Chapter 108: Xavier (2)

Sonia was shocked that the most powerful mage in the Alvon kingdom was apologizing to her. The crowd around them began to murmur in confusion and surprise.

"Sorry for what my servant did," Xavier continued, his voice carrying through the crowd.

Sonia tried to protest, but Nellas quickly interrupted. "It’s okay, we accept your apology. Let’s go home, Mom."

"But..!" Sonia was still hesitating, however, to force her Nell began to cry, his face contorted with fear. "Mom, those guys in iron are scary. I am scared. Please, can we go home?" he pleaded, tugging at his mother’s arm but he was just acting.

Sonia’s heart melted at the sight of her son’s tears, and she relented, agreeing to leave. "Hmm, Sir Xavier, if it’s okay with you, we are going home," she said, glancing at Xavier.

As Sonia and Yeoman disappeared into their house, the crowd’s attention shifted to the weapons lying on the ground. Suddenly, a red colored sword began to levitate, and the onlookers gasped in surprise, including Xavier, the most powerful mage in the Kingdom.

Xavier’s eyes widened in amazement as he watched the sword’s movements. He muttered to himself, "No way, that sword, Is it reacting to the child’s desire? If so, then it will... No way."

With lightning-fast reflexes, Xavier cast a shield around the guard who had pushed Sonia earlier, sensing danger from the sword. But it was too late. The Blood Sword changed its trajectory and flew towards the shield, breaking through it effortlessly and piercing through the guard’s chest, leaving a gaping hole.

The crowd screamed and ran away in panic, but a few brave souls stayed behind to witness the unfolding spectacle. Xavier stood frozen in shock, staring at the lifeless body of the guard lying on the ground.

"What the hell?" he whispered to himself, still reeling from the unexpected turn of events. "The sword broke the shield which was created using high-class magic."

As he pondered over the sword’s mysterious power, Xavier noticed something even more astonishing. The sword seemed to sense the desire of the wielder, and this child had the might to destroy the world itself.

"It’s a pity I didn’t know the name of the child before now," he thought wistfully. "I could have taken him as my student."

Despite the chaos around him, Xavier remained calm and composed, a mask of indifference on his face. He knew that he was witnessing something extraordinary, and he didn’t want to miss a single moment of it.

Nellas sat on the edge of his bed, his eyes locked on the screen in front of him. His face changed into a stoic and calm one from a mask of anger as he listened to the scene unfolding outside of his house.

"This is what you get for messing with my mother," he muttered under his breath, his voice barely audible.

Suddenly, Sonia writhed in pain, her screams filling the small room. Sweat poured down her face, and her hands clutched at her swollen belly as she tried to endure the agony.

"Mom! Mom! What happened?" Nell’s voice was filled with concern as he leaned over his mother’s writhing form.

Sonia’s breath came in short gasps as she struggled to speak. "Nellas, go and ask Yoona to come," she managed to choke out.

Nell’s heart raced as he realized the gravity of the situation. This was the moment of his sibling’s birth, and there was no time to waste.

Without a second thought, he sprinted out of the door, his feet pounding on the dirt path as he made his way to the physician’s house.

Meanwhile, Xavier watched from the shadows, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. He had seen Nellas running away in a hurry, and he knew that something was wrong.

’Should I do something?’ Xavier wondered. He ordered the guards to put the dead body away and send the crowd on their way. After that, he raised his feet and walked closer to the door. Just then Nell came back running with Yoona following behind him.

As Yoona entered the room, Nellas turned around to call his father. He dashed to where his father worked.

It was a blacksmith shop a bit dark and hot. Various kinds of weapons were hanging on the walls and on the other side was a small mountain of armor.

He walked to his father who was hammering an armor.

"Father!" He called out.

Upon hearing his son’s voice Joseph turned around to find Nellas standing behind him, breathing heavily.

"Huh? Nellas?!" Joseph was shocked to see him in his workshop. "What are you doing here?"

"We need you, Father! It is urgent! Mother is in labor." Nellas said as he looked at his father anxiously.

Joseph stood up from the bench, putting down the armor he had been working on.

"Alright, let’s go back," Joseph replied.

They left the workshop and reached their house. After getting closer they heard Yoona’s voice coming from the house.

"Is Yoona here?" Joseph asked Nell.

"Yeah, I called her," His son replied.

"Good job, My son." Joseph patted Nell’s head and both of them walked and sat on the bench outside their house.

