Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster
Chapter 73: The Ultra Sonic Vampire Bats

Chapter 73: The Ultra Sonic Vampire Bats

"Chaaaa!!!"

The Ultra Sonic Vampire Bats attacked, and Nellas, who was in the center of the formation, couldn’t handle the ultrasonic waves as the high-pitched sounds penetrated his eardrums.

It was painful and he couldn’t take such a blow to his senses.

It was unbearable and the bow that he was holding left his hand as the pain in his ears got worse.

"ARGH!!!"

The man screamed and his hands quickly covered his ears.

It didn’t help, however, and the man, whose head was throbbing and his ears were ringing, was unable to do anything as the bats were circling around him and were simultaneously using their natural sonar on him.

"Chaaaa!!"

Their screeches were loud and the sound waves were hitting him from every direction.

His whole body was in pain, and the man couldn’t even open his eyes as his eardrums were about to explode.

It was so painful that his ears had begun to bleed and the red liquid was rolling down his arms, neck, and chin.

Yet, the bats didn’t stop and their attacks were only getting louder.

So, the man, who was in the center of the storm, couldn’t help but scream and scream until his throat got dry.

"ARGH!!!"

He didn’t even realize that he was no longer able to feel his legs and that he had already fallen on the ground.

He was withering on the ground and as the pain grew and his body twitched, his mind finally lost its sanity and he went unconscious.

"ARGHHHH!!!!!"

With a final cry, his world went black and his body stilled.

Nevertheless, the bats didn’t stop their attacks and were continuously using their ultrasonic waves on his body.

"Chaaaa!!"

However, even though his body had lost its soul and his mind had gone blank, his heart was still beating.

The bats may not know about it but the shadow woman did.

The shadow was not far, and she was standing behind the tree while watching the whole ordeal.

She was waiting for Nellas to die or for him to wake up and destroy the bats.

But, it didn’t seem like it was happening because she could feel his heartbeat getting weaker and weaker.

"Tch, Is this how the Hero is going to die?"

She couldn’t help but click her tongue and the next moment her form vanished from the spot and appeared at the place where Nellas was lying.

Then, she took a glance at the bats and raised one of her hands as a shadowy mist surrounded her.

"Get down,"

Her tone was cold, and the next thing the bats knew was their bodies being controlled and forced to hit the ground.

The creatures couldn’t utter a screech as the force that was holding their bodies was crushing their internal organs.

"Ugh..."

It was an intense pain and the bats could only feel their bones shattering and their bodies tearing.

Their forms were crushed, and, after a few seconds, only their corpses and a puddle of blood covering the ground could be seen.

As for Nellas, his body was in a pitiful condition and his heart had already stopped.

He was dead.

"Hmph,"

The woman snorted and shook her head.

"This is just pathetic. I can’t believe the Hero died so easily."

Her tone was mocking, and a sigh left her lips as she stared at the guy.

"I guess we will have to stay bored until someone else comes to clear the dungeon."

Saying that she walked closer to the guy’s corpse and stretched her arm towards him.

Then, with her hand, she turned him around so that his face was facing the sky.

She stared at him for some time before her lips moved and some words came out of her mouth.

"He is dead."

She whispered, and she moved her hand to touch the guy’s face.

"It’s a shame, really. I thought he would be able to entertain us a bit more. However, he died so easily."

Her fingers rubbed the guy’s chin which was drenched in blood coming from his ears.

And a few moments later, a voice spoke in response to her previous words.

"Yeah, whatever. Now, come back here. It’s boring without you."

The Vampire God’s voice was heard, and the shadow woman, whose eyes were fixated on Nellas, nodded her head as she replied.

"Sure. Just wait for a bit. I will bring him with me."

"Hmph, whatever. But don’t take long. I can’t wait forever."

Vampire God’s voice didn’t sound happy and the woman couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as she muttered, "Sure," under her breath.

Then, the woman didn’t waste a moment to grab Nellas and carried him over her shoulder.

She was going to take him with her.

There was no specific reason or anything behind her actions.

She just wanted to take him with her.

’It would be a waste to not make use of him.’

The woman thought and was just about to walk away but before she could do that Nell’s voice reached her ears.

"Where are you taking me, miss Always Shut Up Woman?"

"Wha—"

The woman was surprised, and her eyes widened as she turned her head around and saw the guy staring at her with a grin.

"Hi, miss Always Shut Up."

Nellas was smiling and the woman, who was not expecting him to talk, was a bit dumbfounded.

"Wait, what? You are not dead?"

The shadow woman was a bit confused, and Nellas, whose body was lying on the woman’s shoulders, shrugged his shoulders as his grin got wider.

"Sorry, miss Always Shut Up. I faked my death by stopping my heart since I have undead powers."

Nellas explained, and upon hearing, the woman threw his body off her shoulder.

The man hit the ground with a loud thud and a groan left his mouth.

"Ow."

He had used his intelligence to make his heart stop beating with the help of the system and the fact that he was a Dark Zombie who was an undead creature also helped him.

However, stopping his heart didn’t mean he didn’t get any damage, and the impact of being thrown off the woman’s shoulder was hard enough to leave him dizzy for a few moments.

"So, you tricked me into helping you. Huh, I can’t believe I was fooled by someone so easily."

The shadow woman was not pleased by the turn of events and a snort escaped her mouth.

She was angry, and her voice was a bit louder than normal.

"That’s low, Hero. Do you know that?"

She asked, and Nellas, who was rubbing his head, let a small laugh escape his lips.

"Hahaha. Sorry, Miss. My plan wasn’t to trick you but to fool the bats. But you came and killed them before I could get a chance."

The guy explained and the woman didn’t know whether to be angry or embarrassed.

She was conflicted and didn’t say anything in return.

As for Nellas, he couldn’t help but grin even wider as he stood up and took a step forward.

"Now that the 100 bats have been killed, does that mean I have passed the trial?"

The man questioned, and the shadow woman’s silence continued for a few moments before her voice reached his ears.

"Yeah, since the goal was you coming out of the encounter alive. You have passed."

The woman explained, and Nell’s expression became a bit brighter as he said, "Great,"

He didn’t even have to fight, yet he had passed the trial.

It was great and the man was a bit happy.

’Hehehe, I knew if I died you would come to get my body at the very least. After all, you can’t waste the blood I have in my body.’

The man was clever, and he knew that the woman was going to take his body with her, so, he decided to die and let her kill the bats.

It was a good plan and the man had succeeded.

Of course, his death wasn’t permanent, and he knew that his plan had a very slim chance of succeeding, so, the man was a bit lucky too.

After all, there were two ways this plan could have ended.

The first one was, the shadow woman didn’t come to save him and he was on his own.

That way he would have to transform the bow into something that could cover his ears.

Like a pair of headphones or something.

However, the bats’ sonar could penetrate any material so that would not have worked either.

But, at least it would have decreased the damage a bit.

Anyway, the point was, the second option, which was the one that happened, where the shadow woman had come and helped him.

And, the man had not expected it.

At all.

The man was grateful and the shadow woman, who had not realized that she was played, was a bit annoyed.

Nevertheless, the two, with the shadow breaking the silence, began to talk about the second trial.

"The second trial will start now. Please, follow me."

The shadow woman led Nellas and the guy followed behind her as they went to the place where the 2nd trial would happen.
