The buzzing in the pub was vibrant as it filled the place with pack members who were making merry. Lucian, Conri, Levi, Everest, Luna, Tala, Anisha, and Zeeb were seated on the corner table, which was filled with drinks and plates of chicken ribs.

"I will join you shortly, " I piped as I rushed back to the kitchen to check on everything.

"Take your time," Everest boomed and laughed at how awkward I was behaving. After I came back and sat down next to Luna, Conri was the first to speak.

"I can’t believe you are mated, " Conri smiled, and Zeeb growled in anger.

"You better tone down." Tala smacked Zeeb’s hand. "Ma is finally happy while you are being grouchy"

"I told him the same. He needs to be cordial with Benjamin. He is not a stranger to us and he is lucky enough that Luna accepted him. "Anisha seethed at Zeeb.

"Fine, "Zeeb huffed, and Lucian burst out laughing.

"You are behaving like a child that is spoiled rotten," Lucian teased Zeeb.

"Where is Elder Zaya, am told she was the matchmaker. "Anisha smiled warmly and Luna blushed.

"She is home resting," I responded. " She requested to be briefed tomorrow once we decide on how to proceed"

Lucian nodded and then asked, " Levi, are you aware of the fact that your father had traces of Napella in his clothes?’

"Everest briefed me on the same and I passed by Pa’s house, but he was not there. I also called Keith, and he never picked up. "Levi reported.

"You do know that Napella is dangerous, plus Lobo Aria is involved with your father," Conri informed him.

"I have a bad feeling that this will come back to bite me, "Levi complained.

"You are not your brother or father " Everest snapped "Just be you"

"Agreed" Lucian nodded.

The door of the pub opened and Conri stiffened and said, " Lobo Aria is here. With Hunter and Keith"

" Ignore them until they show up here. "Anisha snickered. " It seems someone already reported that we were here.

As predicted, Lobo Aria walked right over and said, " Are we having a party? How come am not invited, Benjamin?

"No party Alpha. Just family dinner, "Benjamin stated.

"Family?" Keith snickered and walked over, eyes blazing at Levi" Brother, are you in the wrong table?"

"No. But it seems that you are in the wrong company," Levi chuckled.

"Shut your mouth, Levi. Papa is already furious that you are mated to this construction worker, "Keith laughed cynically.

Everest was about to burst into anger but Levi held his hand and whispered in his ear "Ignore him. I will make it up to you"

"Oh boy, I bet the single us are all dying of envy, " Tala chuckled.

"Alpha, let me get you a table" I stood up and walked towards him.

Alpha Lobo’s eyes landed on Conri and then darted toward Lucian before he walked away, followed by Hunter. Keith remained standing by the time, staring at Levi. Once I organized the table for Alpha Lobo, I rushed back to sit next to Luna as I watched the waiters serve.

"Why are you still here, Keith?" Levi asked.

"I am watching as to how stupid you are, "Keith responded.

" I can smell the Napella drug on you. The traces are stronger than what I smelt on your father at the KODA council yesterday," Conri interjected, and Keith gasped. "It seems your family is involved in the Napella drug. "

" This is the first time I heard of such news." Levi stood up staring at Keith.

"I have no idea what he is talking about, " Keith denied it and looked away

"I wonder what a lab test result would say if they tested your hands and clothes," Conri spoke without looking at Keith. " Lucian, do you think we should report this to the mayor?"

"It would mean that it would subject Keith and Ralph to lab tests, " Everest spoke up. " Do you think that would be okay with this?"

" Justice delayed is not justice served, " Levi asserted as he crossed his arms before his chest. " I will not be part of any evil done in the Golden Shifter pack. Anyone who breaks the law must be punished.

" You promise to stand by your words? " Lucian asked.

" I promise and vow to stand by words, " Levi stated.

Tala stood up and raised her glass. " Cheers to justice "

We all stood and followed suit. " Cheers to justice "

And with that, Keith rushed over to Alpha Lobo’s table and sat down with a thud.

