Chapter 166: RIFT IN THE YAKUZA COUNCIL

When we walked back to Isamu’s home, we found three men and two women waiting for us in the living room. Out of the five people, one man and woman glared at me and I felt the low rumbled growl that came from Lobo who was seated at the far end of the living room.

" To what do I owe the pleasure of your visiting elders ?" Isamu’s polite voice surprised me. I had never seen him so humble since I met him. I watched how Lobo’s eyes widened as he watched Isamu’s demeanor.

" Isamu, you never told us you brought the guest back " The young woman flipped her hair. She was stunningly beautiful and I could tell she was a vampire.

" We agreed that my private residence is my business elders. But let me introduce you. That is Lobo Aria and this is his sister Zineb" Isamu pulled me to the couch and Lobo left the corner of the room and stood directly behind me by the couch.

" Lobo Aria?" One of the elders gasped in shock. " You are Lobo Aria?"

" He is. Let me introduce you. " Isamu turned to Lobo " The one seated by the far end is Elder Kanji and seated next to him is his son Kata. The one next is Riku. The beautiful woman is Ayame and her daughter Sayuri. These are the guardians of the Tabular crystal and the members of the Yakuza council. "

Zaria my wolf listened in to all of them and discovered that Elder Kanji and Kata were shifter wolves, Riku seemed to be a Hybrid like Isamu and I could swear he resembled a younger version of Isamu. And then Ayame and Sayuri were vampires.

Lobo nodded and stood stiff staring at them.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you all" I spoke up knowing well they were not happy to see me and Lobo in the presence of Isamu.

" Is this your brother ?" Riku spoke up.

" You resemble Isamu" I titled my head and pointed out.

Isamu chuckled and I could see the surprised look on the Yakuza council members’ faces.

"Your sharp tongue will get you into trouble " Lobo scolded me and I immediately leaned back on the couch and remained silent.

" Why are you here in Japan?" Sayuri’s eyes blazed at me.

" I invited them over. They are leaving with me tonight to Sitka but Zineb will remain behind. " I announced.

" I think not. Zineb will travel with us" I could hear the threat in Lobo’s voice. He must have sensed the same hostility I felt in the room and was in his defensive mode.

" As you wish Lobo Aria" Isamu responded but the happiness in his voice could not be hidden.

" She is the one we gave the Tabular Crystal. " Kata spoke up.

" I am." Zineb nodded.

" I sense the presence of the Tabular crystal in the room," Kata added.

" I am here" The voice of the crystal rose from Lobo Aria’s body.

The Yakuza members all stood up in shock. I watched as Lobo smirked and then walked back to the corner to sit down and his eyes went to the window as he watched the snowfall.

" How ?" Elder Kanji asked in shock.

" It chose him " Isamu responded and his tone held a hint of boredom.

" Brother, you are okay with him having the Tabular crystal, " Riku demanded.

" Did you not hear his words? The Tabular Crystal chose him " I interjected.

" You have no right to speak before us, " Kata growled.

" I concur with you for the first time, " Sayuri seethed.

" No way!!" I leaned forward and stared at the two of them. I finally realized that they were attracted to Isamu and were openly jealous of me.

" You better hold your tongue, woman " Isamu growled at me.

I turned to him and burst out laughing hysterically and I spotted a small smile that played on Lobo’s lips. " Zineb has always been a handful. " He said and I knew the words were directed to Isamu.

" Why is she being disrespectful?" Elder Ayame demanded.

" I did not hear her speak " Lobo raised an eyebrow at Elder Ayame whose mouth was pulled into a thin line of displeasure.

" Enough. Go and get ready " Isamu commanded Zineb.

I stood up and was about to leave the room when Kata spoke up " A word of caution. Do not cause trouble for Isamu"

My steps faltered and I felt my Zaria growl in anger. I was about to respond with a retort when Ruki interjected and asked Isamu " Brother, I can smell your blood in her veins. What is going on?"

Kata and Sayuri stood up, eyes blazing and all were looking at me like I was meat they wanted to chop into pieces.

" Go" Isamu commanded.

" I am not some damsel that needs to be hidden. " I snapped back at him and then turned to Katu and Sayuri " So it seems you want to have a chat with me. Do you think that Isamu would be attracted to the likes of you two?’

" Watch your tongue" Elder Ayame stood up.

" I have no idea why you are all hostile to my sister yet it is Isamu that brought her here. " Lobo growled from the corner of the room. " I suggest you all stand down and let her leave in peace as she was earlier doing. You have no idea how nasty Zineb can be when she is riled up. And at this moment she is about to go ballistic and when she does, I will not hold back "

There was pin-drop silence in the room. It seemed that the Yakuza council members were afraid of Lobo because of the Tabular crystal.

" Relax brother, I am in no mood for a fight. I am glad you agreed to let me accompany you to Sitka" I smiled at Lobo.

He snickered and then rolled his eyes. And I knew that he saw through the farce and pretense that was keeping up. I was happy to go with Isamu to Sitka.

" I heard that you have a son, " Elder Kanji said.

Isamu’s hands fisted at his sides while Lobo raised one eyebrow at Elder Kanji. So this man who was composed came prepared. He must have investigated Lobo and me before rushing over to Isamu’s home.

I smiled at him and walked over to sit next to Isamu, lowering myself majestically on the couch and crossing one leg over the other. " Correct. I have a son"

" The same son you planned to sell to Isamu," Elder Kanji drawled.

" The one and only " I nodded and watched the way Kata and Sayuri snickered.

" What about it ?" I posed the question to Elder Kanji.

" That tells us a lot about your character " Elder Ayame responded.

" That is true. A mother who is willing to sell her son " I stated calmly.

" Are you going to tell them the truth or should I? " Lobo snickered from the corner of the room.

" I was a fun brother. Why would you spoil this parade? They rushed over because I suspect there is an informant in your house. He must have given them details about me. And hence they came to confirm if it was so. But Elder Kenji is the rationale of the council. He had all the information before he came, just in case we got defensive. Knowing Isamu’s temperament, there was no way they could ask him directly. "

" You seem not to understand. You are an outsider " Katu emphasized.

" Exactly. And you all seem not to understand that it’s exactly the fact that I am an outsider that makes me worth it " I piped.

" Luke is not her son " Isamu spoke up and I knew he was stopping me from saying any more words and causing trouble for him.

" He is my brother’s son, " Lobo chuckled. " And for your information, since you seem to be keen on my sister’s life, the Freki that Isamu wants is not Luke" Lobo laughed and stood up " Come on sister, let us go and pack"

I stood up and walked in front of Lobo as we left the living room.

The minute we entered my room, I burst into fits of laughter and bowled over the bed.

" How can you laugh in the face of danger? They were out of your blood. And I know these kinds of people. They will not let you be. They found you a threat. And you have love rivals who are Katu and Sayuri"

" What love rivals?" I snickered as I opened the drawer and pulled out the bag I had packed earlier.

" But it seems Isamu is not afraid of protecting you. And that makes me comfortable. " Lobo smiled.

" Get over it. He will never settle down and is dangerous. That is the advice you gave me. " I snapped at Lobo.

" Your presence already caused him trouble," Lobo smiled.

" I should have just kissed him in front of them. Then they would have known what trouble is " I snickered.

" I would have loved to see that " Isamu stood in the doorway as he leaned by the frame with a smirk on his face and his eyes twinkled with mischief.

" We are ready to go, " Lobo growled.

" What is meant to be can never be stopped " Isamu responded to Lobo and walked out of the room.
