Chapter 102: Back To The Past (3)

"Everyone, go down and bow before the body," The leader’s voice was low, and his words were sharp.

The army followed his orders and descended toward the ground, their faces solemn.

"Leader," a man said, his voice shaky. "Why do we have to do that? Wasn’t she the one that was supposed to die?"

"No, it isn’t for the girl but for the man," the blond-haired leader replied, "I just feel like it,"

"But, why?" the man asked, his tone hesitant.

"Because," the leader paused, and looked at Nellas, who was kneeling on the ground, holding Ember’s body.

"It just feels like it is the right thing to do,"

The army reached the ground, and they all kneeled down, their heads bowed.

Nellas was still holding Ember’s lifeless body, his face full of grief.

"EMBER!!!!" he screamed, his voice loud and piercing.

"Why, why did you have to do this?! Why did you have to leave me?!"

He touched her face, his fingers caressing her cheek, her body had gone cold.

"You said you only loved me. So, why have you gone to death?!"

"You said, you wouldn’t leave me, so why did you?!"

His body was shaking and his face was distorted.

"You said, you will never leave me, that you will stay with me forever,"

"You lied,"

"You fucking lied to me,"

The tears were rolling down his cheeks, and falling onto her body.

After shouting too much, he couldn’t speak anymore, he just kept staring at her.

He stayed silent for a while, and then...

"Ah, ah,"

He let out a laugh, his eyes wide.

"Hahahahaha,"

He was laughing, his laughter loud and insane.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"

He laughed, his mind going crazy.

"Oh, Ember,"

He said, his voice hoarse and raspy.

"I know you are playing with me, you will suddenly open your eyes and smile at me, right?"

He smiled, his face twisted and contorted.

"Right?"

"You will, right?"

His smile disappeared, and his expression darkened.

"If, If I die, will you wake up, and come to see me?"

"You will, right?"

He closed his eyes and let go of her body, his hands dropping to his sides.

"Answer me, EMBER! ANSWER ME!!!"

His words echoed throughout the area, and his eyes opened, his gaze fixed on the sky.

"Ember, look, the sky is dark and the sun is covered by black clouds. Do you know why? It’s all because of my fight to protect you, and now you are dead,"

He looked at her, and his face was covered with tears.

"What will I do now, without you?"

"What will I do, when the only thing I have is you, and now, you are gone,"

"What will I do, without my other half, the part of me,"

"Without my soul, without my heart, without my life,"

"Do I have reason to live?"

"When I am just an empty shell, a living corpse,"

"A person who has nothing left to lose,"

Nellas’s voice echoed throughout the area, his tone hollow and empty.

"And, the only thing I had, was taken from me,"

His eyes were blank, his expression devoid of emotion.

"What is the point of living, when the reason of my life is gone,"

"No, you have a reason to live. Your life is not meant to end today," the leader’s voice suddenly echoed in the area.

"The gods are the ones who wanted her dead, and the gods are the ones who gave us the order,"

The leader stood in front of him, his eyes shining with determination.

"If you kill yourself, you will be following the gods’ wish. Do you want that?"

Nellas stared at the man, his gaze hollow and void of emotion.

’His gaze? He is just like me,’ the leader thought, looking in the void of Nellas’ eyes.

’He has nothing left to lose,’

’Just like me of that time,’

"Yeah, you are right," Nellas said, his eyes dull.

"The gods, are the ones who wanted her dead, and the gods are the ones who will pay for it,"

Nellas’s gaze began to change, his expression twisted and filled with rage.

"I will make them regret this,"

"I will make them all pay for this,"

"I will not rest until the world is destroyed, and everyone who had anything to do with her death will suffer,"

"The gods, will all die, and the world, will burn,"

"I will avenge her, and I will make them regret ever making me,"

Nellas’s body began to tremble, and the air around him started to change.

Cra!

Crackle!

Suddenly, the dark sky was covered with blue lightning, and the earth was shaking.

"And as for you guys, you are gonna die here, today," Nellas said, his words filled with malice.

