Chapter 110: Minhe

The group was taken aback by Minhe’s sudden outburst. Their initial response was a collective "no," which left her visibly shocked.

However, Nellas’ reassuring smile eased her worries. "It’s okay, Minhe. You don’t have to join us," he said gently.

Minhe’s heart sank at his beautiful smile. ’Aaaaah~ That killer smile of his... No..., I can’t be swayed by his smile. I must go with him.’ She wanted to be near Nell, to spend every possible moment with him.

Yujin placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, offering his support. "You’re welcome to come with us if you want," he said, his voice kind and understanding.

Minhe’s eyes widened, brimming with tears of gratitude. "Thank you, Yujin," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.

Gathering her composure, Minhe turned to her mother, Yoona. "Can I? Please?" she asked, her eyes pleading.

Yoona smiled warmly, giving her approval. "Sure, if you really want to."

Minhe’s face was bright red with embarrassment as she turned back to Nellas.

"If Yujin wants, then I suppose it’s okay. Pack your things, we’ll leave for the Capital tomorrow," Nell announced, his voice laced with excitement.

Minhe’s eyes lit up with excitement, and her mouth opened slightly in disbelief. She couldn’t believe her luck. She was going to visit the capital with the boy she like, that was a dream come true, and she had always wanted to explore the grand castle that stood tall in the heart of the city.

As Nellas observed her reaction, he wondered if she understood the weight of Yujin being summoned to Capital. But before he could express his concerns, Yujin interrupted his thoughts.

"Mom, can I get something to eat? I’m pretty hungry," Yujin asked, his voice tinged with eagerness.

"Of course, dear," Sonia replied with a warm smile.

The family enjoyed a hearty meal together, savoring the flavors of the dishes that Sonia had expertly prepared. After dinner, Yoona and Minhe retreated to their house, while Nellas and Yujin settled into the living room.

The two siblings sat down, engrossed in a lively conversation. Nell shared stories of his work with his father and the success of their business. Yujin listened eagerly, hanging onto every word.

Suddenly, as if noticing something, Nellas turned to Yujin "Hey, Yujin," he began with a grin, "I have an idea. Why don’t we visit the forest tonight?"

Yujin’s eyes grew wide with surprise at the unexpected proposal. "Tonight?"

Nell’s excitement was contagious, and he replied, "Yeah, why not? Just like the old times and we’re going to the capital tomorrow anyway, so a bit of fun wouldn’t be a problem."

Yujin pondered for a moment, then nodded eagerly. "Let’s do it."

Silently, the two siblings crept out of the house without their parents noticing. Once outside, they sprinted towards the outskirts of the town, their hearts racing with anticipation. As they reached the edge of the forest, they scrambled up onto the roof of a nearby building. Taking a deep breath, they leaped off the roof, soaring through the air until they landed safely in the dense foliage below.

The forest was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, and Nellas took the lead as they navigated their way through the winding paths. After walking for almost half an hour, they stopped in front of a towering tree that stood tall against the backdrop of the night sky.

"This looks good," Nell said with a nod of approval.

Yujin also nodded in agreement, and the two let themselves fall backwards until they were lying flat on the ground, staring up at the twinkling stars above.

As they lay there in contented silence, Nellas broke the stillness. "Nice night, right?" he said with a warm smile.

Yujin giggled in agreement, "Yeah, it is," he replied, feeling grateful for the rare moment of joy and freedom that they shared together.

....

Next day...

After having their breakfast the following morning, Nellas and Yujin found themselves waiting for Minhe before leaving for the capital, who was taking her sweet time getting ready.

"Come on, hurry up," Nell urged, unable to contain his impatience, but Minhe paid him no heed.

She rummaged around in her closet, her fingers grazing the smooth fabric of her dresses until they found what she was looking for.

A red silk dress, soft and flowing like an ocean wave. After wearing it seemed to caress her skin with every movement she made.

"How is this?" she asked, holding her arms out to show off the dress.

Nell’s eyes lit up at the sight of her, and he replied enthusiastically, "Perfect! You look amazing."

Minhe blushed at his compliment, but she forced a smile nonetheless. Yujin, always the playful one, nudged his brother teasingly. "Are you trying to impress her or something?" he asked.

Nell’s indignation was palpable as he replied, "What are you talking about?"

