Chapter 144: The Unexpected Boost

[Boss, I have found her. What should I do?] The Devil boy spoke through a telepathy magic.

The reply came immediately, it was the voice of the muscular man, dark and commanding.

’Good job, Devillius. Now, capture her and bring her to the meeting place.’

[Boss, you do know that I can’t use vanishing magic on anyone else, right?] The devil boy’s voice carried a hint of hesitation.

’I know, that’s why you will use paralyzing magic on her. We will keep the guards outside busy so that you can escape with the princess.’

[Yes, boss.]

The Devil boy reached out, his hand hovering over Princess Alisa’s chest. His fingers glowed with a dark aura, and his expression was one of concentration.

’Let’s get started, shall we?’

The boy’s lips curled into a malicious grin as he cast his spell, the black aura surrounding his fingers intensifying. The aura pulsed and writhed, its energy almost palpable.

With a surge of power, the devil boy’s magic slammed into Princess Alisa’s body, enveloping her in a shroud of darkness. The princess was still asleep, her breathing unchanged.

It was as if she had transported into another dimension. In the world of her dreams, the only one present was her beloved master.

"Master," She murmured, a sweet smile gracing her lips.

’Hmm, Master?’ The Devil boy raised his eyebrows, his expression a mixture of curiosity and amusement.

’Is she dreaming about her master?’

In her dream, her master’s blue eyes were staring straight at her, the gentle expression she had come to love filling her with warmth.

"Alisa," he said, his voice tender and soothing.

"Yes, Master?" She replied, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

"I am happy you’re here with me," he confessed, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Me too, Master. I’ll always be by your side," she assured, her tone filled with devotion.

’Well, I guess it isn’t that much big of a deal, after all, this is just a dream, and nothing could interrupt her dream.’ The devil boy chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

’Time to capture her,’ he thought, his gaze sharpening.

[Boss, it is done.] The devil boy informed the muscular man through the telepathy magic.

’Excellent, now it’s our turn. We will make a fuss inside with the guards and keep them busy so that they won’t notice the princess’ disappearance.’ The muscular man replied with a hint of excitement.

’I can’t wait to have my hands on the Elven Kingdom’s fortune. This will make us rich beyond our wildest dreams!’

The devil boy grinned, his expression matching the muscular man’s excitement. [Let’s do it, boss!]

The muscular man turned to the old innkeeper, "You should go and wait for us at the meeting point. We will join you after we are done here."

"Alright, I’ll be waiting," the old man nodded and hurried away into the dark streets, his steps quick and purposeful.

With that, the two sides went into action, each knowing their respective roles.

Meanwhile inside the Inn, a boy with lean body was sitting on a bed with a sword on his lap. He was one of the guards protecting Princess Alisa.

His ears were sharp and pointed, indicating that he was an elf. The man had an angular face, sharp chin, and a thin nose. His green eyes were narrowed, and his mouth was set in a tight line. He had shoulder-length hair, which was tied back with a leather cord.

"So, how far have you gotten?" There was a bright white light in a humanoid shape, feminine and cute, appearing in front of him.

The boy looked at the light, his eyes filled with surprise. "Huh, Sis?"

"Yes, it’s me," the feminine figure said, her tone warm and gentle.

"What are you doing here?" The boy questioned, his expression bewildered.

"I’m here to check on you," the feminine figure explained, her voice tinged with concern.

"Check on me? Why?" The boy was confused.

"Because... of the princess. It seems like you haven’t even managed to talk with her yet." The feminine figure let out a sigh.

"I-I was going to talk to her," the boy defended, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"I bet you were too nervous to talk to her." The feminine figure chuckled. The arm of the white light moving to the boy’s head and caressing his hair.

"No, I wasn’t nervous... It’s just that..." The boy’s voice trailed off as he pouted, his expression solemn.

"Ow~ you look so cute when you pout, little brother." The feminine figure teased him.

"S-Shut up," the boy muttered, his cheeks burning crimson.

"Well, I won’t pester you about it. Just remember, I’ll always be here for you." With that, the feminine figure disappeared, her presence fading into the night.

The boy was left alone once more, his thoughts racing.

’Sister, do you believe in me?’

The boy gripped the hilt of his sword, his eyes blazing with determination.

’I’m going to do this. For you and for the princess.’

The boy stood up from the bed, his expression resolute. ’Yeah, this is the reason I became a knight. Because—’

"Oh, and one more thing." The white light appeared once again, cutting his thought short.

The boy startled by the voice, instinctively turned to face the light. "S-sis? W-What is it?"