"Hahahaha," He laughed, and the crackling above him became louder.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

The whole place was illuminated by his lightning, and his voice was echoing through the land.

The leader was looking at him, his eyes narrowed.

"It looks like, I was wrong," the leader said, his tone serious.

"I was wrong to think you are like me," the leader continued, his gaze locked onto Nellas’s eyes.

"I thought we were similar, but, you are different,"

"Now, there is no point for me to stay here,"

"Everyone, let’s leave,"

The leader turned around, and the army followed.

"Where the heck do you think you are going, huh?"

Nellas’s voice echoed, and a bolt of blue lightning fell from the sky.

Booom!!!

It hit the leader, and exploded, sending the debris flying and dust into the air.

But, the leader didn’t move.

The explosion did not affect him.

In fact, it didn’t even leave a scratch on his armor.

"I told you, no one leaves unless their soul exits their body!" Nellas’ words echoed in the area, and another bolt of lightning fell.

This time, it was aimed at the army.

"DIE!!!"

The lightning hit the group, and killed the people who were at the front.

But, the leader was unfazed.

With a clam expression on his beautiful face, he kept witnessing the death of his men.

Soon, after three or four strikes of lightning, Nellas grabbed his black sword and stood up from the ground.

"You, come here, and die."

His gaze was fierce, and his voice was cold.

He walked toward the leader, his steps heavy and resolute.

But, the leader didn’t reply.

He didn’t even react to his words.

He just stood there, watching.

"I SAID COME, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Nellas yelled and pointed his sword toward the leader.

However, the leader just stared at him, his gaze calm and unwavering.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Nellas asked, his eyes burning with anger.

"Nothing, just thinking of ways in which I can kill you painlessly and quickly," the leader replied, and raised his right feet before stomping it on the ground with all his strength.

Boom!

In the matter of a second, the leader, disappeared from the place.

And then, reappeared behind Nellas.

"Huh?"

Nellas’ eyes widened as he noticed his appearance at his back, however, before he could react, the leader had already grabbed him from his neck and lifted him up.

"Guh!"

Nellas let out a gasp of surprise as he felt the strong grip around his neck.

The leader had an unimaginable strength.

It was as if, he was holding him like a doll.

"I could have killed you and that woman in the blink of an eye, and no one could have done anything about it,"

The leader whispered into Nellas’ ear as he continued to tighten his grip around Nell’s neck.

"So, what made you think, you have a chance against me?"

The leader’s tone was calm, his voice was clear and steady, just like it always have been.

Nellas gritted his teeth and struggled to free himself, but the leader’s grip was too strong. Even breathing was becoming difficult for him.

"Fuck you,"

Nellas raised his sword in order to cut the leader’s hand and free himself, but the leader wasn’t someone to be underestimated.

Right before the sword was some inches away from his hand, the leader snapped Nell’s neck and threw his dead, lifeless body on the ground.

The sound of Nell’s body hitting the hard ground echoed in the area.

Nellas didn’t even knew when he died. The moment his neck was snapped, the life just left him.

There wasn’t any pain or suffering, just a feeling of emptiness and a dark abyss.

That was how it all ended.

Nell’s life and Ember’s too.

Thier first life and their love ended just like that.

"Useless,"

The leader muttered as he looked at the corpse of the man, "Your struggle were useless,"

"Your attempts to escape were futile,"

"Your wish for vengeance was pointless,"

"But," the leader sighed, "I suppose you didn’t want to lose your one and only loved one."

"I wonder if it was worth it?"

The leader raised his head and stared at the dark, gloomy sky.

"Was it worth losing your own life just to try and avenge her?"

For a few moments, he was quiet, and then...

"Who knows,"

He murmured and walked away.

As he was stepping further away from Nellas body with his army, the clouds were dispersing, and the sun was shining again.

But, the destruction and the chaos remained.

The bodies were lying on the ground, the blood was staining the earth, and the ashes were scattered everywhere.

A war had taken place, and many lives had been lost.

But, the end was just beginning.
