Chapter 142: The System’s Secret

Back to the Flameheart mansion, Han’s voice cut through Nellas’s thoughts, snapping him back to reality.

"Nellas, this is the most valuable picture in the Flameheart mansion. My ancestors painted this because of the prophecy of the legend," Han said, his voice laced with conviction, his eyes gleaming with triumph.

"This is a painting that contains the secrets of the ancient times, Nellas," Han continued, his tone serious, "And it has the power to bring the hero and his princess back."

"How?" Nellas asked, his throat constricted with emotion, his voice barely a whisper.

"We need to use the ancient bloodline magic," Han replied, his gaze locked on the painting. "A powerful magic that only a few people in this world can use. It is the only way." Han continued, "And I want you to help me bring them back."

"B-Bring them back?" Nellas stammered, his mind racing. "But how? Isn’t that painting just a painting? How can we bring them back from it?"

"There is a way, Nellas," Han replied, his tone calm and his gaze steady. "Our ancestors wrote a book that tells us how to bring them back," he continued, his tone confident and sure. "In the book, they mentioned a silver-haired guy who will be the key to bringing them back."

"Silver-haired guy?... You mean me?" Nellas asked, his tone incredulous, his eyes filled with disbelief. "Is that why you brought me here?"

"Yeah," Han answered, his gaze focused on the painting, his expression contemplative. "I have confirmed doubt about it. The description of that silver-haired guy fits you."

"Confirmed doubt?" Nellas repeated, his tone filled with uncertainty.

"Yes," Han responded, his expression serious. "It is written in the book that the silver-haired guy is the one who will bring the hero and his princess back."

"You have confirmed it by looking at me?" Nellas asked, his mind awhirl with confusion, his emotions a jumbled mess.

"Yes," Han responded, his voice carrying a note of conviction. "When I saw you, I knew it was you," he continued, his expression thoughtful. "I knew that you are the one who can bring the hero and his princess back."

Nellas was at a loss for words, his thoughts in turmoil, his heart pounding in his chest. It was too much to take in all at once. He stood there, staring at the painting, his emotions a whirlwind.

"What do you say, Nellas?" Han’s question hung in the air, his voice filled with anticipation. "Will you help me bring them back?"

Nellas swallowed hard, his mind reeling, his emotions in chaos.

’Maybe Lee Jin has also reincarnated in this world,’ he wondered, his thoughts swirling, his heart heavy. ’Now that I think about it, the system I have is the same as the system he had. Maybe he was the one who had given me the system.’

"Alright, I will help you," Nellas said, his voice laced with determination, his expression serious. "But first, show me the book and explain to me everything."

"Of course, I will do it," Han replied, his expression filled with relief and excitement. "I will show you the book and explain everything."

And then they left the library and went to another place where the book was kept. It was a sealed room, with strong magic preventing anyone from entering inside. Only the Flameheart members could open it.

And the book that they had been talking about was inside the room.

Han opened the room, and they both entered inside.

There was a stone table in the middle of the room. And on the table was the book that they were talking about.

Han opened the book and showed it to Nellas.

"Look at this," Han said, his tone filled with excitement. "This is the book that my ancestors wrote. This is the only copy, and it is very important."

Nellas’s eyes scanned the pages, his expression solemn.

’The prophecy...’ Nellas mused, his mind racing, his emotions a tangled mess.

’I really hope that you are also reincarnated and are alive somewhere.’

’I want to meet you, my friend Lee Jin, the person who had given me the system.’

’If that is really true, I will make sure to meet you again and repay you for the system.’

’That is a promise, and a promise must be fulfilled.’

Meanwhile, the head maid, Lina’s mother, was scolding her daughter for the incident.

"Why are you like this?" the head maid asked, her tone stern, her expression exasperated. "You need to be more careful."

"I am sorry, Mom," Lina apologized, her head lowered, her eyes downcast.

"Sorry won’t fix it, Lina," the head maid chided, her voice tinged with disappointment. "You need to take responsibility for your actions."

