Chapter 32: Inside the ’Breeze Forest’

Chapter 32: Inside the ’Breeze Forest’

Inside the dungeon...

"So, this is the first floor, huh," The person in charge of the party, Ron’s sister, muttered as she looked around the area they were transported to after walking past the dungeon’s portal.

They were now standing at the beginning of a forest, and the ground beneath them was covered in lush, green grass.

However, despite being a forest, the place was very silent.

No birds were singing, and the trees were not moving.

It was like the place was frozen, and that not a single breath of air could penetrate the atmosphere.

It was a B-Class dungeon with two floors, and the name was <Breeze Forest>.

"So, what do we have to do here?"

A familiar voice resounded in her ears, and she turned around to find the source.

It was the guy who was supposed to be the main attraction, Nellas.

"Well," She started and then, she took a small notepad out of her pocket and began to flip through the pages.

"Let me see..." She murmured and her eyes scanned the pages.

"Alright, so, the mission is to kill all the monsters that inhabit this place,"

Saying that she put the notepad back into her pocket, and, in a firm voice, she spoke the following words.

"Danny, can you scan the area and tell us the situation of the forest?"

"On it,"

Without uttering another word, Danny nodded, and in an instant, his eyes began to shine with soft white light.

His eyes were scanning the surrounding area, and as he was doing that his hood began to float in the air as if there was a gust of wind.

’So cool,’ Ron thought as he saw his friend using his power.

He watched his friend’s hood falling back and revealing his face, which was illuminated by the light coming from his eyes.

’He looks more cool without the hood on,’

A faint smile formed on Ron’s lips and his thoughts were interrupted when Danny spoke.

"Rachel, the monsters are hiding deep within the forest and are planning to ambush us,"

With that, the light in his eyes dimmed, and then, he grabbed his hood and placed it back on his head.

"Hmph," Rachel snorted and looked over her shoulder, staring at the guy behind her.

"Nellas, since you are the weakest among us, you will slowly walk forward, while we will go and destroy the monsters."

Her tone was cold, and her words were harsh.

But, she didn’t care and didn’t try to make it sound gentle.

"Okay,"

Nellas, however, didn’t take it to his heart and simply nodded.

’This guy is an idiot. Doesn’t he know what will happen if he listens to us? Does he have a death wish?’

As Rachel thought, her face was devoid of emotions.

’Well, that would be better for me, anyway,’

A smirk formed on her lips, and, she looked at the two people standing beside her.

"Ron, Danny, are you ready?" She asked, and the two men gave her a thumbs up.

"Yeah, let’s go and slaughter some monsters," Ron said.

"Mhmm," Danny simply hummed and nodded his head.

And, just as all of the party members agreed, the three people simultaneously jumped from their spots and vanished from their original positions.

Leaving Nellas Alone.

"Okay," Nellas let out a sigh and looked at the direction that his teammates had gone.

"I guess I should move now,"

With that, he took a step forward and began to move toward the heart of the forest.

Step by step, he continued to walk and his body was surrounded by the eerie silence.

’Hmm, why is this place so quiet?’

His thoughts were interrupted when the sound of leaves rustling reached his ears.

However, instead of turning around and checking the source, he continued to walk forward.

’Heh, aren’t you guys making it quite obvious?’

A smirk formed on his lips as he slowly walked forward.

Meanwhile, behind him, on a branch of a tree, Ron and Danny were sitting.

"Are you sure this is going to work?"

Ron’s question was filled with skepticism and worry, however, in contrast, Danny’s voice was calm and composed.

"Don’t worry," He reassured, "He won’t notice us. I have 4 months worth of knowledge of being an assassin, so, I am an expert in this kind of stuff."

"Well, if you say so," Ron sighed, and, in a flash, he took out a pair of binoculars and placed it in front of his eyes.

"Let’s hope you are right,"

He looked at Nellas through the lens, and suddenly, his eyes went wide.

"Wha-" Instinctively, his hands moved away from his face and he took a sharp breath.

Danny, hearing his friend’s gasp, raised his head and looked at Ron.

"Is something wrong?" He questioned, and Ron was a bit speechless.

"H-he," Ron gulped, and his throat felt dry.

"He is staring at us,"

The words left his mouth in a hushed voice, and, immediately, Danny snatched the binoculars from his hand.

"No way,"

As fast as possible, he looked through the lenses, and, what he saw was...

...Nellas, who was just walking forward without paying any heed to the things around him.

"Where? He is just walking forward,"

Danny was confused. The man, who was supposed to be someone they were spying on, was acting oblivious to everything.

However, soon his confusion was cleared as a soft chuckle reached his ears.

"Hahaha, you fell for it."

Turning his head, he glared at Ron, and, the latter’s face was full of laughter.

"What the hell," Danny growled and threw the binoculars back at him.

"That was not funny," He added, and, this caused Ron to laugh even more.

"Come on, don’t get mad," Ron said and wiped the tears that were flowing down his face.

"Hahaha, the expression you had when you were looking through the binoculars, is priceless,"

Danny was about to retort when, suddenly, a voice resounded in their ears.

"Urrrg!!! Ahhhh!!!"

The moment they heard the sound, their eyes went wide, and they looked in the direction where the sound came from.

"T-this is... SIS!"
