Carrying a Jurassic on me
Chapter 320 - 40: Changing Name_1

Chapter 320: Chapter 40: Changing Name_1

The next morning, Yan Fei went to the cattle farm early and after breakfast, he instructed Heizi to go and guard the greenhouse for a few days.

With Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Gong Hanqing would be able to work full-time at the cattle farm, so the absence of Heizi wouldn’t make much difference.

Heizi wasn’t too pleased: "Who will collect the earthworms by the gate once school is out in the afternoon? The holiday for the Mid-Autumn Festival is about to start. We’ll have more visitors."

Yan Fei saw through him: "Just admit that you don’t want to stay there alone. Collect earthworms? Isn’t it true that not many people are coming anymore? I’m heading to the county to deliver some eggs soon, and I’ll take the wild chickens and wild rabbits too. The festival is coming too. You guys can just kill the fish and eat the meat. As for the rest, except for the cinerous vulture which you should kill and bury, do whatever you want with the others."

"If anything happens in the next few days while I’m away, just sort it out yourselves. As long as someone is taking care of the work in the field, it’s fine."

The children have lost their novelty, and the deadly poisonous snake is not so special anymore, so they don’t like to come and watch anymore. Besides, Yan Fei doesn’t need their help catching earthworms anymore, so it’s high time this boring task stopped.

When Yan Fei mentions the festival, besides the Mid-Autumn Festival, he also meant the National Day holiday. He was so busy a while ago that he forgot about it, but now that he remembers, it’s time to make up for it. But it doesn’t really matter, the cattle farm has plenty of fish and eggs every day.

Seeing Heizi reluctantly preparing to leave, Yan Fei called him back: "Wait, I’ll go with you. I still have some things to tell you!"

Mounting his bicycle, carrying a basket of eggs, and hanging a couple of wild rabbits and chickens, he set off with Heizi towards the greenhouse.

Heizi chattered all the way: "I’ll say it first, I’ll only watch the greenhouse, I won’t feed the dogs!"

"I fed them last night, you don’t need to feed them during the day. You just need to feed them once in the evening, that’s how it’s been these few days. You’re going to feed them once a day, aren’t you? Or are you going to starve them? That female dog is about to give birth to puppies, don’t you have any sympathy?" Yan Fei sneered at him.

"I’m definitely not feeding them. I’ve said it, I won’t feed your dogs even if you beat me to death." Heizi was very resolute and refused to change his mind.

"Only for a few days, I’ve already prepared everything for you, can’t you feed them once a day?" Yan Fei was quite patient today. "If I go out often in the future, you will have to look after the greenhouse for me. Would it be worth it for you to be like this?"

"No amount of talking will change anything, I just won’t feed them. Or you can beat me up?" Heizi had a look of tragic determination on his face.

"If I beat you up, will you feed them?"

"Of course not!"

"So what, do you have an itch in your skin that you want me to beat you?"

"Isn’t it to show my determination? Even if you beat me, I won’t feed them, isn’t that okay?"

"Well then!"

Yan Fei felt helpless, while conversing casually, they had arrived at the greenhouse. Two dogs ran up to greet them from a distance. Yan Fei continued to persuade, "Look how sensible these two are! When I’m not here, they will only be with you. You guys will be the only ones here in the wild and desolate surroundings."

Heizi was also torn. He got surrounded by the two dogs circling around him and wagging their tails in a bid to please him. He almost wavered.

His family also kept a dog. Before Yan Fei gave Xiaohei a puppy, they already had one. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have taken his dog to catch rabbits at night, and let Yan Fei pick the leftovers.

After a battle between heaven and man in his mind, he finally made up his mind to resist Yan Fei to the end, "I still won’t feed them...unless you agree to my condition! Change their names!"

Yan Fei was helpless, "There are so many dogs in our town called Da Hei, Er Hei, and even some called Xiaohei, Heizi directly. You haven’t asked them to change their names have you? Besides, I didn’t even know you when I named this dog!"

Seeing Heizi’s unwilling face, Yan Fei simply compromised, "Alright, alright, you choose a new name for them! As long as you can get them to recognize their new names, and everyone stops calling them by their old names, that’s fine."

"Great! I’ve already thought about it. One is called Little Tiger while the other is named Little Leopard. The other two are named Little Wolf and Little Insect. Together they are called Wolf Insect Tiger Leopard. Sounds powerful, right?" Heizi seemed excited hearing Yan Fei agreed to change the dogs’ names.

God knows why this guy insists on changing the names of these dogs. Initially, no one thought much of it. But when this guy persisted on renaming the dogs, everyone felt like laughing every time they called him by his name, especially when the dogs were around.

Over time, this guy developed a seemingly one-sided grudge with the four dogs – the four dogs certainly didn’t know about it, but Heizi originally liked to mess around with these dogs. Now, whenever he sees the dogs, they still love to play with him. Every time he saw a few dogs playing around him, his conflicted expression made everyone laugh uncontrollably.

Actually, this guy genuinely likes these dogs. Even their names suggested so. He seems to particularly like the two purebred wolfhounds. Although Yan Fei felt that the two dogs he first raised were better, he couldn’t control other people’s preferences.

Yan Fei brought him here, not just to let him rename the dogs: "You can name them whatever you want, just let everyone know once you’ve decided. If you have nothing else to do, tidy up this pile of bamboo. Separate the large ones which can be used as trellises for the cucumbers and tomatoes, and just leave the rest aside!"

He was referring to the leftover materials from building the greenhouse. The bamboo was cut down whole, and the branches and leaves were of no use. The thinnest part of the bamboo was also useless. Now it’s time to reuse the waste and wait for the tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse to grow taller so they can be used as trellises.

"Alright, I got it! Do you think I haven’t grown vegetables before? Haven’t I stolen tomatoes and cucumbers before? I know exactly how high the trellises should be. Just go!" Seeing Yan Fei still trying to show him how high to cut the bamboo sticks, Heizi immediately expressed his ’vast experience’, hoping Yan Fei would just leave.

"Okay then, there’s fish in the kitchen pot. It’s from the dirty water river, it tastes really strange, you just need to heat it up once a day to feed the dogs." Yan Fei didn’t say much more before mounting his bicycle and leaving.

Of course, the fish aren’t from the dirty water river. This was just a cover-up story. The fish smells fishy anyway and no one except the dogs would want to eat them.

He hadn’t gone far before he heard Heizi’s voice, "Little Tiger, Little Leopard, come here... come here! Little Tiger, Little Leopard, I’m talking about you..."

How idle can this guy get!

Yan Fei didn’t get far on his bicycle when he saw that there were hardly any people around. He promptly disappeared with his bicycle.

In the blink of an eye, a hornet appeared where Yan Fei had been standing. After a few beats of its wings, it flew into the canopy of a large tree nearby and promptly turned into a cinerous vulture as it reacted from the other side of the tree. With a few flaps of its wings, it soared into the blue sky.

Having the Seventy-two transformations was really convenient.
