Chapter 88: Chapter 29 Eating and Drinking_1

Lin Baoguo began the meal-time conversation, with Xu Xiaoyan sitting next to Yan Fei. Initially, she was a bit reserved, but once she realized that those she was unfamiliar with weren’t difficult to get along with and were around her age, she relaxed.

She chatted incessantly to Yan Fei, often confusing him with her topics. Yet, her own laughter was constant. This girl used a lot of hand gestures to emphasize her points as she spoke - one hand would sporadically wave around, while the other was busy picking up food with chopsticks. Her movements weren’t large, so only Yan Fei was affected.

"By the way, Yan Fei, about your issue, what do you plan to do next?" Lin Baoguo brought up the topic after the meal.

Actually, they hadn’t drunk much, Lin Baoguo’s face wasn’t even red. He was just waiting to finish eating and then ask Yan Fei his opinion on the matter.

"What should I do? Is there something else?" Yan Fei was trying to figure out what to say to Xu Xiaoyan, and subconsciously replied when he heard this. "Well, I haven’t thought it through yet. I’ll decide once I do. They’ve stirred things up at my place for two days. If they think it’s just going to end like that, they’re dreaming. Everyone gave a look that said ’just as expected of you.’ No wonder the Si Family’s Brothers didn’t dare leave earlier; this guy was definitely plotting something!

"You’re asking for trouble!" Lin Baoguo was rather frustrated. "Do you realize that if this case goes to the police station, it will turn into a major issue? None of you will be able to escape."

This signifies the helplessness of the township police station. Most issues originate from trivial matters, which they attempt to resolve as much as possible. Once legal procedures are followed, like conflicts between two villages, ideally, the police should detain a few ring-leaders. But that wouldn’t ultimately solve the problem; the rest would continue to creat trouble, and without their leaders, it would become even more chaotic.

But, if minor issues aren’t handled right and escalate into a loss of life, there will be numerous such cases in the police station’s records!

That’s why most of the time, their main objective is prevention and mediation. You can’t possibly arrest people for every conflict; the police station must ensure that it can handle that!

"It was them who started bullying first, what does it have to do with Yan Fei?" Xu Xiaoyan wasn’t pleased.

"Go prepare for college and stop acting like a high schooler. Do you know nothing about law? Is it right for him to kidnap and dump people under bridges?" Lin Baoguo was so vexed by this girl.

"Well then, next time I’ll just dump them straight in the river. That’s called ’no death without proof,’ right?" Yan Fei snickered, deliberately stirring the pot.

"Stop joking around, we’re discussing a serious matter!" Lin Baoguo was about to slam the table. "What else are you planning to do to them? I’ve made up my mind about this for you. Later on, you just need to buy that piece of land. I estimate that no one will dare to bother you after that. You can then focus on raising your cattle."

"No, that won’t do. To think they can get away with it after bullying, they’re dreaming! I’ll occasionally throw firecrackers into their yard from now on," Yan Fei stubbornly said.

"Right, you can’t possibly keep all six, can you? Give me one too. A purebred wolf dog, it would look so majestic when I take it out. I’ll trade you something nice in return, alright?" Xiaohei’s interest was piqued when the talk turned to dogs.

"I want one too. I’ll give you some old turtles once I get them. It’s great for nourishing the body. Isn’t Yanfei going to college? You need to provide him with some nourishment!" This was Pang Fa’s suggestion.

"Wow, I’ve never eaten that before. Is it really good?" Xu Xiaoyan looked hopeful. This girl didn’t catch the sarcasm in their voices?

"Don’t worry, if Xiaofa says it’s there, then it definitely is. Yan Fei, where are you hiding the puppies? Don’t let them starve. If you raise them well, they’ll turn into great dogs, so don’t mess it up!" Uncle Ming was still worried and reminded Yan Fei.

"Relax, haven’t you seen what my dogs look like now? Do you know how old they are? Look at them now, they’ve got quite the head size, right?" Yan Fei said, proudly petting either Da Hei or Er Hei’s head.

"Are you raising dogs? They’re turning into pigs!" Several people could do nothing but laugh seeing his crossbred pups. No doubt the sizes were impressive for a few months old, and were almost as big as the average native dogs, but they were rather fat. Their soft bodies made you want to laugh the moment you saw them.

The dogs were for safeguarding homes. If anyone found them cute, then they were definitely being brought up wrong. If these dogs continued to grow this way, they would be useless in the future.

Lin Baoguo knocked on the table: "Back to the matter at hand, can we stop talking about dogs?"

Ma Yongming said with a laugh, "What else is there to worry about? Tomorrow, I’ll chat with them along with Xiaofa, you don’t need to do anything. It’s no big deal. Several years ago, the two brothers might have threatened us with knives and risked their lives, but now, hehe..."

The Si Family’s brothers both now have families to feed and are earning a bit of money. They’re living quite comfortably, and even though they talk tough, they certainly can’t risk their lives like before.

Seeing that Ma Yongming had committed to the task, Lin Baoguo didn’t say anything more. It wouldn’t be good to say too much about Yan Fei in front of Xu Xiaoyan. He just continued drinking his tea, all the while cursing Yan Fei: What kind of terrible tea leaves did this little rascal buy? They leave this earthy, fishy taste in your mouth!

Yan Fei had no idea what he was thinking. If he knew, he would certainly tell him: This was not "tea leaves," but something Old Cheng had brought over. It was likely that Old Cheng, back in his village, had nothing to do and simply made this from unknown rotten leaves and grass, using a simple method to create this "tea".

Over there, several people had already begun extensively discussing dogs, demanding to see them first. Yan Fei, feeling helpless, said, "Their eyes aren’t even open yet! Why are you guys so anxious? Before he could finish speaking, Xu Xiaoyan, happily carrying her little backpack, returned. He decided to leave it at that.

Everyone knew that in the end, it was Little Third Ni’er from the Xu family who had come to persuade Yan Fei to release the man. Wouldn’t her parents know about this? If she didn’t go home that night, people in the town might start saying unpleasant things!

Yan Fei asked, "Do you know how to ride a motorbike?"

Ma Chao was puzzled, "Of course, why? If someone can ride a bike, they can definitely ride that thing. It’s incredibly simple."

After a moment’s thought, he advised Yan Fei, "Don’t even think about buying one of those things. They’re dangerous. If you want to die quickly, then go ahead and ride one. You don’t need it at the moment. If you think it’s too far to school, just buy a bike."

Yan Fei waved his hand, "No problem, no problem, I’m not buying it! What a waste of money. Ride safe on the roads."
