Chapter 155: CHUGACH MOUNTAINS

LOBO ARIA’S POV

I stood at a distance and watched Conri’s back disappear after killing one of the mangy wolves. Aria roared and my heart raced as I felt the need and lust to possess Conri Dolf. I could not tell how he did it but it was breathtaking. Possessing someone like Conri would make everything I ever hoped for. I would use the Tabular crystal to suppress him and make him mine.

" Blood " Aria spoke up.

" What do you mean ?" I demanded.

" I can smell Conri Dolf’s blood. Let us wait until we are sure they are gone and scout the scene" Aria informed me.

We stood hidden for almost an hour before we approached the fighting ground that Conri had with the mangy wolf. There was blood and body parts splattered all over and moving closer, the scent of Conri’s blood hit my nostrils.

I closed my eyes as I took it in and then staggered back when I realized that Conri’s blood was fused with the Adora Crystal.

" Fuck" I cursed.

" We have a problem" Aria huffed " How long must we wait? "

" Would the Tabular neutralize the Adora Crystal?" I thought out loud.

" Not to the level at which we had done with Hunter and Boris" Aria growled.

" Let us get out of view and back to the mountains " I stated as I walked out of the scene and walked back to the mountains. Deep in the mines, I had the enforcers build me a cabin that was well hidden by the caves of the Cinnabar Crystal Mines. I knew that Zineb would curse at me but with the hunters on the prowl, it would have been best to stay away from going home.

The Mangy wolves had arrived as Aria summoned them. They rushed into the mountain to feed while I walked to the cabin to rest and strategize on my next move. The mountain guard came rushing out of the cabin and said " You are back, I prepared you dinner and put water for a bath. "

I nodded and walked past him into the cabin. I took a bath and sat down to have a meal. The guard had placed a bottle of wine and chicken on the plate. Aria was restless and he advised " Send guards down the mountain. I feel uneasy"

" Do you think we were followed?" I stood up anxiously.

" Yes," Aria responded.

" We shall be safe in the caves since they will be careful not to enter plus the Cinbbaber scent will cover our tracks. " I cursed, picking up the plate and bottle of wine, and walked into the caves. The wolves were feeding, while I made my way to the mountain guards’ station inside the cave. His eyes widened when he spotted me but stood up and gave way for me to pass and I sat at the far end of the station.

" Alpha, is there a problem ?" He asked.

" Send two wolves down the mountain to guard. I feel uneasy " I commanded.

" Okay Alpha" He bowed, signalled to two wolves that lay on the ground resting and they followed him out of the caves.

I was in a pissy mood as I listened to the night air and opened my senses to the mountain as Aria listened and watched. The woods were far too quiet for my liking and I opted to go deeper into the caves and access the river. A dip in the cold water would make my body calm.

The river in Mount Chugach was bitterly cold and icy. Undressing I dipped into the water, it burnt my skin and I welcomed the cold. I spent ten minutes in the water and then got out dressed and I felt my body was alive and fuzzy. I felt calm for the first time in the day and realized that I had gotten too worried making my body tired.

" You need rest " Aria stated.

" How does one rest when he is surrounded by hunters" I chuckled.

" Tomorrow will be another day. They will come back " Aria noted.

I left the river and walked back into the cave and found that the mountain guard was back and he looked like he was in a panic.

" Spit it out " I commanded him.

" There are two people in the woods. The wolves sensed them. It seems that they did not all leave " The mountain guards explained.

" Which area ?" I demanded.

" They are moving too fast. We could not catch up with them. To distract them, I covered my tracks and left the mangy wolves to follow while I made my way back " He narrated.

" Hybrid wolves. They are smart. Better lay low and let them chase a mangy wolves and keep busy" I growled lowly.

" Yes Alpha" He nodded and went out of the cave.

I walked to the station and sat down. Picking the bottle of wine, I sipped it slowly and then leaned back on the chair.

I must have dozed off as when I woke up, it was already dawn. The birds were chirping and the I could sense the mountain air and fog dispersing as the rays of the sun sneaked into the cave.

" Good Morning Alpha, the mangy wolves came back an hour ago. It seems the Hybrid wolves have left the mountain. " The mountain guards reported.

" Dont be fooled. They might have just pretended to leave and followed the mangy wolves back. We need to relocate deeper into the mountains and head to the other mines. I suggest we use the route by the river that will mask our scents. "

" Noted Alpha" He bowed.

An hour later, we had left the caves, followed the river inside, and arrived at the Cinnabar mines an hour later. The wolves went crazy at the smell of the crystal and Aria took over and controlled them until we settled into the mines. There were eight mountain guards in the area, which made me feel more secure. The only person who knew this area was Hunter. And since he was busy in Canada, I knew I had more time to stay here as it was only two days to when the skies would have no moon and I could wield the Tabular Crystal once and for all.

" Have the mines guarded at all costs. Be on high alert and expect an attack at any time from today henceforth. I am going down the mines and will be there until I am sure that we are safe. " I commanded the guards.

I walked deeper into the mines where Hunter had set up an office. I sat down and finally made a call to Zineb. She answered on the first ring and whispered " Lobo, do you know the mess you created? I am told that Gonzalo Carter is dead. "

" I went to find the evidence that Boris held against me. I found he even had gold and cash in the house " I cursed.

" What? I had to move the Tabular crystal and hide it " Zineb announced.

" Good girl. I need you to bring it to me " I informed her.

" I will bring it to you " I heard the voice of Isamu from the Yakuza.

My whole body stiffened and I demanded " What are you doing in my house. ?"

" Hiding and recuperating. Your nemesis Lucian turned the Hybrids on us. He ordered the death of Fridolf and sent them after me. Luckily I escaped. It’s too dangerous for Zineb to come to the mountains. "

" Shit " I cursed

" I am fine Lobo. Isamu never harmed a hair on my head since he came. It’s been two days since he was here." Zineb chuckled.

" Not yet " Isamu retorted.

" My sister is off limits " I interjected.

" Tell her that. She seems to be having ideas in her head." Isamu stated and I heard Zineb curse and then footsteps followed.

" Lobo, do I give him the crystal ?" Zineb asked.

" Yes. He will bring it to me. " I responded. I knew that Isamu needed my help in capturing Lucian. " Give him the phone "

I heard a scuffle and then heard Isamu’s voice come through " What is it ?"

" My sister is off limits. I am serious. " I emphasized.

" Whatever. I am not interested " Isamu snickered.

" So you say but yet I can sense something between the two of you " I growled.

" What did you want to say ?" He demanded.

" I need you to get my brother out hospital. He is under surveillnace but its easy to get him out. Once you succeed, let me know"

" How do I find you? " He deflected. " If I need to get where you are ?"

" Once you succeed, I will send guards to pick you up. But you must be quick since the Hybrid wolves have been around the mountains." I answered and disconnected the call.

My mind was in turmoil after I realized that Zineb was attracted to the evil hybrid Isamu. How worse could life get for my family?
