Chapter 351: More Than Just Pain
Chapter 351: More Than Just Pain
Pablo and Ted both lay on hard ground of Ground 0.
Pablo panted heavily, not saying anything while Ted was the one who did the last thing of his life for Pablo.
He told everyone that had come inside ground 0 that the real killer was Luther, the second Marshal and he shall be granted death.
"Ted!" Someone shouted.
A man ran towards the dying soldier and Pablo glanced at the man.
’Fozier. Of course, he lost his six soldiers in the last couple of days. What a blow for him.’
The first Marshal held Ted’s head and placed it on his lap.
Ted’s eyes fluttered.
"Pablo solved the case, Marshal. He should live. Save him. He saved me from this Luther. Otherwise I would be dead even before you could come here. He is innocent."
"How did you lose? Are you dying? You can’t die, Ted!" Fozier yelled.
Ted coughed. "Yes. I am dying. And no need to save me. I have had enough of this life. Save Pablo. He will make our kingdom and military grow beyond belief. Save him!"
’He is hyping me way too much. Is he acting or does he really think that way for me?’
Pablo found Ted’s words too much. He only asked for Ted to accuse Luther as the killer. He didn’t ask Ted to paint him as some savior of the military.
’Anyway, I have to act now.’
"First Mars-marshal, remove... sword." Pablo said in a meager voice and Fozier darted his eyes between Ted and Pablo.
"What should I do? I don’t want Ted to die. He is one of the best soldiers. Pablo shouldn’t die either. I can’t lose my soldiers like this. What should I do??"
"You fucking wimp!"
One more voice rang and everyone knew it.
It was Admiral Harlia.
She took long strides towards Pablo and held the sword stuck on his chest.
He shot a glare at Fozier.
"There is no time to think. One is nearly dead and one can be saved. Let your soldier die. He has had enough of this life."
"But how can I le-"
"Shut up. You are the first Marshal. The only thing good about you is your Ego. Otherwise you are just trash."
Fozier dropped his gaze on the ground.
He didn’t refute Harlia. He had nothing to refute anyway. Ted remained on his lap, taking his last breaths and Harlia proceeded to take out the sword stuck in Pablo’s chest.
"It will hurt." She said.
Pablo nodded.
Harlia returned the nod and in just one motion, he yanked out the sword from Pablo’s chest.
"Aughh!"
Blood splattered as Pablo’s chest found new wounds.
The sword had taken refuge around the arteries and veins of his chest so when it got pulled out, the sword cut many of those important organs.
"Quick. A healer! Come here." Harlia shouted.
"Yes. Heal Ted as well!" Fozier shouted as well.
Harlia gritted her teeth.
"Get over it, Fozier. Even if he is healed, he lost all his will to live. Let him go. And look at him—he doesn’t have a goddamn heart. This Luther bastard took it out. He is too gone to be healed."
Harlia talked some sense and Fozier began crying.
Pablo saw all that and he couldn’t help but frown.
’Seriously, is he in love with Ted or something? Let him die. I will kill him again if he is healed.’
Ted caught a glimpse of Pablo’s face from the corner of his eyes but he did nothing about it because he had nothing to do.
"The Admiral is right, Marshal." Ted spoke. "Take care. My end is near. Make Pablo the 2nd Marshal. And support him. I am taking my leave now."
Ted spoke his another final words and this time, finally, he closed his fluttering eyelids.
"Tedddd!!" Fozier cried out loud.
Pablo heaved a sigh as Ted was finally dead.
Harlia also ignored Fozier and a soldier came beside her.
"I am a Healer, Admiral." The soldier said.
She was a woman and she wasn’t from the Abyssal Butchers.
Nevertheless, Pablo couldn’t care less about her anyway.
Heck, he still had Ted’s Ego so he was mostly already healed. The woman wasn’t all that needed anymore.
However, he would still let her heal him. If he refused, people would suspect him and he wouldn’t want that.
"Heal him." Harlia ordered.
The woman nodded and outstretched her palms towards Pablo.
After a moment, Pablo felt some changes and the hole in his chest healed fully.
"That’s really fast. You are good." Harlia praised the woman.
The woman, however, frowned.
"This was really fast. It never happened like that."
"Let it be. You can go back now. I will take it from here." Pablo said, standing up from the ground.
The healer saluted and went to stand with the other soldiers.
"Let’s get on the stage, Admiral. And tie the second Marshal. He shouldn’t run away. Let’s go."
Pablo walked towards the stage placed in ground 0.
The other soldiers began to gather in front of the stage and Harlia turned her head at Fozier.
"Let’s go." She said.
Fozier didn’t listen. He just stared at Ted’s dead face on his lap.
Harlia rolled her eyes.
She held Fozier’s collar and with just one hand, she lifted a full grown up man in the air.
"Just let it go!" She shouted and with enough force, she threw Fozier towards the stage.
THUMP!
Fozier fell right beside Pablo and after a second, he stood up.
He patted his uniform and stood straight.
Pablo didn’t bother him and waited for the other Marshals and Harlia to come up on the stage.
Soon, all the nine Marshals were on the stage.
Harlia was still standing among the soldiers and beside her was Luther.
The second Marshal still had his eyes punctured and his tongue cut.
He couldn’t say anything and surprisingly he wasn’t saying anything either.
He stood quietly beside Harlia.
Nevertheless, since Pablo said that Luther could run away, Harlia had to do something.
So she simply deleted the source of Pablo’s concern.
She raised her leg, brought it above Luther’s knee and...
CRACK!
She landed a kick on Luther’s knee which made Luther’s leg bend backwards.
She broke Luther’s leg altogether.
Then she did the same thing with Luther’s other leg.
Luther fell on the ground but he never uttered a single scream of pain.
"He is good at taking pain." Cupid commented.
But Pablo shook his head.
’He is not good at all.’
"Huh? What are you saying? Anyone else would have broken their vocal chords if they received such attacks."
’He isn’t screaming, not because he is immune to pain. He loved his wife and son too much and the pain of losing them...’
Pablo kept his eyes on the kneeling Marshal and ended saying...
’Made him numb to the pain he is feeling right now.’
