Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster -
Chapter 67: Into the Void
Chapter 67: Into the Void
There was darkness everywhere.
A deep void.
Nothing was there.
It was peaceful.
It was the end.
Death.
That’s what this place was.
It was death.
However, the peace didn’t last long, and suddenly, something began to appear.
It was small.
Yet, its existence was clear.
A small photo, or to say a drawing.
A girl’s drawing.
It was glowing in the dark.
A small blue glow.
It was coming from the drawing and the glow was spreading.
However, it was not fast.
It was slow.
Very, very slow.
But, the glow was spreading, and after some time, it had spread to most of the void.
Yet, it wasn’t enough.
And it didn’t stop.
Instead, it continued to grow and expand.
Until it had consumed even the last particle of darkness.
Now, the darkness was gone.
Replaced by the blue glow.
"E-Ember?"
At that time, a voice could be heard, a shocked, surprised, and somewhat confused voice.
Its cause was the girl in the drawing.
She was wearing a blue dress which was long enough to be on the ground behind her if she were to walk, and the design looked similar to a princess’ attire.
The color of the dress was a bit different and the fabric used for it looked like silk.
On her head, a crown was covering her crimson hair, and her hands were stretched forward as if she was going to hug someone.
’What is this?’
Nellas was also floating in that void lightened up by the blue glow.
His hands and his feet were moving as if he was in the water, and his eyes were wide open.
However, his attention was not focused on the things around him.
No, instead, his gaze was fixed on the girl in the drawing.
It seemed to be one of the old-times drawings when Kings, Queens, and princesses were quite common, and it was clear that the person in the picture was a princess.
But, the most shocking part was that this princess was none other than Ember.
"How is that possible?"
Nellas was dumbfounded and his mind couldn’t process the fact.
This drawing was completely different from the one he had created with his wife sitting beside him.
However, the girl was the same but he was nowhere to be found in the picture.
Which was strange, since the drawing was supposed to be a couple.
’What is going on?’
He thought and was about to move, when, suddenly, the blue glow began to get dim, and a few seconds later, everything went dark.
.
.
.
"Wha... What happened?"
Nellas turned his head to the side, and his eyes looked around.
But, the drawing was long gone and so was the blue glow.
’Am I dead?’
He asked himself and a small frown appeared on his face.
He clearly remembered how the vampires had attacked him and his neck was torn apart.
So, the most palpable answer would be that he had died.
Yet, his body was feeling fine.
It wasn’t cold, and neither was it warm.
In fact, he felt great, and his neck didn’t hurt either.
It was strange and the guy couldn’t help but feel confused.
’I am not dead? Or am I?’
As the man was thinking, a voice, which suddenly reached his ears, interrupted his thoughts.
"So, you are awakened, Demon Lord. Huh?"
The voice was mocking, and Nell couldn’t help but look ahead to where the voice was coming from.
’Demon Lord?’
He repeated in his mind and his brows furrowed.
"Who are you calling Demon Lord?"
He asked, and the reply he received was not a voice, instead, it was a laugh.
"Hahahahaha, you can’t remember me? Oh, how pitiful."
A sigh could be heard after the strange voice, and then, it continued.
"Do you remember what you have done? No, how about who you killed?"
The voice was getting louder, and Nell’s brows twitched as a feeling of unease rose inside him.
"Do you know, the number of people who have died because of you? Do you know, the number of people who had perished because of your hands?"
It was taunting, and Nellas, who was a little confused, couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
"Sorry, but I don’t think we have met before. And, no, I am not a murderer. At least not of innocent people. So, tell me, who are you?"
The guy replied and the voice stopped for a moment.
The silence was loud and the tension was building.
The man was not nervous, and his heart was beating calmly, and the voice, after a moment of silence, finally spoke.
"I can’t believe it. You don’t remember. I can’t believe that you forgot. Hahahaha, no, this is just a joke, right? Yeah, it is a joke. There is no way a man like you can forget."
Saying that the voice let out a heavy sigh, and Nellas, who couldn’t make sense of the conversation, was about to say something when, suddenly, the voice spoke again.
"Well, then. I guess I will have to help you remember how you killed innocent people, and destroyed many, many lives."
The strange voice seemed so calm and composed, yet, it had an odd coldness to it which sent a shiver down Nell’s spine.
’What is this? What is he talking about?’
Questions began to pop up in his mind, and as the guy was getting more and more anxious, the voice continued.
"Let me tell you a story. A story of a man who tore apart his own wife’s body.
A man, whose name was...
Nellas Starlight.
Yeah, Nellas Starlight."
The name, the identity, was like a thunder to the guy, and the blood in his veins boiled, and his body became hot.
"What?"
The reply he gave was filled with confusion, anger, and disbelief.
He was feeling a lot of emotions, and his eyes widened a little.
"What did you say? Repeat your words, I didn’t hear it correctly."
He asked, his voice was a little shaky.
"No, no, you heard it correctly, Demon Lord."
The voice mocked and the next words it spoke were like a punch to the guy’s gut.
"Nellas Starlight, a man, or should we say a monster, who ripped apart his wife. And do you know who his wife was? No? Well, then, I will tell you."
The voice stopped, and the guy was feeling restless as the emotions in him were rising.
"His wife was none other than...
The girl in the drawing that was floating in front of you.
Ember.
Ember Starlight.
She was your wife."
