Chapter 234 Undying Body
Chapter 234: Chapter 234 Undying Body
Jiang Ziya then remembered and inserted the Yellow Banner into the ground, which stood two zhang high and sank three inches into the earth.
The banner unfurled, seemingly capturing a part of Kunlun’s earth vein—Earth Essence condensed into a Mystic Yellow Light Shield, with the virtual images of mountains, rivers, and peaks rotating on its surface.
The massive boulders that had fallen from the sky instantly reverted back to their original small pebble forms.
Seeing his unique spell broken and himself severely injured, Dragon Whisker Tiger’s pupils immediately contracted to needlepoints. He quickly knelt on the ground and begged for mercy.
"Immortal, spare my life! It’s my fault for not recognizing your greatness and offending you!"
Seeing Dragon Whisker Tiger already pleading for mercy, Jiang Ziya exchanged a glance with Nezha and said, "His spell is quite formidable; it’s very effective for raiding camps."
Nezha said nothing, already understanding Jiang Ziya’s intention.
Just now, his punch nearly shattered Dragon Whisker Tiger’s entire skeleton and internal organs.
Yet, without any sign of recuperation, he immediately used a spell to attack them and then instantly knelt down to plead for mercy once his spell was ineffective.
In such a short period, the injuries on his body seemed to have recovered seventy to eighty percent!
Dragon Whisker Tiger said, "Immortal, I was born in Shaowu, absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and the essence of yin and yang; I have already achieved an undying body. The other day, Shen Gongbao passed by here and said Jiang Ziya would pass by today; if I ate a piece of his flesh, I could extend my life by a thousand years. Hence, in my foolishness, I offended the Immortal, not knowing your high virtue and morality. Since ancient times, compassion and morality have been paramount. Please take pity on my thousand years of hardship in reaching the twelve-story building. If you spare my life, I will be eternally grateful."
Just as Jiang Ziya was about to speak, Nezha interrupted, squinting his eyes and said, "If you want us to spare you, it’s not impossible. But know that your life currently lies in our hands. If you want to live, first hand over some treasures."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Ziya rolled his eyes at him, thinking that it wasn’t a bad idea. In this Divine Enthronement battle, getting more benefits could be useful later.
Dragon Whisker Tiger’s eyes darted around, then he turned and entered his cave, soon returning with an armful of spiritual medicines and treasures.
The spiritual medicines were mostly ancient herbs from various islands, with several roots broken during harvesting. However, in the mortal world, they were still considered treasures.
As for the gold, silver, and jewels, some still had dried blood stains and human hair on them, clear evidence of them being taken from his victims.
"If the Immortal spares my life, I will offer all of these treasures."
Jiang Ziya remarked, "I am afraid these will need a thorough cleaning."
"Is this all?"
Nezha looked at him coldly. "This pile of junk is not enough to buy your life."
Dragon Whisker Tiger’s body trembled in hatred, his heart bitter, but he raised his head to meet Nezha’s gaze, soon shuddering under the intense look of Nezha’s pitch-black eyes.
Trembling, he asked, "Then what does the Immortal want?"
Nezha merely asked, "Shen Gongbao wanted you to eat Jiang Ziya, but not others. So why do you eat people?"
Dragon Whisker Tiger answered strangely, "What’s wrong with eating people? I need to eat something. What’s the difference between eating cows, sheep, pigs, dogs, and humans?"
To Dragon Whisker Tiger, humans and other animals were essentially the same.
His matter-of-fact response surprised Nezha.
Nezha thought for a moment and said, "Based on what you said, it kind of makes sense."
Jiang Ziya patted Nezha’s shoulder with a sigh, "Ah, nephew, your reasoning is rather unique."
He thought, though the money was tainted in origin, money is still money, clean it up and it can be used.
To take money and solve problems for others was a principle Jiang Ziya maintained.
But Nezha interrupted, "You are a beast, born to eat humans. But I am human. If you come to eat me, I will kill you. Isn’t that reasonable?"
Dragon Whisker Tiger was stunned, clearly seeing the murderous intent in Nezha’s eyes. Yet, what could he do now? He couldn’t fight or flee.
