Chapter 116: A Fight with an Unseen Enemy

Baroy, who had been standing by, stepped forward to guide them to their rooms. He led them through the palace corridors, adorned with intricate tapestries and glistening chandeliers that cast a warm glow.

The walls were lined with paintings depicting the kingdom’s rich history, and the air was filled with a sense of grandeur and elegance.

As they reached their rooms, Yujin couldn’t help but marvel at the opulence around him. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with plush furnishings, ornate decorations, and large windows that overlooked the kingdom’s picturesque landscape.

Yujin turned to Baroy with a grateful smile. "Thank you for your hospitality," he said, genuinely appreciative of the king’s generosity.

Baroy bowed, his demeanor gracious. "It is my pleasure, Yujin," he said. "If you need anything, feel free to ask."

Yujin nodded, bidding him goodnight. At night, Nell was soundly asleep in his room when his senses were abruptly awakened by a faint but unmistakable presence.

His instincts kicked in, and he bolted upright, alert and ready for action. He noticed a figure passing outside his room, clutching a blood-drenched sword in hand.

Without hesitation, Nell sprang into action, his trained reflexes guiding his movements. He raced out of his room, determined to confront the intruder, but found nothing but darkness.

"Huh?!" he exclaimed, scanning his surroundings, but the figure had vanished. "Where is he? I can still sense him, but can’t see him. Is he invi...?"

As if in response to his question, he felt a sharp, piercing sensation coming toward him. Reacting swiftly, Nell managed to dodge the attack just in time, his senses on high alert.

He turned around to see a dagger embedded into the wall, confirming his suspicion. "So he really is invisible," Nell smirked, his adrenaline pumping. "Well, it will be fun that way."

"Whoosh!"

With keen senses, Nell detected the piercing sound of a blade slicing through the air. He reacted instantly, springing downwards to avoid the sword aimed at him.

But his invisible foe was quick, attacking from above with a powerful downward thrust. This time, Nell’s reflexes were not enough, and he couldn’t dodge in time.

As the sword came down, Nell spun around just in time to avoid a direct hit. The blade struck the floor with a resounding crack, sending splinters flying. Reacting swiftly, Nell countered with a kick aimed at the invisible assailant, but his foot found only empty air.

Frustration surged through him as he realized that his opponent was not only invisible but also adept at concealing his presence with some form of magic.

Nell’s senses remained on high alert, scanning his surroundings for any clue about the elusive attacker’s location. He could feel a presence right in front of him, but it seemed to shift and flicker, making it impossible to pinpoint.

"So, you gonna play like this?" Nell taunted the invisible attacker, his adrenaline coursing through his veins. He gripped the dagger he had retrieved from the wall, holding it tightly in both hands, ready for the next attack. "Then let me play with you."

With his senses heightened, Nell felt the presence of the invisible assailant closing in. He braced himself as the attacker’s sword came at him with lightning speed.

"Clang...!"

Nell reacted swiftly, raising his dagger just in time to block the incoming strike, the clash of metal ringing through the air.

But instead of stopping or dodging away, Nell surprised his attacker, including himself, by continuing the fight.

"Whooosh...!"

He swung his dagger at an angle, using the momentum of the block to launch his own counterattack. The invisible attacker barely had time to react as Nell’s dagger sliced through the air towards him.

In a split second, the attacker jumped backward, mirroring Nell’s movements.

Nell anticipated the move and used the momentum of his own swing to throw himself backward as well, creating distance between them.

The invisible attacker, still unseen, lunged forward, attempting to stab Nell with his sword. But Nell’s dagger, held steady in midair, completely blocked the attacker’s path, thwarting the attack.

Nell’s smile widened as he taunted the invisible attacker. "Not bad," he said, his voice laced with confidence. "But I am getting kinda bored here. Why don’t you just use your magic powers now?"

Without warning, Nell took a few steps forward, slashing his dagger toward the attacker’s neck with precision.

But the invisible attacker was not to be underestimated. With lightning-fast reflexes, he countered Nell’s attack, stabbing his sword at the same spot where Nell’s dagger was aimed.

"Clang...clang...!!"

The clash of metal echoed through the air, a testament to the intensity of their battle.

Nell’s eyes widened in surprise as he was forced to back off from the unexpected countermove. The invisible attacker matched his movements, retreating with equal speed.

"Huff...huff...!"

Both Nell and his unseen opponent were panting heavily, the exertion of their duel taking its toll on them.

"You’re still not going to use your magic?" Nell questioned, his voice laced with curiosity and a hint of suspicion. "I wonder why?"

With keen observation, Nell had been studying his opponent, even though he was completely concealed from sight. The invisible attacker seemed unfazed, breathing normally and appearing relaxed, which only served to heighten Nell’s curiosity.

"You are very observant," the invisible attacker responded, his voice smooth and confident. "As expected of Xavier’s student."

"Huh?!" Nell exclaimed in his mind, taken aback. ’He thinks I’m Yujin?’

The invisible attacker seemed unperturbed by Nell’s reaction, maintaining his calm facade.

"Hey, what are you here for?" Nell demanded, his gaze fixed on the invisible attacker, his eyes glinting with determination. "Did you come to kill me?"

The invisible attacker’s response was chilling in its nonchalance.

"Oh, you catch on fast," he said, smirking. "Yeah, so what?"

Nell’s body tensed, and he felt a surge of anger and resolve. He couldn’t let this mysterious assailant harm his brother or anyone else.

"Is that so?" Nell’s voice dropped to a low, dangerous tone. He felt a surge of power building within him, a red smoke beginning to emanate from his body. The air around them crackled with tension, and the ground beneath them trembled.

"Then die," Nell declared, his eyes blazing with determination as he prepared to unleash his magic.

With a swift motion, Nell’s dagger found its mark, embedding itself in the left shoulder of the invisible attacker. The attacker let out a cry of pain as his invisibility spell shattered like glass, revealing his form. Nell wasted no time, closing the distance between them in a flash.

But the attacker was quick on his feet, and with a desperate flicker of magic, he vanished once again, leaving Nell grasping at thin air.

"Shit!" Nell’s frustration boiled over as he cursed under his breath, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of his elusive foe. His gaze then fell upon a glimmering object on the ground, a golden badge that caught the light.

Nell picked it up, his fingers tingling with an otherworldly warmth as he recognized the emblem of the Zenith church.

His mind raced as he put the pieces together. The invisible attacker was connected to the Zenith church, and they were after Yujin. Nell’s jaw clenched as he vowed to himself to teach them a lesson they wouldn’t forget.

"I won’t let them get away with this," Nell growled, his eyes gleaming with determination. He knew he had to warn Yujin and protect him at all costs while hiding his presence from them.
