Chapter 61: The Shocking Request

"Give me the tape," Ryan’s voice was heard and in the next moment, the man caught the tape that was thrown toward him.

The thing was, Ryan had agreed to help the old man, and since then, he had been busy fixing the switches and was now standing on the chair as he worked.

On the other hand, the old man was standing far from him and was leaning against the table where his assistant was also standing.

The two were silent, and Issac didn’t bother talking to Ryan, as the latter had a habit of not answering, or, if he did, he would just give a single word or sentence as a response.

Furthermore, the old man didn’t care, because, as long as the guy was not taking something that belonged to him, he could do whatever he wanted.

But, Issac was not the only one who was not talking, his assistant, who was also there, was silent, and the only sound she was making was the sound of her breathing.

Nevertheless, her mind was not blank, and the thing she was thinking was how Ryan had become so good at fixing the wires.

Because from what she had observed, the guy had done the work perfectly, and it was not something that could be done by someone who had just learned it.

Ryan did everything so precisely. He knew exactly which wire was connected to what switch, and the speed at which he was doing his work was also incredible.

All this was the reason the woman couldn’t help but stare at him.

’He is a strange man. He doesn’t look like a bad guy, and the way he works is very precise, but it is also very scary.’

Thinking that the woman couldn’t help but frown.

’He looks normal, and one can’t judge him by just looking at him, but what is hidden inside is a different story.’

She thought and a sigh escaped her mouth.

’He also know where the boss’s house is located. It is as if he knows everything about us. It is creepy, and the way Mr. Issac acts with him is very odd too. Seems like Mr. Nellas has something on the boss which he is scared of.’

The woman’s brows furrowed and a serious expression appeared on her face as she was thinking of many possibilities.

Actually, last night, after Nellas had talked to Marine to help him with making Ember a Hero, he had gone to Issac’s house, and in the neighborhood of it, right next to the old man’s, was the woman’s home too.

After all, she was also his assistant and would often work at night or early in the morning.

So, the two would often go to work together, and because thier houses were right next to each other, it wasn’t hard for them to notice when someone had gone in or come out of the other’s house.

Therefore, when Nellas had come to the old man’s home last night, the woman who was reading her favorite manhua ’For my Derelict Beloved’ while sitting near the window of her room, had noticed it.

It was a coincidence and her curiosity had gotten the best of her.

Is he someone the boss knows?

Is he one of his relatives?

No, wait, he doesn’t have any.

Then who is he?

Why was he here?

And most importantly, why was the boss not sending him away?

These questions and a lot of others were running in her mind and the urge to know the answers was overwhelming.

So, without any second thought, she grabbed her phone and went to the old man’s home.

That was when the woman had seen something incredible.

Nellas had left the home just when she was a few steps away from it.

He had been there for a short period.

However, when he was leaving, his whole appearance had changed, and was now looking even more handsome than beofre.

’I wonder what kind of thing he wants from Mr. Issac now? I know it is not an artifact because he already said he doesn’t need it. So, what is it?’

Thought the woman as she looked at the man who was working.

And after staring at Ryan for a while she turned her gaze and looked at her boss.

The old man had his eyes closed and his arms were crossed in front of his chest.

It was clear that he was resting.

He didn’t have a good sleep, and the reason for it was none other than Ryan.

Since last night his mind had been thinking of the consequences that would arise if he met Nellas again.

’Get electrocuted, haha. Let my ears hear your freaking scream when that happens, I am telling you, it will be the best music for me.’

The old man’s eyes were closed but his ears weren’t, they waiting to hear the sound of a human body getting zapped by electricity.

Yet, the sound didn’t reach him, and the longer the silence persisted, the more his heart began to sink.

’Shit! Why is it so quiet? He has to scream or something. He needs to say "ah" or "o" or something, doesn’t he?’

However, no matter how much he wished for it, the silence didn’t end and the longer it was, the more Issac’s mind got clouded.

’This can’t be. He is not getting electrocuted. How is it possible?’

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open and he raised his head and looked at the guy who was standing on the chair.

He saw that Ryan had now finished his work and was closing the board.

His face was not red and his hands were not burnt.

No, there was not even a scratch on him.

’Don’t tell me. He was a professional at this? Was he an electrician or something?’

Issac was stunned, and his mind was filled with questions, while Ryan was also getting down from the chair.

’Oh god! No, no, no, this is not happening.’

The old man was in a panic, and when Ryan finally reached the ground, he hurriedly walked toward him.

"Mr. Nellas,"

"What is it?"

Ryan replied, and his expression was as calm as ever, and no sign of pain could be seen on his face as he looked at the woman after she called him.

"Where you an electrician before? You did everything so perfectly." She asked, and a weary sigh left Ryan’s mouth, before he replied;

"When you have an ill mother to support and when her husband is the worst father on earth, then in just some years you will come to know that you have already mastered more than half the skills that a human can learn. Electrician was just a bonus."

The answer he had given was very honest, and the woman, after listening to it, couldn’t help but fall silent.

Her eyes were focused on the guy’s face, and a moment later, she couldn’t help but think.

’No, not an electrician. You were not an electrician. You were just someone who had a broken life which forced you to learn to fix it.’

Her eyes were shining, and her lips were pressed together as she was looking at Ryan, while the latter had already turned his attention toward the old man.

"I have finished the job, old man. Now, are you going to keep your words or are you going to take the coward’s path and back off?"

Ryan questioned, and Issac’s expression darkened as he looked at the guy in front of him.

"Tsk, I haven’t confirmed it yet, have I? So, let me see your work first."

Saying that the old man walked toward the board and stood a few feet away from it.

’Please, let something be wrong. I am praying, just let something be wrong.’

He wished. But his wish could only stay a wish as everything was done perfectly and there was nothing wrong with Ryan’s work.

’Ah! Shit. Now, I have to give him whatever he asks. This is the worst thing that could happen.’

The old man was annoyed.

But, the more he got annoyed, the more Ryan’s grin was getting wider, and a few minutes later, the latter walked toward him, and standing near him, he asked, "Now, old man, I think it’s time for you to ask me what I want, don’t you think so?"

The voice he used was cold and was like a sharp sword that pierced the old man’s mind and heart.

Issac turned his head and looked at him, and the moment their eyes met, he was unable to utter a single word.

"Alright," After a few seconds of silence, the old man took a deep breath and said, "Let’s get over with this, alright? Just tell me what you want."

His voice was not like before.

It was clear that he had lost, and the more he listened to his own voice, the more his expression would become sour.

"Nothing much," Ryan shook his head. "I..."

"You?" Issac interrupted him, and Ryan’s brow rose a little, and a second later, he continued, "I just want to enter one of the strongest and most dangerous dungeons you own."

As soon as the sentence was said, the woman gasped and her mouth was wide open as she looked at the guy.

On the other hand, the old man’s eyes widened, and he took a step back.

"W-What did you just say?"
