Chapter 424: Chapter 127 Annoyed by Onlookers_1
"Why go through all that trouble when they might move away in a few days?" Yan Fei didn’t approve of Heizi’s suggestion at all. The guy proposed the idea without even asking where these protected animals came from. He doesn’t think before he speaks!
Little did he know that Heizi was thinking, this is a protected tiger, where on earth did Brother Fei get it from? What if he got it in a way that he didn’t want to discuss with me? Asking about it would just put me in an awkward position, and make things uncomfortable for Brother Fei!
Things like this are not meant to be nosed into by a loyal servant like him, so he didn’t ask.
After Yan Fei briefly explained the situation to him, he finally understood.
"Ah..."
All of a sudden, Heizi let out a long sigh. He lost his interest in charging an entrance fee and squatted behind Yan Fei, staring at the tiger with a love-struck expression.
Staring at it, he still could not let it go: "Do you think they’ll really come to take these animals away? I reckon they might not want them. If they don’t want them, can we start charging an entrance fee? Brother Fei, think about it, you leading a tiger and an eagle around, how majestic that’d be!"
"We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it." Yan Fei, basking in the sun and feeling sleepy, had lost interest in talking.
The afternoon sun in winter is so comfortable!
Within a few days, the news that Yan Fei had acquired a tiger had spread all over Sancha River town.
How unusual! How many people have seen a real living tiger? You could see them in the zoo in the city, but some people have never even been to the city, let alone the zoo, in their lifetime!
No matter when or who it is, curiosity is inevitably piqued.
So, people started coming to see the spectacle.
Normally in this harsh winter, no one would make the long trek to visit the bamboo grove. The place was usually quiet and serene with just Yan Fei around.
But now, curiosity-seekers kept popping in at random times which annoyed Yan Fei.
How am I supposed to go to the Dinosaur World with this going on?
He was irritated. He has always been a person who doesn’t like to deal with people. It’s not so bad when strangers come, they generally just have a distant look and leave. The most annoying are those who are half-acquainted with him, they think they’re close and always come over to chat with a curious and concerned face. They think they look knowledgeable and sophisticated by asking a few questions. Super annoying!
What’s worse, some people just stand from afar and make comments. It makes Yan Fei wonder, are they here to see the tiger or to see me? So frustrating!
How can I come up with a solution that won’t offend everyone and also stop them from coming?
He thought hard, but still didn’t have an idea.
In the end, out of desperation, he used his ’summoning spell’ and called Heizi over to help.
Upon hearing the struggle, Heizi immediately agreed: "We need to think of a solution. If everyone has seen it already, who would come if we decide to charge an entrance fee later?"
This guy still has his mind on the entrance fee!
Frustrated, Yan Fei said: "Forget about later for now, just think of a way to stop people from coming, I am fed up."
Heizi stroked his chin in deep thought, but still couldn’t figure out a solution. Ensuring people don’t come to spectate, without obviously offending them, was proving to be quite a challenge.
Finally, he decided to go home and think more about it.
Seeing Heizi leaving, Yan Fei was so frustrated with the situation!
The next morning, sure enough, Heizi showed up: "Brother Fei, I’ve figured out a solution!"
"What’s the solution?" Yan Fei was eagerly waiting for him. Hearing that he had a solution, he instantly perked up. "From now on, I’ll appoint you as my strategist. Hurry up and tell me."
With a sly smile, Heizi adopted the demeanor of a chief-strategist and whispered a long string of ideas to Yan Fei.
Upon hearing the ideas, Yan Fei thought for a moment and was delighted: "Not bad, not bad at all, this could work. I reward you with half a pot of top-quality fish, you can eat it in the kitchen!"
Upon hearing this, Heizi happily ran to the kitchen. It was early in the morning and he didn’t mind the greasiness. He drooled over the warm meat in the pot, scooped up a big chunk in a bowl and came out—it was a massive piece, the bowl could barely fit one piece.
Eating and praising at the same time, Heizi said: "The food Brother Fei makes always tastes good!"
Upon hearing that the fish was rare, he tactfully refrained from asking further - it’s better to be ignorant about some things. He feared that the rare fish might also be a protected species, like the tiger. If Brother Fei didn’t want to tell him, would he think of me as nosy? Would Brother Fei let me eat something like this again in the future?
Originally, he didn’t care much about protected animals. But just a few days ago, Yan Fei had arrested two people transporting protected animals, which made him more cautious. He discovered that the punishment for dealing in protected species was harsher than for brawling or gambling.
It’s better to sometimes be blissfully ignorant. Maybe this way, I can get more meals like this in the future! Besides, does it matter what kind of fish it is? All that matters is that it tastes good!
The fish was tender and delicious to the palate, he relished it!
Feeling cheerful, Heizi picked up a small piece of meat and tossed it to the two dogs at the door.
But the two dogs were indifferent. After a while, one of them lazily stretched its head and ate. Heizi was taken aback: "Are these two dogs sick? They’re not even eager to eat meat?"
"Sick? Just eat yours, don’t worry about them. I’ve just fed them, and they’ve eaten more than you," Yan Fei explained.
Heizi nodded and continued eating. Midway through his meal, he paused and said with a bitter face "Brother Fei, you probably cooked this meat to feed the dogs, right? I spent the whole night thinking about that great idea, and you reward me with dog food?"
Yan Fei was annoyed: "I eat from this pot too, is that dog food? If you want to eat it, eat it. If you don’t want to, quit whining. Do you want to eat it or not?"
Heizi hurriedly gobbled up the remaining food, mumbling: "I’m eating, I’m eating. I’ll stop."
Even while eating, he couldn’t help but wonder: What kind of fish is this? So big, so delicious, what a treat!
With his limited imagination and knowing that this fish came from the Dinosaur World, he could never guess what kind of fish it was, even if it killed him.
After eating a large chunk of meat, an energetic Heizi turned to Yan Fei and said: "Brother Fei, I’ll start working on it now! Don’t forget, when it’s about ten o’clock, start the action. Be sure to run to a spot visible from the bridge before you start! Whether it succeeds or not depends on this."
Yan Fei waved his hand: "Go ahead! Don’t worry, I work more reliably than you."
