Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster -
Chapter 45: Divine Interrogation
Chapter 45: Divine Interrogation
Divine Maiden was sitting on a chair, her hands were placed on the table in front of her and a deep frown was visible on his face.
She wasn’t looking happy, and her lips were curved into a big scowl.
"So, what is the problem?"
She asked the people in front of him, and her gaze landed on the woman in the middle who had her head hung low, "Speak,"
After hearing that, the woman, Rachel, flinched and slowly lifted her head, as she glanced at her master.
However, before she could say anything, Divine Maiden spoke, "And, don’t think of lying to me,"
Rachel’s eyes widened as soon as the words entered her ears, and she subconsciously gulped.
"Y-Yes, master,"
A stutter left her lips, and she nodded her head.
She wasn’t afraid, but her master’s words made her nervous.
"So, what happened?"
Again, her master spoke, asking for whatever had happened inside the dungeon.
Her master was a straightforward woman who didn’t like to waste her time beating around the bush.
So, without wasting any more time, Rachel explained; "Just as you instructed, we kept a close eye on the target. Every time, we threw him in front of a monster, the monster would attack the target."
She said and a small pause followed.
"But, he couldn’t even last a few seconds,"
She continued, and a bitter smile appeared on her face, "He is really weak. His mana reserves are non-existent, and his physical strength is also low. He can’t even dodge a simple punch."
She let out a sigh, and then a confused expression appeared on her face, "It’s as if he had no combat experience."
"Hmm," Divine Maiden hummed, and glared at Rachel for a second, before speaking, "No combat experience, and yet, he was able to defeat a C-Class boss monster?"
Divine Maiden’s voice was low and filled with a hint of anger, but her words didn’t scare Rachel.
Instead, a look of shock surfaced on her face, and she opened her mouth, "What? Boss monster?!"
Her voice was slightly louder than before, and her gaze darted to the other two people in the room, who shared the same expression as her.
"Yeah, he is the one who defeated the boss monster of the Breakout that happened two days ago in a restaurant. He didn’t use any equipment, and his class is also C-class."
Her master explained as her eyes were fixed on Rachel’s face.
"Didn’t you know about it?"
She asked, and Rachel shook her head.
"I... I didn’t,"
Her voice was barely a whisper, and a confused expression was visible on her face.
However, it was all a play.
She already knew about the man’s strength and about the boss monster that was defeated.
"Then, do you know anything?"
Her master’s gaze fell on the two other people, Danny and Ron, who had the same expression as Rachel.
"N-No, we didn’t."
They replied which made Divine Maiden frown.
"Alright, you can leave," She waved her hand and dismissed the three Heroes.
Without wasting any more time, the three obeyed her master’s orders and quickly left the place.
Once they were gone, a sigh left Divine Maiden’s lips, and she stared at the door through which the Heroes had left.
’Lairs,’
The word crossed her mind and a wave of anger surged through her veins.
’These bastards are hiding something from me.’
She wasn’t sure what those Heroes were hiding, but she was certain that it was all because of that man, Nellas.
"Tch, you can’t run away from me forever, bastard."
Thinking that, a dark look appeared on her face, and she grabbed her phone that was on the table, and began to dial a number.
....
Meanwhile...
On the other hand...
Rachel, Danny, and Ron were now inside an elevator, and the metal box was heading toward the ground floor of the building.
"Do you think that she has bought it?"
A voice suddenly entered her ears, and Rachel turned her head to look at Danny.
"I am not sure, but we have already done what we were supposed to do. Now, let’s hope that he will keep his end of the deal."
She replied and glanced at Ron who was looking a little pale.
"Are you okay, Ron?"
She asked, and the boy nodded his head.
"I... I am fine. Don’t worry,"
Ron answered and smiled a little.
But, in his heart, he was feeling a little guilty, because he was the sole reason his sister had to lie.
If not for the curse that was slowly eating away his heart, his sister wouldn’t have had to act like that.
After getting her brother’s reply, Rachel looked at the screen above the elevator’s door, which showed that they were almost near the ground.
’We are lucky that Master didn’t ask any questions. If she did, we would have been screwed.’
A sigh left her lips and her hands unconsciously touched her necklace that was hidden underneath her clothes.
It was a very special piece of jewelry that she held close to her heart.
Because it was given by the person she loved the most.
’I... miss him.’
Thinking about the person, a tear slipped from her eye and slowly trailed down her cheeks.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t visible to anyone, as she wiped it with her hand before it could fall.
’I can’t take it anymore,’
As the words echoed in her mind, a look of helplessness and pain appeared on her face.
Ding!
The sound of the elevator interrupted her thoughts, and her gaze went toward the door, just in time to see the door slide open.
And, as soon as the gap was large enough the three heroes stepped outside.
...
At the same time...
In a different building that was situated on the other side of the city, a man wearing a black suit and glasses was standing in the lobby.
There were many people, coming and going, but no one approached him, as they couldn’t even get near him due to his intimidating aura.
"Mr. Lester,"
Suddenly, the man, Mr. Lester, heard a voice and turned his head toward a girl, who was standing beside him.
"We have found her. The girl you are looking for; Rachel. She is currently going toward her house with her brother,"
The girl finished, and a smile appeared on Lester’s face.
’Found you,’
