Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster -
Chapter 65: Baiting the Bloodied Darkness
Chapter 65: Baiting the Bloodied Darkness
Back Inside the dungeon...
After some time, around half an hour, the sky had gotten really dark and Nellas who was sitting by the fire had his eyes closed as he was thinking about something.
Something that was making him quite restless.
And the thought, the reason, the cause, was none other than the fact that this dungeon had the type of monsters he had not expected to face so soon.
"Why does it have to be the Vampire God?" He asked out loud and a weary sigh escaped his mouth.
It was hard for him to accept it.
The reason?
Well, it was pretty simple.
Because, in his previous life, he had seen many types of monsters, and amongst them, a few were considered to be the most powerful.
Let’s just take one of them as an example, the ’Dragons’.
Yeah, the dragons.
Cause they were the most terrifying and strongest beasts.
Their claws were sharp enough to rip apart a giant ship, and their breaths could burn a whole city in a matter of seconds.
They were not monsters, but, rather, they were Gods.
And Nellas had not met one.
He had never seen a real dragon, and the same was true for the other beasts.
However, the vampire race was different.
Yes, he had not seen them either.
Nevertheless, they were not a rare type.
No, not at all.
Because the vampires were everywhere.
They were not beasts, nor gods.
Yet, they were considered to be the strongest type.
There was also a thing that happened to vampires in his past life.
Right one year before the Ragnarok, the Vampire God who was stuck in one of the dungeons was somehow able to get out of it.
At that time, a Breakout had also happened.
And it had been the worst ever.
The vampires were not interested in ruling the world, and neither were they interested in killing everyone.
No, they were just doing something that was natural for them.
Feeding.
And what did they feed on?
They fed on the blood of others.
They drank the blood of humans and other races, and the things they ate were not cooked dishes.
Rather, their meal was a human body that was torn apart.
’Vampire God’ was the name Heroes used to address the leader of the vampires, and since the guy was the strongest, he was able to escape the dungeon.
Nevertheless, the Breakout that happened at the same time had let out a dragon.
And, coincidentally, the dungeon from which Vampire God had come out was near to the Breakout.
The dragon was not interested in feeding on the humans, and it had attacked the Vampire God.
So, the two forces met.
That was when everything changed.
It had been the end of the era, and the end of both spices as both leaders, kings, or whatever they were, perished without any chance of revival.
The Vampire was able to hold his own against a god, and not only that he was also able to kill it.
However, the victory was not his, as he himself also died.
Thus, the era ended.
’How can the Vampires be in this dungeon? I thought it was just a rumor since at the time the fight between the Vampire God and the Dragon King happened I was in a faraway place clearing a dungeon, and there wasn’t even a recording of the fight anywhere. Only destruction was visible.’
Nellas couldn’t help but sigh, and the thoughts running through his mind were making him anxious.
He couldn’t help it, after all, the Vampires were the last thing he wanted to see in the dungeon.
Because they were not like the dragons or the beasts.
No, the vampires were smarter and much more dangerous.
’I just hope they don’t know any kind of martial arts.’
Nellas sighed and raised his head as his eyes looked up.
The sky was clear and the stars were shining.
It was a beautiful night, and the fire in front of him was giving him warmth.
Yet, it wasn’t enough to keep the cold away, as a shiver ran through his body, and a moment later, his hand reached for the drawing that was in his pocket.
His fingers wrapped around it and pulled it out, and as the guy stared at the girl in the paper, his lips curved upward.
"Ember."
He called her name and a chuckle escaped his mouth.
The smile on his face was quite genuine, and the coldness was slowly vanishing as his eyes scanned the paper.
’I hope she is doing fine and is not thinking about me.’
Thought the guy and a small frown appeared on his face.
However, it wasn’t long before it got wiped out by the smile, and the guy was about to put the drawing back in the pocket, when suddenly, his senses sharpened and his head turned.
The forest was silent and there was no wind blowing.
Everything was calm, yet, the guy felt as if someone was staring at him.
A second passed, and then another, and a minute went by.
The silence persisted and no sound could be heard.
However, Nellas was certain that someone or something was watching him.
’Seems like they are here. I thought they would show up at midnight but they are early.’
He thought and looked at the grass around him which was drenched with red liquid.
It was the blood that he had shed a few moments ago.
It was intentional and he had done it by purpose.
It had been a bait, and it was clear that the Vampires were taking the bait, and now, the guy just had to make a move and the vampires would attack him.
"Well, then,"
Nellas took a deep breath and stood up.
The blood-soaked grass was under his feet and the fire was in front of him.
In the light of the moon, he was standing with a grin on his face.
"Time for action,"
Saying that he kicked the grass below his feet, and the blood was splashed as it flew up.
A moment later, some humanoid shadows began to appear around him.
Not only that, some group of bats were also flying toward him.
’Just as I thought, the map wasn’t completely true. Since the monsters in front of me are different from what was written on it.’
