Chapter 422: Chapter 126: Borrowing an Onion from the Tiger - Heizi’s Suggestion_2

The old man gave in from the inside: "I was wrong, Little Yan, what’s the matter with your visit? Get it out quickly! Seeing that thing frightens me, can’t you take it away?"

"Is it that intimidating?" Yan Fei didn’t argue with him since he apologized, instead, he felt puzzled. "Isn’t it just a bigger cat? Are you that scared?"

"I’m afraid even if you are not! Speak quickly if you have something to say, if not, just go! Can’t you see you’ve scared my dog!" the old man shouted through the door.

The little native dog was utterly frightened and huddled close to the woodpile, whining mournfully.

Actually, this native dog was not small, but compared to what? Forget about tigers, even compared to the few dogs raised by Yan Fei, it couldn’t compete!

The old man was genuinely afraid. Tigers had always been revered and untouchable in folk legends. Especially in places where they had never seen a tiger, the countless stories have even added a layer of mystery to it.

Unlike later when people lived in cities for a long time, frequently seeing tigers in cages, they completely forgot the fear of tigers. Some even happened to deliver themselves to the tigers - all because they lost their reverence, leading to these tragic incidents.

Seeing that the old man was truly scared, Yan Fei didn’t tease him anymore. He didn’t actually have any intentions at all. He glanced around in the old man’s small vegetable plot and said with a grin, "I’m planning to make lunch, and I’m out of onions. Can I borrow a couple from you?"

The old man was cursing inside: was this the right way to borrow onions? By bringing a tiger along, was he borrowing or stealing? Could he remember when he had shown such good manners before? To break the news of his arrival?

He yelled through the door to Yan Fei: "Grab as many as you want and go as quickly as possible. The two rows of onions are all yours, just take them all!"

"How can I be so rude!" Yan Fei said modestly, but his hand didn’t feel any embarrassment at all.

We don’t even have onions on Vegetable Garden Island! These onions are pretty good. I’ll pick more and plant them on Vegetable Garden Island.

It was only after Yan Fei led the tiger away that the old man tentatively emerged. Looking at the onion field that had been picked over, both he and the dog were angry and afraid. The old man grumbled: "I can’t stay in this damned place any longer. There are tigers here, I don’t believe anyone would dare steal bamboo. I might as well go home and have a good sleep..."

He decided not to make lunch, and led the dog back to town along the river.

Yan Fei was watching from a distance!

Seeing the old man leading the dog away, he laughed gleefully.

This old man, when he’s idle, loves to wander around. You never know when he might come over to the greenhouse. If I suddenly return from Dinosaur World and he is frightened by my sudden reappearance, will I have to silence him for good?

Better that he’s gone!

He tidied up some more land on Vegetable Garden Island and planted these onions, and he won’t worry about having no onions in the future.

The onions planted here in Sancha River are matured this way - no need to sow seeds. After the onion grows, it becomes several onions, you pick them apart and replant, this is called asexual reproduction in books.

After planting the onions, Yan Fei continued to sunbathe. As for lunch, he didn’t even think about it. Firstly, he was too lazy to cook, and secondly, he wasn’t afraid of going hungry. With his current monstrous body, he could eat every day as he never was full; if he was lazy, he could eat two pots of meat in one meal, it was enough for several days.

Being a monster is pretty good, at least when he’s alone, he doesn’t have to cook three meals a day - eating one meal and feeling full for several days, this kind of skill is the ultimate dream of many lazy people!

When Heizi came over after eating, he called out first from outside. Hearing Yan Fei answering from the greenhouse, he lifted the grass curtain and came in.

As soon as he entered, he was filled with joy, "Brother Fei, you’re awesome, you have so many animals? A baby tiger! Is this a black bear? It looks like a dog, ah, and a big tiger! So majestic, Brother Fei, hold onto it, I can’t handle it, oh my God..."

After the last exclaim, he darted out of the greenhouse quickly, waited a while, and then cautiously came back in.

The tiger was very obedient initially, but his hustling startled it and it growled a few times. But after a pat on its head from Yan Fei, it calmed down. Seeing Heizi enter sneakily, Yan Fei glared at him: "What are you fussing about?"

"Didn’t I see you tying it with a rope?" Heizi complained bitterly. "That thing can’t even hold a dog, can it hold it?"

"What are you scared of with me around?" Yan Fei retorted impatiently.

"Heh heh! I was just a bit frightened when I saw it at first." Heizi said awkwardly. "I only remembered when I got outside that you were there, Brother Fei, wasn’t I coming back in? Who can stay calm when they see such a big guy?"

"It hasn’t grown up yet! It’s probably going to grow more, it’s not even two years old." Yan Fei explained. "By the way, I called you to discuss the antique selling thing. I collected a bunch of junk not worth much, sold it for about a thousand bucks, can you take two hundred and thirty bucks? Don’t think it’s too little!"

"No need, no need!" Heizi was shocked. "You already gave me two hundred bucks more than you should have, and I still have more than seven hundred bucks left! It’s all your spending, it’s not a hassle for me to collect these things, I really can’t take it! If you give me more money, I’ll be earning more than you do, is that appropriate?"