"I sensed it earlier when I first appeared. It seems like there is someone inside Princess’ room and the guard outside the room also unconscious by some kind of spell." The feminine figure informed him.

"W-What? How can it be?" The boy exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock.

"I don’t know, but she appears to be in danger." The lips of the white light turning into a playful smile. "So, little brother, what are you waiting for? Go and save her and win her heart."

The white light winked and vanished again.

"Wait, Sis—"

But the white light had already disappeared, leaving the boy alone once more.

"Tch, you never change."

The boy’s expression hardened as he tightened his grip on his sword. ’No matter what, I have to save her!’

Without hesitation, the boy sprinted out of his room, his footsteps echoing down the corridor.

He rushed toward the princess’ room, his heart pounding with anticipation and anxiety.

As he arrived in front of the door, he saw the two guards lying on the floor, covered in black aura.

’It seems like they have been paralyzed by some kind of magic. But, how can it be possible for a human to sneak into the Inn? Unless...’

The boy quickly pushed opened the door to the princess’ room and his gaze fell onto a figure of a 12 years old boy escaping from he window. It was the Devil boy. He was holding the Elven princess in his arms, ready to jump off.

"Stop!" The boy shouted as he dashed toward the Devil.

’I have to stop him!’

But, it was too late.

The devil boy had already jumped out of the window.

’Dammit!’ The boy cursed under his breath as he chased after the devil boy.

Outside the window, the devil boy was using magic to float and land safely. He had the princess in his arms, her body unconscious.

"Tch, I need to chase him." The boy gritted his teeth and leapt out of the window.

He used his magic to control the wind and created a hard surface under his feet.

"Wind Magic: Air Step."

He began to chase the devil boy by jumping from one surface to another.

’Damn, his speed is too fast. At this rate, I’ll lose him.’

The boy increased his running speed, his expression determined.

’I won’t let you escape with the princess!’

The chase continued, the streets of the Red Town now bathed in darkness. The two figures sped through the alleys, their footsteps echoing through the night.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared from nowhere.

It was the feminine figure again.

"Hey, little brother." The white light approached the boy and whispered to him.

"Sis? Why are you here again?" The boy questioned, his eyes still focused on the devil boy.

"I am here to help you," the feminine figure explained. "You see, I can’t interfere directly. But, I can give you an advantage."

"What do you mean?" The boy asked, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Well, let’s say, a little boost."

"A boost?"

"Yes, a boost."

"But, Sis—"

"Don’t worry, little brother."

The boy hesitated for a moment before nodding, his expression uncertain.

"Trust me," the feminine figure urged, her voice filled with confidence.

The boy took a deep breath and braced himself. "Okay, I’m ready."

"Good," the feminine figure replied, a hint of mischief in her tone. "Then, I’ll give you a little boost."

With that, the feminine figure was floating right after the boy as he ran over the hard surfaces of air.

’She said she will give me a boost what does she mean?’

The next moment the white light raised her hand, glowing more and more.

"Sis, what are you—"

"You will see," the feminine figure cut him off. Suddenly, she moved her hand at high speed and hit the boy’s back.

"Aah!" A loud shout echoed through the night. The power behind the light’s blow was so strong that it sent the boy flying forward at an incredible speed.

The boy’s eyes widened in surprise as he soared through the air, his body propelled forward by the impact. Shockwaves of wind trailed behind him as he flew, the force of the collision sending debris scattering in his wake.

"Go and save the princess, little brother." The white light chuckled, amused.

The Devil, who was still flying away, with the princess in his arms, suddenly started to hear a loud voice closing in on him.

"Uwaaah!"

’What is this voice?’ He wondered, ’It seems like it is coming closer.’

As he turned his head, he was shocked to see the boy was approaching him at a rapid pace.

’Impossible! How can he catch up to me?’

The boy gritted his teeth as he continued his pursuit, his eyes focused on the devil boy. ’I’m not going to let you get away with the princess!’

As he drew closer, the boy clenched his fist, his gaze fierce.

"Take this!" He shouted, his voice filled with determination.

As the boy pulled his arm back for the mighty punch, a mischievous glint filled his eyes.

’Shit! He is too fast. I can’t even dodge or cast any spell. What should I do? What can I do?’

"Haaaaa!" The boy thrust his fist forward, a blast of wind shooting out from the impact.

The devil boy felt a surge of panic as he saw the boy’s fist hurtling toward him. But just as the boy reached closer to the devil situation took an unexpected turn.

The first couldn’t even grace the Devil, as the boy flew away from his side, unable to land the punch.

"Eh?" The Devil and the boy exclaimed in unison.