"I will," Lina promised, her voice barely a whisper, her shoulders slumped in defeat.

"And you will learn to be a proper lady," the head maid insisted, her gaze unwavering. "Or else, you will be kicked out from here."

Lina’s eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat.

"K-Kicked out?" she stammered, her heart racing, her hands trembling. "B-but I can’t leave," Lina argued, her voice pleading. "Where will I go?"

"You have to find another place, or maybe find a man who can marry you," the head maid responded, her tone matter-of-fact, her expression serious.

"M-Man?..." Lina echoed, her cheeks flushed, her thoughts awhirl.

"Marry?... Who would marry a girl like me? I am a clumsy girl... No one will ever love me... And I can’t find a new place to stay, Mom. You know I am not a strong girl."

"There are many men out there, Lina," the head maid replied, her voice gentle but firm. "You just need to find the right one."

"The right one?..." Lina whispered, her heart filled with longing, her eyes shimmering with tears.

"Yes, the right one," the head maid affirmed, her gaze filled with warmth and hope. "There is someone out there for everyone."

"Really?" Lina asked, her voice filled with tentative hope.

"Of course," the head maid answered, her expression filled with certainty. "I believe in you, Lina."

Lina’s cheeks turned pink, her eyes sparkling with a mix of shyness and anticipation.

"Okay," she said, her tone resolute, her expression determined. "I will try my best, Mom."

"Good," the head maid replied, her lips quirking up in a smile, her eyes twinkling with pride.

Lina smiled, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. Her thoughts were a jumble, and her heart was filled with uncertainty, but there was also a glimmer of hope, a spark of possibility.

And with that, Lina vowed to herself to do her best to become a proper lady.

She would work hard and change herself so she could be worthy of the man who would love her.

The day was coming to an end, and Nellas would spend the night in the Flameheart mansion. He lay in the room given to him, feeling a mix of curiosity and confusion about the mysterious system within him.

"System, tell me, are you given to me by Lee Jin? Answer me, system!" Nellas’s brows furrowed as he waited for a response, his eyes fixed on the screen that read «Mythical Weapon System».

«Mythical Weapon System»

— Yes, you are right. This system is one of the 100 systems he possesses.

Nellas’s eyes widened in surprise. "I knew that he had 100 systems, but as long as I remember, he was only able to unlock three systems: Demonic System, Analysis System, and Love System. So how can I have one of his systems that he hasn’t yet unlocked?"

— About that, he did it subconsciously to save you. He doesn’t even know that he has done it.

Nellas ponders this revelation for a moment, his fingers tapping against the sheets thoughtfully. "Subconsciously?"

— Yes, subconsciously. It was his body’s instinctive reaction to save you, so his body acted on its own.

"Oh, I see." Nellas nods, his expression a mix of gratitude and wonder. "By the way, system, can you detect his location? Where is he right now?" He gazes at the screen with hope, but it remains unchanged, displaying «Mythical Weapon System».

— Unfortunately, no, I can’t detect his location. This system doesn’t have that function.

Nellas’s shoulders slump slightly, disappointment evident in his eyes. "Is that so? Well then, I have to use the method of the painting Han has showed me."

"And according to the book, we need a rose made with the bone of a dragon and blood of an angel," Nellas mutters to himself, his fingers tracing imaginary patterns on the bedsheet, his thoughts deep in contemplation. "Then, there was nothing in the book mentioning what would happen next. Is the next step will be explained later on? Or maybe, there will be something that would happen once the rose is made. And it was a very complicated thing, the book didn’t say what kind of bone it was or how much of the blood it required."

His expression turns troubled as he continues, "Han said he had the bone of a dragon, but the problem is the blood of an angel. It is very rare and very difficult to find. Not everyone can find an angel. Not even to mention the angels don’t exist in this world." He lets out a deep sigh, his gaze distant as he reflects on the challenges ahead.

"If only I had the power to open a portal just like I had in my previous life." Nellas’s voice carries a tinge of longing as he envisions the possibilities, his eyes fixed on the «Mythical Weapon System» in front of him.