Yujin laughed, shaking his head. "I know you, you’re dying to impress her."

The banter between the two boys continued as the group made their way to the gate. The sun was shining bright, and the breeze carried the scent of freshly bloomed flowers.

The streets were alive with the sounds of merchants hawking their wares, and the chatter of locals and travelers alike. It was a beautiful day, and the trio walked together, lost in their own thoughts.

Minhe felt the soft fabric of her dress flutter against her skin, and she couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. It was the first time she’d worn something so elegant, and she worried she might be overdressed. But as she walked, she noticed the admiring glances of passersby, but her worries didn’t dissipate.

As they reached the gate, Minhe looked around at the bustling crowd, the smell of street food wafting toward her. She felt a thrill of excitement run through her as she realized she was finally going to the capital.

Minhe led the way to the carriage that would take them to the capital, her red dress swaying with every step. Everyone piled inside, and Minhe sat beside Nellas, while Yujin sat in front of them. The driver closed the door to the carriage, and the horses started to move.

The ride to the capital was quiet, as Nell and Minhe maintained a comfortable silence, lost in their own thoughts. However, Yujin did his best to keep himself entertained, peppering the trip with jokes and funny comments.

As the carriage approached the edge of the city, Minhe half sleepily leaned to Nellas’ shoulder and whispered in his ear. "What do you think about me?"

Nell looked surprised by the sudden question. "Huh? What do I think of what?" he asked, confused.

"Umm," Minhe mumbled, averting her gaze. "Well, about me."

Minhe’s hesitant demeanor was unmistakable, and Nellas found himself at a loss for words. He searched for something reassuring to say, but ultimately decided on honesty. "You look beautiful," he said simply.

The heat in Minhe’s cheeks was impossible to miss, but she managed to force a smile. "Thanks," she replied softly.

Their exchange was interrupted by Yujin’s excited voice. "What are you two whispering about?" he asked, leaning forward with a twinkle in his eye.

Nell let out a weary sigh, while Minhe shot him a withering glare that betrayed her anger. "Nothing," she snapped, turning away from Yujin.

Yujin was delighted by the drama. "Yeah, whatever," he said with a laugh.

The trio continued their journey as the sun began to set, eventually arriving in the bustling city of Westfall. It was one of the largest cities in the country, and the streets were packed with people going about their business.

Minhe’s concern was palpable as she looked around, clearly overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place. She had never been to a big city before, and the prospect of finding a place to stay was daunting.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

The sound of horse hooves approached from behind, causing everyone to turn their heads. An old man was about to be hit by a carriage, but it came to a halt just in time. The carriage’s door opened, revealing a middle-class nobleman.

He was around 18 years old, dressed in dazzling clothes. His short, messy brown hair and green eyes added to his handsome features, and his expression was gentle. He was accompanied by four guards.

"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice calm and soothing.

The old man was surprised by the sudden appearance of the young man and his entourage, and he struggled to stand up, holding his stomach in pain.

"Ugh..." The old man groaned.

The young man helped him to his feet and offered his hand. "Let me help you," he said kindly.

The old man accepted his offer, and the young man led him to a nearby bench.

"That looked painful," the young man said sympathetically.

The old man nodded in response.

"Do you need any assistance? Do you want me to call someone?" The young man’s voice was filled with concern.

The old man shook his head. "No, I’m fine. Don’t worry about me."

"Okay," the young man replied gently.

"What a nice gesture," Nell murmured, impressed with the young man’s kindness.

"Yeah, he seems like a good person," Yujin agreed.

"Good people are hard to find these days," Nell added, nodding in agreement.

The old man sat on the bench, and the young man turned back to the carriage, noticing Minhe standing with Nellas and Yujin. He couldn’t help but admire her beauty.

’Wow, so beautiful,’ he thought to himself, smiling slightly as he looked at Minhe. ’She is so cute.’ He suddenly realized that there were two other guys with her, but he paid no attention to them.

’I should go talk to her,’ he thought.

The young man approached Minhe, but she didn’t notice him yet.

"Excuse me, miss," he said politely. "Do you need any help?"

"No, thank you," she replied calmly, finally looking at him.

"Is there anything I can do?" he asked again. "I mean, if you need some information about the area or something, I could help you."

"No, I’m fine," she replied with a smile while clinging on to Nell’s arm.
