All the girls were looking at what was in front of them, a bowl filled with something rumored to be the fringed part of a soft-shelled turtle. Only Miss Xu Xiaoyan had a complaint: "You made it so delicious again that I don’t feel like studying here anymore. I really want to go home with you..."

In a soft voice, Yan Fei chuckled, "How about I find a place nearby to cook for you whenever you want."

"That’s too much trouble! Provincial City is not like our hometown, the rents are not cheap. It’s not worth it, let it go! I feel I’ve put on weight already, my daily yoga practice hasn’t slimmed me down yet. It’s actually good to eat here so as not to gain another round of fat, which would look so bad! "Yes indeed! It was as big as the pot I bought to cook the pig’s feed in!" Yan Fei replied, and without a pause, added, "The pig we are raising is not small either; Sister Xiaoxing knows. We bought it after she finished her university application, and it was only a month old. We’ve been raising it for almost two months now."

You want to trick me? No chance!

Despite chatting intimately with the girl, faced with the sudden question, Yan Fei was quick to respond and added a mischievous remark immediately.

Did I tell you that I have almost forty pigs? Huh!

Miss Xu Xiaoyan held her laughter back, pinched Yan Fei hard on his thigh, and replied earnestly, "Yes! The pigs he raises grow really fast, and they’re quite big even though they’re only three months old now."

She wouldn’t flaunt her boyfriend Yan Fei’s capability of raising dozens of pigs everywhere. Moreover, even if she wanted to boast, it wouldn’t be in front of these classmates who have just started their school lives!

Listening to Yan Fei’s tone, she knew he was doing it on purpose, so she supported him with her comment.

As for how many of these girls are from rural areas, and how many have observed how much a three-month-old pig can eat and how big of a pot is needed for the pig’s meal, they didn’t care!

Anyway, these girls all nodded in agreement, as if they all understood but in fact, none of them questioned why one would buy a pot specifically for feeding pigs.

No one knew how big they envisioned the pot to be.

"How massive a reservoir would be needed to breed such a huge turtle!" Suddenly, a girl let out a sigh.

Even Yan Fei glanced at this girl: How intriguing! When everyone else was thinking about the size of the pot, she jumped straight to the reservoir!

Xu Xiaoyan turned her head and said to this somewhat worried girl, "Yangyang, don’t be so gloomy. Actually, after you graduate from our school, you can equally go back home and pay back your folks! Why think of transferring now?"

"I’m fine, thank you, Sister Xiaoxing," Yangyang was a skinny girl with somewhat dark skin, not really noticeable. She forced a smile upon hearing Xu Xiaoyan’s consolation.

The other girl’s attention was immediately diverted from the pot, and they all looked sympathetically at Yangyang, trying to comfort her.

Upon hearing her peers’ consolation, the only distinctive feature on this girl’s face, her big eyes, looked even more bewildered.

Xu Xiaoyan quietly explained a few words to Yan Fei, then he understood.

This skinny, dark-skinned girl came from a place that had undergone severe desertification due to deforestation. She was the only college student in her poor, barren village. Originally, she intended to apply for the Water Conservancy College, with her biggest wish being to build a large reservoir in her hometown to help the villagers escape their difficult lives.

Perhaps the villagers felt that their small village of a few dozen households was beyond saving and didn’t want their college student to leave and then return. Therefore, they secretly approached her teachers and asked them to convince her to major in something else. So, she ended up being deceived into applying for her current program with an absurd reason.

The reason was so laughable that it still left the girl baffled as to how she was deceived – the teacher said that after studying in this program, she could modify the law in the future to make it mandatory for graduates of the Water Conservancy College to be assigned to water-deficient and barren areas.

This way, not only could they save their village, but also assist more people like them.

The teacher was being really insincere, or it was a lame idea thought up by the villagers to have the teacher say so.

Saying that learning law can contribute to better implementation of forest protection laws after working in related industries and protecting forest vegetation is even stronger than this reason of amending laws!

Even Yan Fei wanted to laugh as he watched the girls struggling to console Yangyang. He whispered a few words into Xu Xiaoyan’s ear.