Once seated, Tala spoke up, "It seems the matter at hand has to wait since we have company "

Conri nodded. " The Freki mansion will serve breakfast to all of you tomorrow. Benjamin, I would request that you can pick up Godmother "

"It would be my pleasure, "Benjamin stated. "Do you know where your father is?"

"No. I tried to reach him, but he was not picking up my calls. I hope he does not do something stupid. "Levi whispered.

"We can’t always choose our family. But we can maintain the ones close to us and make them family. I learned the hard way and I thank the moons that they adopted me into the Freki family. " Anisha spoke to Levi.

"I know" His voice was filled with sadness and remorse.

"You are lucky to have Everest as your mate. He is loyal and a good man, " Conri added.

"Thank you so much Conri" Everest bowed

"I am only stating the truth, " Conri chuckled.

"Ma, are you moving to Benjamin’s house tonight?" Tala asked.

"She is what?" Zeeb growled. "Why would she move to his house ?’

Anisha smacked his shoulder and warned Zeeb, "You better behave yourself or you will be sleeping on the couch today"

Her statement made all of us laugh, and he huffed.

"So you know, Ma has to move to Benjamin’s house for security reasons. Don’t ask much, I shall call you later to brief you" Tala leaned to whisper to Zeeb.

"Do you have a problem with me?" Benjamin asked before Zeeb could speak.

"You two will sort it out later. Today we have too many prying eyes and ears, " Luna calmly responded.

"Agreed "Tala nodded. "it’s better to eat and make merry "

We had a hearty dinner and drinks and two hours later, we all agreed to go home. Alpha Lobo was still present at the pub, while I noticed that Hunter kept secretly staring at Tala throughout.

As we left the pub and got to the parking lot, I beckoned Tala over and asked her, " Do you know that Hunter keeps making secret glances at you?"

"No way. There is absolutely no fucking way. " Tala shuddered.

"Be careful. I have a feeling there is more to the stares,’ I whispered down at her.

"What are you telling her" Luna’s voice rose behind me.

"I am praising her. She is a good girl. " I turned around and piped while I heard Tala giggle.

"Go. Zeeb is waiting for you," Luna instructed Tala, who nodded and rushed to Zeeb’s car.

Once we got into my car, Luna was about to speak when I interjected and said, "What is your concern? "

" The same concerns you had about Hunter," Luna huffed.

"So you heard. "I nodded and then proceeded to say, "Anyone near Lobo is a dangerous person. I wonder what deal he offered Ralph and Keith?"

"In the years back, Odwolf Freki objected to the use of Napella in the pack as a way to subdue criminal shifters. I wonder how they got it back. There is a rule about not using Napella and I am surprised that it made its way back. "I stated.

"He just hid it and continued to use it. He must have given it to Duciana to seduce the young shifters and make them loyal to him. "Luna explained.

I took a turn near the pier as we entered the homes near the Marina.

Luna gasped as she stared at the main entrance and asked, "Your home is here?"

I smiled at her and stretched my hand to rub the back of her neck. " Yes "

The gate opened, and we drove into the homes. There were only ten homes in the residential area and mine was the last one that had the best view of the sea. As we got near, I could hear how hard Luna’s heart was beating. I packed the car, got out, and then walked around to open the door for her.

"Welcome home," I whispered in her ear as I pulled towards the large doors, entered the key code of the door, and walked into the house.

"Wow," Luna whispered as she took in the whole view and I walked back to the car to pick up her suitcases. Five minutes later, I had already taken her suitcases to the bedroom and went back down the stairs. I found Luna on the living balcony. She had opened the doors and was staring out into the sea.

I walked over, wrapped my hand around her waist, and whispered, "Do you like it "

"Yes, I love it Benjamin" She turned around and laced her hands around my neck" Just as much as I love you" And she sealed her declaration with a kiss.
