Chapter 142: Chapter 127: The Beginning of the Scandal
Gu Huaichun yawned five times as soon as he got in the car.
"Yawning like that, what time did you go to bed last night?" Yin Zhou asked.
Gu Huaichun said, "One in the morning."
"Why did you sleep so late?" Yin Zhou asked again.
Gu Huaichun answered, "I got a call from the director about the next film."
Zhou Yun, sitting in the back, listened to their intermittent conversation, feeling somewhat sleepy herself.
The cameraman, carrying the camera, was sitting next to her filming her.
Zhou Yun couldn’t help but yawn.
"Did you also go to bed late last night?" Yin Zhou turned around and asked.
"Too excited, couldn’t sleep," Zhou Yun said, "Nervous."
Yin Zhou smiled, "I thought you and Song Chi were filming this show together, turns out I haven’t seen him even after filming for such a long time."
Zhou Yun explained, "It’s supposed to be each person filming their own part, but my life is really dull."
She suddenly smiled at the camera, saying, "Sorry everyone, making you watch me wander alone every day."
Upon arriving at the film set, the cameraman got off the car with Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun waved at the camera, saying, "Bye, I’m starting work now, see you later."
The cameraman turned off the camera and went back.
Today’s filming was still inside a studio.
Zhou Yun had just finished getting ready and was about to find the director when she bumped into Yu Yhan at the door.
"Yu Yhan."
"Oh, Xiao Yun, good morning," Yu Yhan greeted her, her mood not very upbeat.
Zhou Yun wasn’t close enough with Yu Yhan to have deep conversations, so even though Yu Yhan’s expression was clearly off, Zhou Yun pretended not to see it and didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask, "Is everything okay?"
It was clear something was wrong.
But in this worldly society, everyone sweeps the snow from their own doorstep.
This morning had scenes involving Yu Yhan; Gu Huaichun had two scenes with her and one with Zhou Yun.
The schedule was packed.
Generally in planning, they prioritize Zhou Yun by scheduling her scenes during the best filming times.
Ever since joining the crew, Zhou Yun has never filmed until dawn, but she heard that Group B often does.
Zhou Yun thought it over and decided to discuss her thoughts with Yu Yhan before filming their scene together.
However, as soon as Zhou Yun started to speak, Yu Yhan, with one hand on her forehead and in low spirits, said, "I’m not in the mood right now, let’s talk later."
There would be no time later.
During the actual shooting, Yu Yhan was not only off in her performance, but she was also stuttering her lines and clearly hadn’t memorized them.
Lu Yuan, unusually affecting an NG (No Good), called Yu Yhan over and scolded her.
But it didn’t help, Yu Yhan was still out of state.
This wasn’t an issue with just one or two shots; even Lu Yuan couldn’t stand it, indicating how bad she looked.
After three NGs, Lu Yuan ran out of patience and called the writer over, instructing to cut down or change Yu Yhan’s scenes wherever possible.
Zhou Yun looked perplexed.
Yu Yhan stood by, hearing everything Lu Yuan said, but she just bowed her head, holding one hand with the other, not saying a word, looking dejected and pressing her lips tightly.
"Yu Yhan, do you need to take a break and adjust?" Zhou Yun asked.
Yu Yhan simply said no need, and then turned and walked away.
She left the set entirely.
After ten minutes, the assistant director rushed over, looking somewhat distressed, and told the director, "Yu Yhan said she’s not feeling well today and doesn’t want to shoot."
Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan, in front of the entire crew, directly smashed his loudspeaker.
The loudspeaker crashed to the ground emitting a shrill sound.
"She doesn’t want to shoot? What does she think this set is? She doesn’t want to shoot so she won’t, who does she think she is?"
This was the first time Zhou Yun saw Lu Yuan lose his temper.
Yu Yhan’s scenes couldn’t be shot at all, and the highly efficient crew rarely shut down for an hour, eventually adjusting the shooting plans.
Fortunately, Zhou Yun was well prepared in advance, ensuring she wouldn’t forget her lines.
Of course, even if she forgot her lines it wouldn’t matter.
Lu Yuan said, just shoot, if you can’t deliver the lines just say something, and it can be dubbed later.
By noon, Zhou Yun finally took a break from the intense filming to have lunch.
The director seemed to have never been to the small canteen; it was always his assistant who brought packed meals to the set.
Zhou Yun got her meal and sat down, barely taking two bites when Gu Huaichun arrived.
"The director lost his temper again," Gu Huaichun remarked as he walked by Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun: "What happened?"
Gu Huaichun then went to get his meal before coming back to sit down beside Zhou Yun.
"The director is thinking of shifting some of Yu Yhan’s scenes over to Xu Siyao, but the planner is in a tough spot as Xu Siyao hasn’t joined the crew yet."
Zhou Yun didn’t expect Xu Siyao to be involved as well.
"The director is still angry with Yu Yhan."
Gu Huaichun scoffed, "Yu Yhan saying she won’t film just like that, shows no professional ethics at all, who else should he be angry at if not her?"