Xavier stood there watching everything happening. He was trying to find a way to get closer to Nellas, the one who hold the weapons.

Joseph noticed Xavier standing on the other side, staring at them hard.

"Hmm, who is he?" Joseph whispered into Nell’s ear.

Yeoman turned his head and looked at Xavier.

"He is Xavier, the strongest Mage in the kingdom."

"What!" Joseph shouted.

Xavier smiled when he saw Nellas looking at him. He slowly walked closer to them.

’Woo! He is coming toward us.’ Joseph was stunned.

Xavier walked and stood in front of Joseph.

"Hi, my legs are sore from standing for too long. So can I sit here?"

There was still some space on the bench where Nellas was seated.

"Yes, Please." Joseph hurriedly got up and made more space for Xavier to sit.

"No, you don’t have to get up. I can sit on the other side of this child." Xavier said while pointing toward Nell. "There is still some space left."

Joseph was dumbfounded that the strongest mage in the Alvon kingdom is so nice to them. ’Is there a reason for that? Or he is just nice?’ He wondered.

"Yes okay, if you want then you can sit there," Joseph replied with a confused face.

"Thank you!" Xavier thanked and sat there while Joseph kept standing there dumbfounded.

’Huh, This surge of power. This is beyond human capabilities.’

Just when Xavier sat on the bench he felt a sudden surge of intense and unlimited power coming from the child. But then he sensed something even more shocking, Nellas didn’t have any mana.

He had used his 1000 mana points to activate the Blood Sword so he was now completely out of mana.

’What the! He doesn’t have any mana but he still can control that red sword. Does that mean the weapons don’t need mana to work?’ Xavier wondered.

"Father, please sit down."

Nell immediately stood up and asked Joseph to sit on the bench. Because he sensed that Xavier was looking through his body and he didn’t want him to find out about his connection to the weapons.

"Huh! No, it’s okay." Joseph denied. He couldn’t sit on the same level as the strongest mage. "I am fine standing right here."

"You should sit down, father." Nell insisted and pulled Joseph to sit on the bench.

’This kid is crazy!’ Joseph thought.

"Father, please sit down." Nell tugged Joseph again.

’Damn! Is this what kids do? Tugging on their parents to get what they want? Well, I guess that is how it works.’ Joseph took a deep breath and asked Xavier.

"Can I?"

"Sure, no problem!" Xavier agreed. ’This kid.... is hiding something.’ He thought.

Both of them sat down next to each other.

"So, what happened to your mother?" Xavier asked Nell. "Is she sick?"

"Yeah, she is my wife and she is pregnant," Joseph answered.

Xavier’s attention was diverted from his curiosity about Nell’s connection with weapons to the conversation at hand. He was stunned to learn that Joseph was Nell’s father.

"Ahh... Congratulations!" he exclaimed, genuinely happy for Joseph.

"No, no...."

While Joseph and Xavier were chatting they heard Yoona shout.

"Huh!" Joseph stood up and dashed into the room being followed by his son.

"What happened?" Joseph asked instantly when he entered the room.

"The child... Is dying." Yoona answered, holding the child in her hands.

"No..." Joseph’s face turned blank upon hearing Yoona.

Xavier entered the room right after Nell. He knew that something had gone wrong so he decided to take a look and help them.

Upon entering he sensed something unusual about the newborn child. The baby was weak and barely alive but had a strong and unlimited mana reserve.

Without hesitation, Xavier knew what he had to do. He walked over to the newborn. Gently, he placed his hands on the infant’s chest and began to pour his own mana into the child’s frail body.

The room was silent as everyone watched in awe. Xavier’s mana flowed through the infant’s body, revitalizing and strengthening him. Slowly, the child’s breathing became steady, and his skin began to regain its natural color.

Joseph and Yoona stared in amazement, unable to believe what they were witnessing. Xavier’s powers were beyond anything they had ever seen before.

As he finished, Xavier stepped back and observed the now-healthy child in Yoona’s arms. The baby cooed and gurgled, unaware of the miracle that had just saved his life.

"Your child has an incredible gift," Xavier said softly to Joseph. "I couldn’t just stand by and let him fade away."

Joseph nodded in gratitude, still in disbelief over what had just occurred.

"Thank you," he whispered. "I don’t know how to repay you."

Xavier simply smiled back at Joseph. He knew that he had to uncover the mystery surrounding Nell’s weapons and his lack of mana. A mystery that he was determined to solve.
