Chapter 36: Rachel’s Strength

After the humongous hare had appeared in front of Rachel and had roared, the leaves of the trees around them began to rustle.

Shortly, the underling rabbits began to pour out from the forest, and, their number was far beyond what Rachel and Danny could imagine.

Just then, Ron landed beside Danny and placed his hand on his shoulder, "Why did you leave me behind? We are supposed to work together,"

He questioned, and, a slight frown was present on his face as his head was lowered and his gaze was fixed on the green grass.

Danny couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

They were surrounded by countless wild hares, and, right now, the only thing his friend was concerned about was the fact that he had left him behind.

"Tsk, this idiot,"

Gritting his teeth, he looked back at his friend, and, saw that he was looking at the ground, and a soft pout was present on his lips.

He was completely oblivious to the things around him.

Seeing his childish expression, a vein bulged on his forehead, and, the words slipped past his lips in an angry tone.

"Fuck, look around you. Do you think we have the time to worry about this kind of stuff?"

Hearing him, Ron slowly raised his head, and, as soon as he scanned the surroundings, his eyes went wide.

"O-oh, sh*t,"

Instantly, his face turned white and a gulp escaped his throat.

"I-isn’t that a bit too much?"

The number of rabbits was enough to make anyone’s hair stand at the end, and yet, more and more were emerging from the forest and were forming a circle around them.

"Y-you think? Tsk, idiot, we are screwed. There is an even bigger one in front of your sister."

"What? Sis?" Danny’s words had snapped him out of his daze, and, immediately, his eyes fell on the humongous, white hare, which was standing a few feet away from Rachel.

The creature’s mouth was drooling and its eyes were glinting with hunger and lust for blood.

"Shit, w-what do we do?"

The sight of the large monster, along with its group of minions, made Ron feel cold, and a shiver ran down his spine.

"We can’t do anything. They will be the ones who will be doing all the work."

Ron was dumbfounded by Danny’s words.

"Huh?"

A confused grunt escaped his lips and his brows knitted together, however, before he could ask the meaning of his friend’s words, the boss hare let out a roar and raised its claw.

Shortly, the minion hares’ ears stood at the end, and, the monsters leaped towards the two.

"Oh no, RUN!!!"

A cry left Ron’s lips, and, in a matter of seconds, he began to run, followed by the countless creatures who were running after him.

"Shit! Don’t run! Just fight them, damn it!"

Danny yelled and gritted his teeth as he saw his friend’s figure disappearing in the distance.

However, there was nothing he could do.

Even though his friend was an idiot, he was still his teammate.

So, instead of continuing to scream, he took a deep breath, and, looked at the humongous hare that was a few feet away from Rachel.

’Rachel, hang on. I am coming to save you,’

As soon as his mind was set, he raised both of his hands and two draggers materialized in his grip.

"Let’s do this,"

Without wasting any time, he launched himself toward the minions, and, his movements were so fast, that they were barely visible.

Meanwhile, the boss Monster brought down its claw, and a loud swoosh sound filled the air.

The target was Rachel’s body, and it was fast enough to separate her head from the rest of the body.

"Haa..."

Nevertheless, despite the monster’s size and strength, Rachel’s speed was not below the former.

With a smirk on her lips, she easily dodged the boss’ attack.

Bam~!

Immediately, the humongous hare’s claws collided with the ground, and, three lines appeared on the lush, green grass.

"Too slow,"

She muttered, and instinctively, her legs pushed her off the ground.

Her body flew up and landed on the hare’s arm.

She grinned and, with a slight movement of her hand, a weapon materialized in her palm.

"Now, it is my turn,"

Saying that she brought the weapon, which was a scythe, down, and it slashed the creature’s fur, leaving a large wound that was formed on its arm, behind.

"Guh!!!"

A loud cry left the monster’s lips and, its eyes went wide as it saw its own blood leaking from its wound.

The cut was deep and the flesh inside it was exposed, while the dark-red blood was gushing out of the injury, staining its once-white fur.

"That’s for underestimating me,"

Rachel jumped off the creature’s arm, and, landed gracefully on the ground.

Shunk!

She stabbed the handle of the scythe into the ground. Then, she moved her hands forward, and, her eyes flashed as fire began to envelop her hands.

Soon, the flame around her hands grew stronger, and with those fiery hands, she grabbed the scythe and its blade lit up with a crimson-red flame, while, its handle remained unchanged.

"Let’s see if you can withstand this,"

As soon as her words finished, she yanked the weapon out of the ground and then, she slashed the scythe forward, which was accompanied by a fiery line, that shot forward.

"Guhhh!"

A roar escaped from the hare’s mouth and its large paw slammed against the ground.

Immediately, the earth shattered and, a few small fissures appeared on the ground.

The hare was able to move its body, but, it couldn’t dodge the attack.

As the fiery line cut through the air, it left a trail of black smoke, and, the sound of flesh being sliced filled the area, accompanied by the sound of burning flesh.

Shortly, the boss’ cry became louder, and its whole body was enveloped by flames.

The fiery line had hit its chest, and had created a huge gash from which a sea of flames erupted.

"Haaa...."

It roared and flailed its paws around, trying to get rid of the pain, which was burning its body.

Nonetheless, it was no use.

The flames continued to grow in intensity, and, the more it moved, the worse the situation became.

The hare’s cries and the smell of burnt flesh filled the area, and, in the end it collapsed.

Its body was charred and its fur was completely burned, leaving behind nothing, but, a corpse that was blackened, and was covered with burnt flesh.

Its eyes were closed and, its mouth was opened as it lay on the ground motionless.

"That’s done,"

Rachel sighed and shook her head as she saw the state of the monster.

"Haa..."

After seeing the result, she couldn’t help, but, let out a sigh.

It was not the first time she had used her powers to kill something, and yet, she couldn’t get used to the feeling.

After a few moments, her gaze landed on the countless minion rabbits, who were looking at her with a hint of fear in their eyes.

"Let’s have fun, shall we?"

Rachel said, and, a smile bloomed on her lips, which made the minions flinch.
