Cheat God
19. Eye mark

Inside the Jade Spiritual Nectar Pool, Liu Chen spent two full days cultivating in silence. His spiritual sea had never been so clear. The dark aura left from the Ghost Eye had been washed away by the ancient nectar, and his God and Demon Divine Body felt more balanced. His bloodline was calmer, his meridians wider, and his soul sea no longer trembled from earlier corruption. He slowly stood from the pool, water sliding down his body like glowing threads of jade light. His eyes opened—calm, deep, and sharp.

“It’s time.”

After drying and changing into clean robes, Liu Chen walked to the rear of the cave chamber. There, hidden behind a smooth piece of spirit stone, was a carved formation circle, so subtle that few even knew it existed. His father had once told him: “If you ever need to refine something that must stay hidden—even from King Realm elders—place this black spirit block into that slot. It’ll seal all perception from outside. Even heaven’s gaze will be muffled.”

Liu Chen took out the small black stone from his storage ring. It was rough, like volcanic glass, and pulsed with a dull warmth.

Click.

He slotted it into place. Immediately, the entire chamber shifted. The air grew still. The natural spiritual flow dimmed. Outside the cave, the old guardian elder’s brows furrowed for a moment. A few other clan elders noticed a fluctuation—but only shook their heads.

“Probably another treasure from the Clan Leader,” one muttered.

“Lucky brat,” another whispered.

But inside the cave, no one could sense anything now. Liu Chen walked back toward the center of the pool, then sat cross-legged again. His breath slowed. His expression turned serious. He summoned the array plate from his ring, and placed it gently in front of him. Inside… the Ghost Eye still floated—sealed in spiritual gold and silver runes. But even now, it pulsed faintly. Like a heart. Like something alive.

Liu Chen’s fingers trembled slightly. “Let’s see if I can really tame you.”He tapped the formation. The seal lines began to fade.

Thump.

A wave of pressure spread out from the Ghost Eye, dark and cold. It was like a shadow pressing on the soul, not the body. The water around Liu Chen stirred faintly. He gritted his teeth and released more soul power, spreading it to form a small soul barrier around his sea of consciousness.

Thump. Thump.

The Ghost Eye floated upward. It slowly turned—once, twice—as if it were looking around. Then… it focused on him. Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind—not words, but feelings. Images. A boy’s laugh. A cold wind. A battlefield. Screams. Blood. Liu Chen clenched his fist. The Ghost Eye’s spiritual aura wasn’t just powerful. It was intelligent.

“You… not Ghost Clan…” a childish voice whispered. “But… you have sealed me. Why?”

Liu Chen’s body froze. The voice sounded like that of a young boy, no older than ten. But behind it was something ancient. Something filled with death. The eye began spinning faster. Ghost aura leaked out, staining the spiritual air around it like black ink in water. Mist formed—shaped like skeletal hands, reaching toward Liu Chen’s chest.

“No you don’t!” he shouted, and activated his divine body.

Golden light erupted from his skin. His soul force surged outward in a pulse. The ghost hands burned into mist. But the voice laughed again—still that strange child’s tone.

“You can’t kill me. You already let me in.”

Suddenly, Liu Chen’s soul sea trembled. A sharp pain sliced through his thoughts. Images flashed in his mind—ghost faces, cursed runes, blood-drenched plains. His hands shook. His breathing grew unsteady.

“Your mind is weak. Let me in. Let me see everything…”

He bit down on his tongue, hard. The pain snapped his focus back. His will surged.

“I said—get out!” he roared, and channeled his divine flame.

A spark of golden fire burned within his soul sea. It touched the invading ghost aura—and sizzled. Black mist recoiled, shrieking like wind.

The ghost aura around Liu Chen grew thicker and colder. His entire body felt like it had fallen into a grave. The Ghost Eye released more power—dark mist filled with strange curses, soul whispers, and death energy. It wasn’t just spiritual pressure anymore. It was trying to eat his soul. Liu Chen’s vision blurred. His thoughts became slow. His heartbeat felt heavy. Voices echoed in his ears, like ghosts calling from far away. “Let go… give in… become one of us…”

His body was still, but inside his soul sea, a war had begun. Dark waves crashed, and ghost flames danced in the air. The Ghost Eye floated high above, its purple-black glow spreading fast. It tried to cover everything. But suddenly A golden light burst forth from the center of his soul sea.

Liu Chen’s Golden Soul appeared. It looked like a shining golden figure of himself, sitting cross-legged in the air. Calm. Pure. Unshaken.

The ghost energy rushed toward it—but the moment it touched the golden light, it sizzled and burned

. Hissssss—!

The Ghost Eye paused. Its aura trembled. The childish voice echoed again, softer this time. “Golden… soul? This power… can’t be eaten…”

The ghost flames fell back. The darkness around the soul sea slowly faded. Liu Chen gritted his teeth, holding firm.

“You think I’m weak? This soul… is mine.”

“This body… is mine.”

“And now… you are mine!”

The Ghost Eye stopped moving. It floated silently in front of his golden soul—watching, thinking. Then something strange happened. The black fog vanished. The Ghost Eye stopped resisting. It slowly spun once… then settled down in front of the golden soul. Quiet. Obedient. Like a beast finally choosing its master. Liu Chen could feel it now. Truly. This Ghost Eye… was no ordinary treasure. It was a soul-type ancient weapon, made from death element, soul element, and darkness element. It could See through hidden illusions, curses, and soul tricks, Burn enemy souls with ghost fire, Cause confusion or fear with spiritual pressure, Ignore normal barriers and detect hidden beings.

And now… it was his.

Suddenly, a cool, ticklish sensation ran across his forehead. Liu Chen opened his eyes—and felt something new. His forehead glowed faint purple. A small, black-purple eye mark slowly appeared in the center. It opened for a moment—then faded back, hidden.

But he could feel it anytime.

The Ghost Eye had become his third eye.

His spiritual sight and perception were now stronger than ever.

He stood up slowly. The jade nectar around him rippled as if bowing to his new power. He smiled faintly. “Not just tamed… but welcomed.”

The Ghost Eye rested quietly in his soul sea, in front of the golden soul like a loyal spirit. Its once wild and violent aura now felt calm—as if it had found a place it belonged. Liu Chen’s eyes glowed with golden light and faint purple flame.

Now, he was no longer just a rising genius of the Liu Clan… He was someone with a power no one else could see. A hidden weapon. And soon, the Great Land of Bliss would open. He turned his gaze toward the cave ceiling, speaking softly—

“Let the novel world watch the power of a novel reader.”