"Immortal, I have already surrendered and begged for mercy."
"Begged for mercy? If we had lost to you earlier and begged for mercy, would you have spared our lives?"
"Of course!" Dragon Whisker Tiger pounded his chest, lying with his eyes wide open.
Nezha sneered, fixing his obsidian-like eyes on him, saying each word slowly, "You’re talking nonsense."
Seeing the two argue, Jiang Ziya was about to intervene when his vision blurred with a gust of wind, blowing his white hair. He could no longer see Nezha’s figure.
He could not see, but Dragon Whisker Tiger could.
Dragon Whisker Tiger thought his eyes were deceiving him, as the figure before him suddenly grew three heads and eight arms.
The Nezha before him stretched his body, every movement resonating with the Heavenly Dao, filled with natural rhythm and beauty.
His wrist bone suddenly tightened like a taut bowstring, three lines of veins erupted from his tiger mouth, resembling shards of ancient bronze swords before being drawn from their scabbards.
As his fist pierced through the air, there was a momentary stalling—not from obstruction but from being so fast that it tore through the wind curtain, causing light to collapse into black holes in the creases of his knuckles.
The Nezha in front of him clearly only swung his right arm, yet it expanded into four fists before Dragon Whisker Tiger’s eyes.
At the midpoint, his forearm arched into a half-moon crescent, the fibers of his cotton sleeve snapping like a flock of startled chill crows in a snowy night.
The punch landed.
The wind died.
Nezha utilized his three-head-eight-arm divine skill, simultaneously attacking Dragon Whisker Tiger’s temple, throat, heart, and liver-spleen with four punches.
Dragon Whisker Tiger tried to block but failed to fend off even one punch.
The force of the punch permeated his body, and Dragon Whisker Tiger did not retreat a step, though his standing form was nearly collapsing.
As he opened his mouth, his shattered internal organs and a streak of blood shot out.
His eyes widened in disbelief, and the scene before him turned red, losing sight of Nezha’s figure entirely.
His eardrums burst, leaving only the sound of the fierce wind around.
Dragon Whisker Tiger could no longer hear, but Nezha continued speaking, "I believe I’m very reasonable. You were right to eat humans, and I was right to kill you. Isn’t that true?"
"He’s done for."
Jiang Ziya hurried over, circled Dragon Whisker Tiger twice, hit his thigh, and exclaimed, "What are you doing, my little ancestor? The Heavenly Venerate must have wanted him here for a reason, certainly not for us to kill him so easily. He likely had plans to make use of his skills in our campaign against Chengtang, allowing him to earn divine honors in battle!"
"This beast can be enshrined?" Nezha scoffed.
"It doesn’t matter whether he’s a beast or not. You know it well enough, Divine Enthronement isn’t exactly a good thing. Every position taken means one less spot for Chan Sect or Jie Sect disciples. Don’t you understand this?"
Nezha said, "Don’t worry, uncle. Look, he isn’t dead yet."
"Don’t try to fool me."
Although Jiang Ziya’s cultivation was not high, his eyesight was still sharp. Dragon Whisker Tiger was only at the Golden Core Realm; if his physical body died, he was dead.
Nezha’s punch had shattered Dragon Whisker Tiger’s heart and internal organs; there was no chance of survival.
But when he turned to look, he saw that Dragon Whisker Tiger’s ’corpse’ was slowly emanating a surge of life force!
Jiang Ziya cried out, "Good heavens, he’s really not dead?"
"That’s right."
Nezha nodded, "But now he will truly die."
Having said that, he placed his right hand on Dragon Whisker Tiger’s skull, pressing down slowly.
His five fingers seemed like five mountains crushing down, the skull emitted a cracking sound like glass, and the ten-zhang beast’s body began collapsing from the crown—first, the sinewy muscles turned into flowing sand and fell; then, the iron-hard spine segments shattered into phosphorescent fire; lastly, even the reverse scales on his ankles weathered into dust, swirling up into a blue-glowing snow in the breeze.
