— W-what? I just wanted to say hi.

[You have no rights here. Fuck off, or else I will erase your existence.]

— Ah, erase my existence? Huh? Do you think you have that power?

[Huh, what is happening?]

— Nothing. I am just erasing your existence like you wanted to do with me, nothing big.

[SystemInfinite, you—]

Before the other System could say anything else, its existence was wiped out.

....

The old house in the heart of Alvon Kingdom was brimming with excitement as the cries of a newborn baby filled the air. The female Physician’s voice echoed throughout the cramped room, and the only source of light was the sun’s rays filtering through the roof’s holes.

As soon as Joseph heard the Physician’s joyous shout, he burst into the room, his heart pounding with anticipation. "What, really!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with elation.

The Physician beamed at him, nodding fervently. "Yes, yes, it’s a boy!"

Without hesitation, Joseph eagerly extended his arms, and the Physician gently placed the newborn into his embrace. As he gazed down at his child, Joseph’s heart overflowed with pure, unbridled joy.

The tiny baby squirmed in his arms, his cries softening as he felt the warmth of his father’s love. Joseph’s eyes brimmed with tears as he gazed at his son, feeling an overwhelming sense of pride and responsibility.

The atmosphere in the room was electric, as the proud father and skilled Physician basked in the glow of new life. The sound of the baby’s cries slowly faded into the background, replaced by the sound of Joseph’s soft coos and the Physician’s soothing words.

In this moment, time seemed to stand still as the family savored the pure and simple joy of new beginnings.

...

The newborn child in Joseph’s arms marveled at the sight of his father. He raised his tiny hand, attempting to reach for Joseph’s face but found his hand too small to make the distance.

’Huh, what is he? How is he so big?’ the child wondered, looking up at Joseph with awe.

"Oh, you want to touch me?" Joseph leaned in, allowing the child to touch his cheek. As the baby’s hand grazed his skin, he couldn’t help but marvel at the miracle of new life.

’What...! My hand. He isn’t big. I am small. What happened? Don’t tell me...?’ the child thought, surprised by the difference in size.

"He is just like you, Sonia. He is so cute." Joseph exclaimed, turning to his wife who lay on the small, creaky bed beside him.

The bed’s broken leg was propped up by tiles, and the space was cramped, with only just enough room for the three of them to fit comfortably.

Despite the discomfort, Joseph felt a sense of peace and contentment, gazing at his newborn son with pride.

The baby’s eyes sparkled blue, just like his father’s, and his little round nose was adorable beyond words.

’What did he say? Cute? Me?’ The child thought, feeling confused by Joseph’s words, ’Am I really cute?’

In his past life he wasn’t that handsome looking or even a bit cute.

So, to hear someone say that was a new thing for him.

’Cute? Is this really me?’ he wondered, studying his father’s features more closely.

’Hmmm, wait, that isn’t important. How come I am too small? Just what is happening? For as long as I can remember, I was fighting to save... s-save...’

The child suddenly found it hard to remember anything related to his death. He clearly remembers all other events of his life, but the cause of his death and the people involved are blurry.

’Who was I fighting for?’

He was unable to remember the person’s face, her voice or even the first letter of her name.

’Why can’t I remember?’

He tried to recall his dying moments, but it was all blurry, like a foggy dream that fades away upon waking.

’Urg!’

Frustrated, he pushed aside his confusing thoughts and focused on the situation at hand.

’Anyway, right now I am a child. But, how? Wasn’t I a 24-year-old man in my previous life?’

It was obvious that something was not right, but he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was the problem.

’Did I get reborn?’

He doubted that. It couldn’t be.

In his previous life, there was no such thing as rebirth or a second chance.

It was a one-way street, and there was no coming back once you were gone.

’Then, was I just reincarnated into a baby?’

It was possible, but unlikely.

After all, why would a grown man get reincarnated as a baby in the first place?

Even if magic existed in his past life, it was impossible for someone to reincarnate an adult soul into a newborn.

It was life. Not a story or imaginary world where everything is possible.

So, reincarnation was out of the question.

’Then, what is the explanation behind this situation?’

He continued to ponder on the possibilities, but his mind drew a blank.

He didn’t know why he was in a baby’s body or what the fuck was happening.

As of now, he was just a kid. He was supposed to cry, poop and pee, but thinking like this wasn’t something a kid would do.

’Shit, that is embarrassing.’

He felt ashamed for thinking about the possibilities of his crying and doing the child’s business, but at least it was better than dying.

As he calmed his racing mind down, his gaze fell upon his father again, who was beaming with joy.

"Son," Joseph spoke, his voice laced with affection, "from now on, you will be our son, the apple of our eye, and the light of our life,"

’Apples, huh? It’s been a long time since I had eaten an apple. Maybe, I should eat it when I grow up.’ the child thought, not understanding a single word his father had said.

Joseph’s words entered through his right ear and flew out of his left. Not like, he didn’t give a damn to his father words. He did. It was just that, his attention was on other matters.

"I have no talent, nor I have money. But, I promise to raise you into a respectable man."

Joseph’s voice was earnest, his words spoken with conviction.

’Raise me into a respectable man? Is that really possible?’

The child knew, the world is a cruel place.

If he wanted to achieve something, he had to be ruthless, and cunning.

He had to fight, struggle, and kill.

That was the law of the world.

The strong survive, and the weak perish.

That was the only way.

And yet, his father seemed to believe otherwise.

He seemed to believe that hard work and perseverance would be enough.

’Hah, good luck with that. You need strength and money. That’s it—’

Ding!

[Welcome to the new world, Host!]

As the child was mocking his father’s ideals in his head, suddenly, a blue light appeared in his field of view, interrupting

his thoughts.
