Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster -
Chapter 83: The Strongest Trio
Chapter 83: The Strongest Trio
It had already been past noon and the sun was at the highest point it could be.
The scorching heat was burning the earth, and the atmosphere was so dry and humid that anyone could feel the dryness in their lungs.
The temperature was so high that if a normal person were to stay outside, then their skin would surely burn.
However, the Heroes, the live streamers, and the news anchors were completely fine and didn’t have any problems.
That was because the temperature was not a problem for them.
They had even bigger things to worry about.
Such as waiting for the dungeon entrance to open.
Because of their impatience, everyone had their eyes glued on the dungeon and their hearts were beating fast.
Their breaths were quick, and they were constantly gulping.
Their bodies were covered with sweat and their faces were red due to the heat.
"Just when is he gonna come out?"
A voice filled with annoyance escaped one of the anchor’s mouths, and others nodded their heads.
"I know. It has been already too long. We are getting tired of standing here."
Another voice was heard and the man who had just talked couldn’t help but add, "It has already been more than 10 hours. If I knew that it would take this long, then I would have prepared myself."
"Well, I wouldn’t." A female anchor spoke up and the man turned his head to look at her before questioning, "What do you mean?"
The female anchor pulled her phone out of her pocket and showed him the screen, in which an article was displaying.
"The Authorities have already come to a conclusion with other guilds. They are gonna send Mr. Knight, Divine Slayer, and Divine Maiden, the strongest Heroes of the country to deal with the dungeon."
The female anchor explained and the other anchor’s eyes widened in surprise.
"Wait, aren’t they the ones who are in the top 3? How can they send them here? I thought they were busy."
"No," Another voice was heard and a middle-aged man stood up from his chair and walked towards the other anchors.
"From the reports we have got from the Authorities, it seems that Mr. Knight and the others are the ones who asked them for this."
"Why?"
"I don’t know the real reason. But, from what I know they say that they had some personal issues to resolve inside the dungeon."
"What?! Personal issues? What kind of reason is that?!"
The other anchors were a bit annoyed and angry, and the middle-aged man raised his hands to calm them down.
"Don’t be mad. I know you are upset, and I also want to know the reason, but, we can’t do anything. The higher-ups are the ones who give the order, not us."
He said and everyone lowered their heads.
Their gazes fell on the floor and the anger in their hearts was quickly replaced with a feeling of defeat.
They couldn’t do anything.
Because they were just mere anchors.
So, they just sat there and waited for the Heroes to come.
....
Inside the red car that was parked a bit further from the scene, Marine was also reading the same article the anchor had read.
"Aisha,"
She called her friend and the girl who was watching the situation happening outside the car replied, "Yes?"
"Look," Marine turned the phone towards her and showed her the news article.
"It says that the strongest Heroes of our country will come here. Mr. Knight, Divine Slayer, and the Divine Maiden. They are all coming here."
Marine stated and Aisha’s eyes widened, "What?"
She was a bit surprised and her eyes instantly moved to the top left of the screen where the official logo of the Authorities was, indicating the reliability of the information.
"That’s a shocker. The Heroes are actually going to come here."
She said and looked at Marine who was holding the phone.
"I can understand that Divine Slayer and Divine Maiden are coming since they work for Authorities, but, Mr. Knight? I thought he was just an open-minded guy who only listened to his heart. Isn’t he the one who always did what he wanted to? Why is he following the orders now?"
Aisha finished speaking and Marine just shrugged her shoulders.
"I don’t know. Whatever the reason is we can now go back. And, we don’t need to worry about the dungeon anymore."
She said and Aisha agreed with her.
"Yeah, we don’t need to."
With that, the conversation between the two ended, and Aisha started the engine of the car.
Then, after looking around, she pulled out from the spot and drove the car away from the area.
Around 6-7 minutes later of their departure, a black car stopped not far away from where the anchors and the streamers were standing.
The doors of the car opened and two men and one woman stepped out of it.
"Haaah~"
With a long sigh, Mr. Knight looked at the crowd of reporters and the gathered Heroes.
His face was tired, and he was not in the mood to speak up, let alone answer any questions.
As for the others, Divine Slayer and Divine Maiden, they were also not in the mood and had dark, serious, and stern looks on their faces.
Which was why none of them said anything and just walked toward the place where many Heroes were standing.
However, the silence between the three couldn’t last long, as the anchors didn’t let this opportunity go.
They all ran toward them and with a big smile on his face, one of the anchors raised his microphone and asked, "Hello, Mr. Knight, I have a question for you. If you are here then does it mean that you are the one who will be taking charge of the dungeon?"
Hearing it, Mr. Knight stopped walking and turned his head toward the reporter.
The Heroes and the other Anchors were also looking at him, and he, who was feeling a bit annoyed, just glared at the reporter for a moment before turning around and continuing his walk.
"..."
A few seconds of silence enveloped the place and the reporter who had asked the question began to tremble in the fear of the eyes that were piercing through his very soul.
’T-those eyes.’
He had never felt such a fear, and it was so strong that he felt a shiver run down his spine.
"I think you should have not asked him that question."
"..."
Another reporter said it and the reporter who was still shivering, shook his head and took a deep breath to calm himself.
"I-I know."
His reply was short and after that, no one said anything.
They all stayed silent and didn’t say a single word as the three strongest Heroes made their way towards the place where the dungeon’s entrance existed before Nellas went in.
Soon, the trio reached the place and without wasting a second, Divine Slayer raised his hand while opening his palm and pointed it at the space in front of him.
Instantly, the air in front of him began to swirl, and a portal, that was surrounded by golden light, was formed.
Seeing this, the eyes of the people present around them widened and their jaws dropped.
The reporters were in disbelief, and they had an incredulous expression on their faces.
As for the other Heroes, they had envious looks on their faces, and the desire to be able to use this skill was clearly visible in their eyes.
’So cool!’
’Amazing!’
’Wow!’
Those were the thoughts that were going inside their heads.
It was their first time seeing such a cool move.
Since every dungeon’s entrance would disappear once someone entered them, so having the ability to open the portals that would lead to the same dungeon was a great ability.
"Let’s go."
Divine Slayer said and Mr. Knight nodded her head, but, that wasn’t the case for Divine Maiden.
"You two go ahead."
She said and the two men turned their heads towards her, who continued, "I am gonna follow you in a minute. There’s something I need to take care of."
Divine Maiden said and the two didn’t ask her anything and just nodded their heads before disappearing into the portal that was still swirling.
"Haaah~"
The instant her friends had gone inside, Divine Maiden sighed and turned around to look at the crowd of the reporters and the Heroes.
Her eyes swept through the faces of the people present, and after what felt like an eternity to the others, her eyes stopped wandering.
"Listen, you can stay here as long as you want. But, when I come back, you all better get the fuck out of here."
She said, and with that, she turned around and disappeared into the portal, just like how the other two did before.
The instant she left, the portal disappeared, and the anchors were a bit shocked and surprised at what had just happened.
"Uhh..."
"Well, I guess that is our signal to leave."
"..."
Some of them had a confused look on their faces, and the others simply said what was on their mind, as the atmosphere had turned awkward.
