"Em, you have awakened?" Nell asked and slowly moved his hand and patted her head, "How did you sleep?"

At his question and his touch, Ember’s body shuddered a little, and a warm sensation enveloped her heart.

’Yes, I need to become the best for him,’

She spoke in her mind, and the thought helped her calm her nerves.

"I... I had a nice sleep."

She replied, and her hand, which was clutching the man’s shirt, moved toward her mouth and began to wipe the saliva that had formed on the corner her lips.

She didn’t know that the saliva was because she was drooling and moaning in her sleep while touching her husband’s body.

"Okay, then get up,"

Nellas told her and gently patted her head, before slowly sitting up, which made her move her body and her head fall on his lap.

And, as soon as her head was on his thighs, a hint of blush appeared on her cheeks and her hands subconsciously grabbed his pants, preventing him from moving.

"I don’t want to."

She spoke softly and her words caused a smile to bloom on Nell’s face, "You don’t want to?" his voice was soft and his hand gently caressed her hair.

"Yes, I want to stay like this,"

Ember confirmed and nodded her head slightly, enjoying her husband’s touch.

"Alright, then."

With that, he continued to caress her head, and for a moment, the couple was in silence.

However, after a few minutes, Ember suddenly moved her body and hugged her husband’s waist.

She was in a strange mood, and her heart was telling her not to let go of her husband.

’I can’t lose him. No, I can’t.’

With that thought, her arms tightened around her husband, and her fingers began to clutch his shirt.

’Mine. He is mine.’

A strange feeling was coursing through her body, and her heart was beating really fast.

She was nervous, and she didn’t know the reason for her behavior.

All she knew was that she was afraid of losing her husband, and she didn’t want him to leave her.

On the other hand, Nellas was feeling a bit surprised and happy, and he could feel his wife’s arms wrapping around his waist.

He called her, but the woman didn’t respond, and her hug only got tighter.

Nell wondered about his wife’s weird behavior, and he began to think if she was upset about something.

He was wondering if he had done anything to make her sad, or if something was going on with her.

So, he decided to ask his wife, but before he could ask anything, a notification suddenly rang inside his head.

It was the system’s message, however, it was too random. Hence, without reading all the words on the screen, Nellas decided to ignore it and looked back at his wife, who had her head buried in his abdomen.

They both stayed like that until Ember finally moved her hands and let go of him.

Slowly, she pushed herself away from her husband and sat on the sofa.

"Em,"

As she was sitting on the sofa, her hands were placed on her lap, and her eyes were closed as her head was tilted downward, but as soon as she heard her husband’s call, her head moved a bit, and her eyes opened a little.

"A-Are you okay, Em? Did something happen?"

He asked and looked at her with a worried expression.

However, he didn’t expect the answer that was about to come from her mouth.

"Nell, I..." Ember paused for a moment and bit her lips before speaking again, "I... I want to..."

A stutter left her lips and her left hand was grabbing her right arm.

Confused by her words, Nell stared at her and waited for her to continue, but after a short pause, she didn’t speak anymore.

"What is it, Em? You can tell me,"

He said, trying to encourage her.

However, even after his words, the woman didn’t say anything.

She thought and closed her eyes again.

But, her voice trailed off, and her hand subconsciously gripped her clothes, as her heart began to beat fast.

"Yes?"

Again, he encouraged her, and she tried to open her mouth.

"I-I want to become a... Hero."

Her voice was soft and low, but Nellas was able to hear it, and the words were like a bucket of ice water being poured on his head.

However, it didn’t last long, and a look of understanding soon surfaced on his face, and he smiled.

"Is that all?"

His voice was low, but there was a hint of relief in it.

And, as he said that, the woman slowly lifted her head in response.

’He doesn’t seem shocked,’

She expected her husband to be shocked, as no one would have expected someone like her to have such a wish.

But, his reaction was unexpected.

"If you want to become a Hero then you can. I am not stopping you."

Her husband’s reply was something that she didn’t expect, and her heart began to beat faster.

’Is it really that easy?’

She thought that her husband would try to discourage her from pursuing the dream of becoming a hero, as no one would want their spouse to be exposed to danger.

Yet, her husband’s attitude was different, and she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

"You... are not going to stop me?"

Again, her voice was low but this time it was filled with a hint of hesitation, which didn’t go unnoticed by her husband.

"Why would I?" He asked and grabbed her hand, "You want to become a hero, right? Then, you can."

He finished and gently patted her hand.

"Are you sure? It is dangerous. I... I can die." Ember spoke and gulped.

"Em, you aren’t gonna die. Because I won’t let you even if you wanted to," Nellas paused and a smile bloomed on his face, "You are my wife, and I will protect you no matter what. So, if you want to become a Hero, then go for it."

Upon hearing his words, a strange feeling erupted in his wife’s heart, and a sense of reassurance filled her veins.

’He will protect me. And to protect him...’

A smile appeared on her face and she was feeling grateful to her husband.

’...I have to become strong.’

With that thought, her heart felt at ease, and her hands gently held her husband’s hand, "Thank you."

These two words were just two simple words, but the emotion behind them was immeasurable.

’I promise I will do my best.’

She thought, and the words echoed in her heart, ’I will become a Hero and someone who can stand on the same stage as you.’
