Chapter 112: Intruders

As Arin left the room, Yujin turned to his brother, his expression serious. "Are you okay with this?" he asked.

"About what?" Nellas asked, confused.

"Can’t you see Arin was flirting with Minhe?" Yujin prodded, his voice low.

Nellas pondered for a moment, but he kept his expression neutral. "Oh, I didn’t notice any of that," he lied smoothly. "And Arin seems to be a good guy. He’s a gentleman, even though he’s a noble. If he likes Minhe, then that’s a good thing."

Yujin’s eyebrows furrowed, and he studied Nell’s face for a long moment, trying to gauge his brother’s true feelings. "But..."

"But what?" Nellas interrupted, his tone slightly amused.

"Nothing," Yujin said, but his eyes gleamed with a newfound determination. ’It is vividly clear that Minhe likes him, but my brother seems clueless about it. I have no choice but to act and make Nellas realize,’ he thought, his mind already working on a plan.

Nell looked at Yujin, wondering what was going through his brother’s head. ’I hope he isn’t thinking of making me and Minhe a couple,’ he mused with a wry grin. But he had a feeling that whatever Yujin had in mind, it was nothing good for him.

Arin lay in bed, restlessly tossing and turning. His mind was consumed by Minhe, her beauty constantly swirling in his thoughts. Every time she smiled or expressed any emotion, he felt a stirring deep within him, a sensation he had never experienced before.

As he opened his eyes, he found himself staring up at the ceiling, lost in his thoughts. "Damn," he muttered to himself, "I need to stop fixating on her. She’s just another girl. There are plenty of other beautiful girls out there."

Arin closed his eyes, trying to calm his racing mind. But as he did, the image of Minhe’s adorable angry face came rushing back to him, sending his heart racing and his eyes widening.

Shaking his head in an attempt to clear his mind, he resolved, "No more dreaming about Minhe."

As he finally drifted off into dreamless sleep, his mind still filled with her captivating presence, Arin couldn’t help but wonder if he would ever be able to resist the spell that she had cast upon him.

...

As the night wore on, the house lay silent, and all its occupants slept peacefully. Unbeknownst to them, a group of masked intruders had crept silently into the premises, their intentions unknown.

However, as they reached the room where Arin lay sleeping, they were confronted by Yujin, who stood guard in front of the door. His eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, sending shivers down their spines, and the air around him seemed to crackle with electricity.

"Who are you guys?" he demanded, his voice low and dangerous, sending a chill down their spines.

The leader of the intruders stepped forward, his words laced with a menacing tone. "Hey kid, move if you want to live," he growled, his eyes flashing with a dangerous glint.

Yujin, however, wasn’t about to be intimidated by these masked strangers. He scoffed at the leader’s words, his laughter ringing out in the otherwise silent hallway. "Oh, the same old line I’ve heard countless times," he retorted, his voice laced with sarcasm. "If I remember correctly, others usually say ’kill him,’ but you’re saying ’move if you want to live’? How original. What are you here for? To make acquaintances?"

The leader’s face twisted in anger, but he quickly regained his composure. "Listen, kid," he said, his tone softening, "we don’t want to hurt you. But we must take your friend away. We have orders from our masters to capture him alive, so step aside."

As he spoke, the leader’s body began to glow with a soft blue light, and the others followed suit. Yujin watched in amazement as their eyes also started to glow with the same eerie light.

"That’s right, kid," the leader continued, his voice growing louder and stronger as the glow increased in intensity. "You must move if you want to live. Otherwise, you will die."

But Yujin was not one to back down. He stood his ground, his eyes blazing with determination. "You think you can scare me with that crap?!" he roared, his laughter echoing throughout the hallway. "Go ahead and try! I’ll show you how to scare me!"

Yujin’s heart raced as he watched the leader summon a magical spear, its tip gleaming menacingly in the low light. Without hesitation, the man hurled the spear towards Yujin’s chest, the weapon hurtling through the air like a deadly missile.

In that moment, time seemed to slow down. Yujin could see every detail of the spear, from the intricate runes etched along its length to the razor-sharp point that seemed to glow with a malevolent energy.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Yujin gracefully sprang backwards, effortlessly dodging the spear hurtling towards him. His eyes fixed on the weapon as it crashed into the wall behind him with a resounding clang. In the same swift movement, Yujin’s hand shot out, his fist glowing with a radiant, golden aura, and struck the leader with a bone-crushing blow to his nose, which crunched sickeningly. The man crumpled to the ground, out cold.

"Take that!" Yujin’s triumphant yell echoed through the hallway.

But the battle was far from over. The remaining members of the group charged towards him with a frenzy in their eyes. Yujin was quick to retaliate, his movements fluid and deadly as he unleashed a flurry of punches, kicks, and strikes. Each blow landed with a thunderous impact, leaving the attackers reeling and unconscious on the ground.

With a final, mighty kick, Yujin sent the last remaining member flying across the hallway, where he collapsed in a heap on the floor, unmoving. Yujin surveyed the scene of destruction wrought by his attack. Broken furniture and shattered glass lay strewn across the hallway, blood staining the walls and floor.

A sense of satisfaction welled up inside him, but it was quickly replaced by a creeping feeling of unease. Yujin’s sharp senses scanned the hallway, and that’s when he noticed something.

Yujin’s sharp senses detected movement, and he knew that trouble was on its way. With lightning-fast reflexes, he darted towards his room.

Swiftly and quietly, Yujin shut the door behind him, his movements deft and precise as he locked it without making a sound. His eyes darted around the room, taking in every detail, as he made his way towards the bed where Nellas was lying.

Relief flooded through him as he saw that his brother was still sound asleep. Yujin let out a soft sigh, his tense muscles relaxing as he gazed down at Nell’s peaceful form. "Thank God, he’s still sleeping," he whispered under his breath.

Unbeknownst to Yujin, Nell was awake and had been aware of the intruders from the moment they had broken into the house. However, he had chosen to remain still, knowing that Yujin was more than capable of handling them. After all, he was the esteemed apprentice of Xavier.
