On a tree, near Ember...

Nellas was sitting on a branch and his eyes were looking at his wife, who was lying on the floor and was not moving anymore.

His expression was a bit cold and his face didn’t show any emotion.

’That’s enough. I will go and save her now.’

He didn’t want to push her much, and now he had decided to save her.

’Let’s end her training for today. It’s enough.’

He stood up on the branch before jumping down and landing on the ground.

Then, without wasting any more time, the man ran toward his wife.

However, just when he was about to reach her, the girl’s body twitched, and her hand moved before grabbing a rock that was close to her.

’What?’

Nell was shocked and a bit surprised by her actions, and stopped dashing.

’She is still conscious? How?’

He was sure that she was unconscious a moment ago, and there was no way her mind was working in her condition, but it was not what his eyes were seeing now.

’How is she moving? Did she recover some strength?’

The thoughts in his mind were running wild, and the man stared at his wife, as her hand grabbed the rock and raised it above her head.

"You.. will not take... my husband."

Ember’s voice reached his ears, and her trembling hand threw the rock toward empty space, and a weak thud could be heard as the rock hit the ground.

Nell didn’t know what his wife was doing, because all of these were done unconsciously, and she was not even aware of her surroundings.

So, it was clear that she had thrown the rock toward nothing, and the man thought it was just an action of her unconscious mind.

However, the next scene shocked him.

Where the rock had hit the ground, there was something that quickly ran away before Nell could identify what it was.

’Did she sense it even though she is not conscious?’

It was something impossible, and his mind didn’t want to believe what he had just seen.

Nevertheless, he couldn’t deny that his wife was able to do it, and it made him think about the possibility of her having some sort of instinct.

’Her Monster Nature.’

If it was something related to her Monster Nature, then he understood why she was able to do that.

’Interesting.’

His lips curved into a smile, and Nell looked at his wife, who was now once again unmoving, before walking toward her and kneeling in front of her.

"You really are something, Em."

A soft whisper left his mouth, and he grabbed her in his arms before standing up.

"Let’s go home."

Saying that he turned around and began walking toward their house.

And the black rabbit that was hiding behind a tree, stared at him and his wife before it hopped into a blue portal and disappeared.

After a few minutes, Nellas reached their apartment, where he saw another box of food lying near the door.

’Another box? Who is sending them?’

Again, there was no name, and there was no note, which meant he couldn’t identify the sender.

However, he wasn’t in the mood to care about it, and just grabbed the box, before entering the house and closing the door.

’Today was a great day. Em really is a good girl. I didn’t know she had it in her.’

The man thought as he placed his wife on the sofa before taking a towel and wiping the dirt off of her body.

’However, her mind is still very weak. I have to train her mind as well.’

He continued thinking and after cleaning his wife, Nellas raised his hand and a potion appeared in it.

Then, he grabbed his wife’s head and brought the bottle near her lips, before opening it and pouring the liquid inside her mouth.

’I have to make her stronger.’

A few drops entered her mouth, and the man removed the bottle before he placed two fingers on her lips and closed them so that she would not spill the liquid.

"Don’t worry, Ember, I will make you a great Hero."

"I promise."

Saying that, Nell leaned closer to his wife and his lips placed a kiss on her forehead before the man moved away.

’But, before that, your mind has to be strong enough so that you won’t lose your sanity in a dungeon.’

A strange smile surfaced on his face, and his eyes began to glow brightly.

’And I will help you with it.’

Thinking that, he walked to his neighbor’s house and knocked on the door.

’Come on, Marine. I need you tonight.’

He wanted the woman to come out, but the door wasn’t opening, which made Nell a bit confused.

’Is she sleeping? But she isn’t the type of woman who would sleep this early. She must be watching dramas with headphones on.’

"Marine!"

Nell called her, and after a few moments, the door opened, and the woman’s voice entered his ears, "Nell?"

Nellas looked at her and noticed the slight pink color on her cheeks, ’She is blushing? Was she watching a romantic drama?’

However, he didn’t point it out and just cleared his throat before beginning, "Sorry to disturb you, but can I ask for a favor?"

"A-a favor?" Marine asked and her head tilted a bit while her eyes moved away, trying to avoid eye contact with him.

"Yes, can you help me make Ember a Hero? She wants to be a Hero and I will need your help. Can you do it?"

"E-Ember?"

A look of shock appeared on Marine’s face and her eyes widened a bit before she looked at the man in front of her.

"Help you make Ember a Hero? But, isn’t she blind?"

Marine replied, and her hands clenched into fists before they began to shake a bit.

’Shit, he came to me in the middle of the night, asking for a favor and that is to help his blind wife become a Hero.’

’How can he not understand how painful this is for me?’

’This bastard is not only asking me to help him but is also not allowing me to refuse.’

’Damn it.’

Her mind was in chaos and her body was shaking, as her heart was breaking a little.

’This is hard. It’s so damn hard.’

She wanted to scream and curse him but her mind was telling her not to.

"Yes, she is. But, don’t worry, it won’t affect anything. I am sure, even with the disability of being blind, Ember will become a strong Hero."

Nellas spoke and his words were filled with confidence, as if he was not doubting his wife even in the slightest.

’So much trust in her. This is really not fair. If only he was looking at me like this, and trusting me like this.’

Marine wanted to cry but she held it back, and with a forced smile, she nodded her head, "Alright, I will help you."

"Thank you, Marine, I knew I could count on you." With that, the man turned around, and without waiting for her to say anything, he returned to his house.

Meanwhile, Marine closed the door and her head lowered slightly before a tear rolled down her cheek.

’Why do you want me to suffer, Nell?’

’Why do you want me to torture myself?’

She was crying on the inside, and the woman wanted to shout out loud and let all the emotions inside her come out, but she couldn’t.

Because the reason for her suffering was none other than herself.

’If just I was a bit softer, a bit gentler, and didn’t act like a bitch. Maybe he would have fallen for me. Maybe. Maybe he would have noticed me. Maybe...’

Thoughts of what could have been her future were running inside her head, and the woman couldn’t help but cry.

"Why am I such a bitch? Why did I act like a bitch? Why?"

She didn’t know, and couldn’t understand the reason behind her actions she had done.

"Why, why, why?"

Another tear rolled down her cheek, and her body swayed before she fell down and her hands grabbed her knees tightly.

"Ahhh. I hate this. I hate this."

It was not a lie, and the woman was telling the truth; she really hated herself.

"If only I could change, but..."

"It’s too late."

With a broken heart, Marine cried, she let out all the emotions, all the pain that she kept locked inside her since the time she first saw Nell.

"I hate him, and I love him."

The once strong and dominant woman was now showing a side of her that no one had ever seen before.

’Why did you have to fall in love, Marine? Just why?’ She asked herself as she hid her face between her knees and continued to cry.
