vampire was shocked, and his eyes widened as his lips parted.

He wanted to say something, but, before he could say anything, his body was pierced by the five swords and blood came out of his mouth.

"Ugh-"

A small groan left his mouth, and the crimson glow in his eyes faded.

"Hmmm,"

Divine Maiden didn’t say anything and pulled her hand down causing the swords to vanish.

The weakened vampire looked at the woman with his pale eyes and fell to the ground with a loud thud.

"No, I don’t want to tell you the reason."

The Divine Maiden stated and looked at the ground where the dead vampire was lying.

Blood was flowing out of all the wounds and was staining the ground red.

"Heh,"

With a chuckle, Divine Maiden shook her head and began to walk forward.

Her pace was fast, and in the next moment, the trio had vanished, leaving the vampire’s body behind.

However, as they were walking in search of Nellas, another vampire appeared in front of them.

This time it wasn’t just any normal vampire, but, Lunéa, the Vampire Queen, herself.

She had come back to the first floor to keep an eye on Nellas, and as she was doing so, she sensed three really strong presences entering the dungeon.

Because of this, she had no other choice but to send a vampire to ask about their intentions.

But, it was unfortunate that she didn’t get a positive answer, and her messenger died a gruesome death.

She could feel her blood boiling, but, she wasn’t the one to act irrationally.

"What is your purpose for forcing your way inside our dungeon?"

Lunéa asked, but the Divine Maiden didn’t say anything and just looked at the woman in front of her with an emotionless face.

"Huh?!"

The Divine Maiden let out a weird sound, and her eyes narrowed as her gaze moved from Lunéa to back at her companions.

"Another one?"

The Divine Maiden wondered, and her eyes returned to look at the Vampire Queen who was looking at her with her eyes narrowed.

"You," Lunéa began and pointed at the trio as she continued, "All of you. Do you think you are invincible or something?!"

"No," Divine Maiden shook her head and a smile formed on her lips as she took a step forward and replied, "We are not invincible. In fact, we are not even trying to fight against you."

Hearing the woman’s words, Lunéa was a bit confused and her face changed as she wondered.

"What are you trying to say?"

Lunéa’s confusion was evident, and Divine Maiden was able to easily read her expression, however, she didn’t reveal the truth and simply added, "We are here because we need someone. Not because we are looking for a fight."

Lunéa wasn’t buying her words and was not going to allow the intruder to continue any further.

If someone had broken into their home then they were either looking for a fight or a treasure.

Those simple ’looking for someone’ words didn’t convince her, and she had no doubt in her mind that the trio were definitely after something.

"I don’t know who this person you are looking for is, but I can assure you that no one is here."

Lunéa’s crimson eyes began to shine with a soft yet intense glow.

It was like the rays of the setting sun falling on the seawater and spreading through the vast ocean.

"If I were you then I would leave before I kill you."

Her words were simple and the threat in them was obvious.

But, it didn’t have any effect on the Divine Maiden, who didn’t even move her dark eyebrows and didn’t change her expression.

She was still looking at the Vampire Queen with her eyes half-closed.

"Leave."

Lunéa repeated her previous order, but the trio was still not doing anything and was not showing any signs of leaving.

"Are you deaf?!"

The Vampire Queen snapped and clenched her fists.

"Look," Divine Maiden let out a heavy sigh and opened her mouth to continue, "We aren’t here for a treasure or a fight, and I can guarantee that no one will get hurt. We are only here for one person. So, please, let us go and find him."

Lunéa didn’t reply and remained silent.

Her mind was telling her that the people in front of her were bad news, and she was already getting goosebumps.

’My instincts are never wrong, but...’

With a small sigh, she parted her lips and said, "I have already told you that no one is here."

"Oh~" Divine Maiden let out an exaggerated voice and tilted her head.

"You aren’t gonna let us leave peacefully, right?"

Saying that she turned her head to look at Mr. Knight who was standing beside her.

"Can you take care of her?"

She asked because she knew that the vampire woman in front of her wasn’t just a simple vampire, and if they wanted to leave safely, then the woman in front of them had to die.

Hearing the Divine Maiden’s words, Mr. Knight didn’t say anything, but instead, nodded his head and a grin appeared on his face.
